Actually, Lucario has had bad experiences with humans in the past. Nevertheless, it sacrifices itself for Ash – similar to Luxray, which sacrifices itself for its trainer.

In the film, Lucario doesn’t think much of humans. It was abandoned in the past by its trainer, Sir Aaron. Nevertheless, it joins Ash to save Pikachu, which has been taken to the Tree of Beginning.
As the group enters the tree, it treats the intruders like a virus and activates the immune system. The tree begins to glow red and threatens to die – along with Mew. Ash and Lucario want to prevent this by sacrificing their life energy.
Just before Ash uses up all his energy, Lucario shoves him away and sacrifices itself instead. The tree is healed, but Lucario has used up all its energy and disintegrates.
Luxray protects its trainer through its body heat

Schilter wants to become a Pokémon professor one day. However, in his childhood, he had to experience a terrible ordeal. He got lost in the middle of a snowstorm. Fortunately, his family’s Luxray set out to find him in the snowstorm.
After Luxray found the unconscious boy, it cuddled up to him to keep him alive with its body heat. It succeeded, and the boy woke up the next day.
But when Schilter wanted to hug his Luxray, it no longer reacted. It had frozen to death in the night, having protected the boy with its life.
