Latias must unfortunately continue to live without her family member after Latios's death. Unfortunately, Paras also faces a tragic fate during its evolution.

- Where? Film about Pokémon Heroes – The Movie
- What happens? Transformation into a drop
Two female thieves from Team Rocket sneak into the city of Alto Mare and want to steal the so-called Heart Drop. As if that weren’t enough, they want to use the city’s defense mechanism to conquer the world. For their sinister plan, they capture Latios and torture it.
However, their actions trigger a gigantic tsunami that threatens to engulf the city. The now freed Latios, together with Latias, rushes towards the wave to stop it. But the tortured Latios is so weakened that it does not survive this act.
It transforms, just like its father, into a Heart Drop. This is the remaining crystallized life energy of the Pokémon. Unfortunately, since that experience, Latias has to continue living alone without its family member.
Every Paras in its Development
- Where? In all Pokémon media
- What happens? Takeover by parasites during development
The transformation of Paras into Parasek is the worst thing you can ever do to a Pokémon during its evolution. On Paras’ back, parasitic fungi grow, thriving by extracting nutrients from the Pokémon. At least, that’s what the Pokédex says.
During the evolution, the fungus on its back takes complete control of Paras. The fungus on Parasek’s back uses the Pokémon – or at least its shell – as a host and continues to drain its energy.
This can be observed, among other things, in Pokopia for Switch 2. Whenever Paras evolves into Parasek there, the Pokémon suddenly speaks only in broken sentences. Almost as if the fungus had to get used to the fact that it could speak.
