Arena of Valor: China’s top mobile MOBA now for the Switch
Arena of Valor is a classic MOBA that has previously only been available for tablets and smartphones on Android and iOS. The game is currently the largest mobile game in the world and is extremely successful in Asia.
No wonder, after all, it is essentially League of Legends on mobile. However, it plays much faster and allows for a lighter entry. Matches can be over in just a few minutes.
At the end of September 2018, Arena of Valor also released for the Switch.
What is special about Arena of Valor on the Switch?
This is Arena of Valor: On the Switch, Arena of Valor is essentially the same game as on Android or iOS. You also have 35 heroes and various game modes that last between 15 and less than 10 minutes.
These are the differences from the mobile version:
- Arena of Valor received a comprehensive graphical overhaul on the Switch. It looks good on the TV.
- Some heroes were adjusted to have the right balance for the Switch controller.
- There is the Switch-exclusive arcade mode “Hook Wars”, in which the motion sensors of the small Joy-Cons come into play. Here, you pull your opponents into an unfavorable position with a hook.
- The Switch version of Arena of Valor is not identical to the mobile version. Not all updates from the mobile version will come to the Switch in a timely manner or in the same form.
- If you already have heroes on the mobile version, you will receive corresponding in-game currency on the Switch to unlock them there.
Why should you play Arena of Valor on the Switch?
MOBA on the go: Arena of Valor brings typical MOBA gameplay perfectly to mobile devices. However, if the touchscreen controls on the phone were too cumbersome or if you have a weak device, you might enjoy it more on the Switch.
With the controllers of the hybrid console, Arena of Valor plays differently than on the touchscreen and may appeal more to those who previously refused mobile.
The next page offers a game that has long been eagerly awaited.
