Guild Wars 2 kicks off the new year with a bang?
New patch in January: On January 8, the new episode of the Living World of Guild Wars 2 titled “All or Nothing” will be released. In this episode, you will apparently face the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik.
In addition to the story, many other features await us:
- The new map Mount Maelstrom
- A new fractal
- A new legendary longbow
- A completely new weapon set
- Many small things like miniatures, a new pair of pants, and new attribute combinations
The episode could be the end of the fourth season. At least the name and trailer for “All or Nothing” suggest that. But even if it’s not, you can look forward to the start of the fifth season in 2019, which is expected to seamlessly transition into it. This will also include features that were previously reserved for an expansion.
What was new in 2018?
2018 brought a total of 3 new episodes for the Living World, but especially many small features. The Festival of Four Winds returned and will also provide fun and variety in summer 2019.
A year full of small features: Additionally, returning players benefit from many new features of the year that have always been wished for by the community. These include:
- easier re-evaluation of runes and sigils
- Improvements to the wardrobe
- Overhaul of underwater combat
- The new Roller Beetle, which provides lots of fun with its races in Tyria.
The small features also awaken hopes among players for build templates, which have long been desired.
Why should one play GW2?
Regular updates, new fractals and raids, small features, and big plans for 2019. Guild Wars 2 has much to excite MMORPG fans. The fact that there is currently no expansion on the horizon is a great help for newcomers.
New players can first test the free version of GW2 and then consider purchasing one or both expansions later.
