Rocket Arena is a 3v3 shooter from EA that launched in July. However, there were low player counts right from the start. Then the purchase price was reduced. Now it is being offered through Amazon Prime Gaming as free content.
What’s new? The colorful 3v3 shooter Rocket Arena is now available for free on PC if you are a member of Amazon Prime Gaming. So if you haven’t wanted to try the game because the purchase price was too high, you can now get it for free through this method.
Here you can find Rocket Arena for free on Amazon Prime Gaming. Keep in mind that this is the Origin version. You won’t receive a Steam key with this offer.
What is Rocket Arena? You play an action-packed 3v3 shooter here where rockets are the focus. You choose one of several heroes, all of whom have interesting and unique abilities, and team up in vibrant visuals against an enemy team.
During the game, you fight not only on the ground but also in the air. You need to master the rockets, aim well, set traps, and always act strategically to eliminate the enemies.
This is how it has been for Rocket Arena so far
MeinMMO was allowed to test: As part of Find Your Next Game, we were able to test Rocket Arena. The refreshing gameplay without Pay2Win, the easy entry, and the various colorful game modes made for a lot of fun during our testing due to their variety and special objectives.
In my conclusion, I suspected in June that the purchase price of €30 was likely a barrier for the game to become a hit.
This is how it went after the launch for Rocket Arena: It followed a flopped launch. At launch, only 913 players played simultaneously at peak. SteamDB shows that player numbers continued to plummet thereafter.
A glimmer of hope was the free weekend during which you could play Rocket Arena for free. Concurrent players peaked at 1,136. However, they quickly fell again afterwards.

At the end of August, EA quietly reduced the purchase price from €30 to just €5 – and that on all platforms (via VG247). But currently, player numbers are still looking poor.
In the past 7 days, a maximum of only 78 people played Rocket Arena simultaneously on Steam (via SteamDB).
Should you try Rocket Arena?
Who is it worth it for? If you enjoy colorful shooters like Overwatch or Fortnite, you will feel right at home in Rocket Arena. The competitive factor is an important point, as you play in different game modes like Rocket Ball or Deathmatch constantly in PvP. This can quickly become frustrating if you are still getting to know the champions and then have to face much better opponents.
If you are more of a casual player and feel comfortable in team games, Rocket Arena might also be interesting for you. Our testing showed that rounds usually lasted only 5 minutes. The beginner-friendly gameplay allows for a quick start, and you can jump right in.
Do you have Amazon Prime Gaming and are considering giving Rocket Arena a chance, or is the game not to your taste? Without Amazon Prime, Rocket Arena is also available for free through EA Play, which will soon be part of Xbox Game Pass.
