The well-known YouTuber Joe “Angry Joe” Vargas is slightly sniffly towards Rockstar. He is missing the preferential treatment for Red Dead Redemption 2. Fans will probably have to wait longer for a review from Angry Joe for RDR2.
This is Angry Joe: For his fans, he is an important purchasing guide when it comes to whether they should get a game or not. Jose Antonio Vargas (34) has made a name for himself with reviews of video games on his YouTube channel “AngryJoeShow.”
He has nearly 3 million followers, and some of them only trust his opinion.
In his “Angry Reviews,” he entertainingly critiques games and rates them. He tends to yell and get angry. A bit of rage apparently works well and seems authentic. Small sketches and a lot of interaction with his large community round off the package.
For many players considering whether to get the next blockbuster, Angry Joe’s opinion is important. But there won’t be a “quick” review for Red Dead Redemption 2.
No preferential treatment for Angry Joe
This annoys Angry Joe right now: Vargas tweeted yesterday at 8:40 PM that he is just now starting to download Red Dead Redemption 2. He has only just received the code. So just before launch.
Unlike some press people, he has not received early access and a review copy. While finished reviews are already pouring in on Metacritic and Opencritic, Vargas has to download the game like everyone else.
Press representatives received preferential treatment and were able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 peacefully for days before launch.
This seems to slightly annoy Angry Joe. He says he doesn’t know what else he needs to prove to Rockstar to expect this preferential treatment as well. People should expect a “massive delay” for his review.
Just buy it, the review will take some time
When will the Angry Review come then? But Joe is not that angry after all.
In a second tweet, Vargas makes it clear that fans should just buy the game, even without his review. Everyone knows that Red Dead Redemption 2 is worth buying.
He definitely will not rush, but will enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2. It may be that his review of Red Dead Redemption 2 will come only a few weeks later.
