In a treasure hunt for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, you can find €430,000 – but this comes with a lot of effort.
What are the treasures about? Ubisoft is hosting a treasure hunt in real life as part of “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced,” the rework of the popular pirate game. This treasure hunt is titled “Gold & Crystal” and was initiated by the development studio in collaboration with “Unsolved Hunts“.
Participants in the scavenger hunt have the chance to win a treasure worth $500,000 (approximately €430,000). This consists of 1,000 gold coins worth around €300,000 and a handcrafted crystal skull (with an opal on the forehead) worth about €130,000.
Here’s how to participate in the treasure hunt: To take part in the treasure hunt organized by Ubisoft and Unsolved Hunts, you must be of legal age and purchase an access box on the website goldandcrystal.eu.
The cheapest package is called “Cabin Boy” and costs €34.99. It includes only the digital treasure hunt. For €49.99, you get the Sailor’s Box, which additionally contains a physical version including maps, a message in a bottle (bottle and letters), and a case file.
The game “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced” is not required to participate in the treasure hunt. Additionally, you do not gain access to the treasure hunt if you purchase the game.
How does the treasure hunt work? With the purchase of access to the treasure hunt, participating players receive 15 different puzzles that get increasingly difficult, as well as various resources like “MyMas” and “Dcode” to decipher the secrets. Exactly what the puzzles look like and what you need to do is not yet known.
Once you have solved all 15 puzzles, you must find a treasure chest that is buried in the Caribbean. The first person to dig up the chest is considered the winner and can keep the treasure. It is also allowed to play in a team.
If you don’t feel like the hard work and find the treasure hunt including digging in the Caribbean too much effort, you can also go on a digital treasure hunt – in the pirate game Windrose.
