In World of Warcraft Midnight, you need to raise your level in “Mythic+” to a new maximum. Only then will there be strong loot.
In Midnight, World of Warcraft is not reinvented, but many game systems are refined to make them even better and more accessible. This also means that rewards become stronger as you face greater challenges. For all fans of “Mythic+”, this means they will have to try even harder – because only those who conquer “Mythic+18” will get the best gear.
What changes with Midnight? The basic difficulty of dungeons will be slightly reduced. This is mainly due to the “Disarmament of Addons” – as numerous helper addons, like the notorious “WeakAuras”, will no longer work in Midnight. Almost all addons that directly read combat events will have their capabilities drastically limited.
To compensate for this, most fights will be a bit easier. There should be more time to react, and especially dangerous effects will be easier to distinguish from others.
At the same time, the weekly reward from the vault is changing. This now scales not only up to Mythic+10 but up to Mythic+18.
The best loot is only available from Mythic+18
What rewards are there? The loot received from the weekly vault is based on the highest completed dungeon from the previous week, just like it is now. For Midnight, it applies:
| Keystone level in M+ | Item level vault |
|---|---|
| 2 | 259 (Heroic 1/6) |
| 3 | 259 (Heroic 1/6) |
| 4 | 263 (Heroic 2/6) |
| 5 | 263 (Heroic 2/6) |
| 6 | 266 (Heroic 3/6) |
| 7 | 269 (Heroic 4/6) |
| 8 | 269 (Heroic 4/6) |
| 9 | 269 (Heroic 4/6) |
| 10 | 272 (Mythic 1/6) |
| 11 | 272 (Mythic 1/6) |
| 12 | 276 (Mythic 2/6) |
| 13 | 276 (Mythic 2/6) |
| 14 | 276 (Mythic 2/6) |
| 15 | 279 (Mythic 3/6) |
| 16 | 279 (Mythic 3/6) |
| 17 | 279 (Mythic 3/6) |
| 18 | 282 (Mythic 4/6) |
Note that the list refers exclusively to the weekly reward from the vault – not to the loot obtained within the dungeon. Additionally, the item level is lower than current item levels, as there will be a “Stat Squish” in Midnight.
Why is this interesting? This change will be particularly exciting for the start of the season. Because those who can earn powerful “Mythic 4/6” items in the first season week will have a significant advantage in the “Race to World First”. At the beginning of a season, the emblems for upgrading items are drastically limited. So if you can snag items that are already at upgrade level 4 out of 6, you need to spend significantly fewer emblems to reach maximum power.
But this is also a good change for all dungeon fans. Because regardless of whether you visit raids or not – being able to obtain particularly powerful items early in the season is an additional incentive for everyone not to stop at “Mythic+10” and to try to tackle a bit more difficulty.
Really powerful items, as all collectors know, are not found in dungeons, but in housing. Even a seemingly simple carpet is completely overpowered.
