In the mobile auction house of WoW you can quickly spend your gold – a bug causes incorrect values on epic items.
In a game as large as World of Warcraft, smaller mistakes in the game are part of the daily routine – it is hard to avoid and most players have gotten used to it. However, it becomes frustrating when you lose many resources in the game, such as gold in the auction house.
As Buffed reports, there is a bug in the current version of the World of Warcraft Mobile Armory that particularly affects purchases in the auction house. Those trying to snag a few bargains and looking for epic “Bind on Equip” items could be misled by the display. This happened to the user repelwithoutacause on Reddit, who wanted to purchase a ring with an item level of 840. Later, in the mailbox of their character, the ring had shrunk to a meager 810 – a clear display error.
If you continue to search for this topic, it seems this is not a new issue – reports about this bug have been coming in since September. However, the Game Masters in the game do not seem able to assist players, as they cannot verify whether an item was really displayed with the “wrong” item level. They then advise selling the item again in the auction house – perhaps with some profit.
The affected players suspect that the display error occurs whenever the item in the game has a socket, as this has been the case in all known reports so far.
Now that the bug has been known for almost 3 months, more and more people are wondering why Blizzard has not fixed it. Perhaps it was simply too small and insignificant since it only affects a very small number of players – or the developers cannot clearly determine the origin of the bug.
Be careful when using the auction house via the Mobile Armory next time – the item you purchase may not match what you expect.
