A new housing quest in World of Warcraft is causing frustration. The solution is different for each player.
In World of Warcraft, housing has launched for all pre-order players of Midnight. Part of this new housing area is a daily quest in your neighborhood, offered by an Astral. The task named “Decor Treasure Hunt” offers a different piece of furniture or a stylish decoration for your house every day. However, completing the quest is a bit tricky.
Successfully complete the Decor Treasure Hunt in WoW
You can accept the quest “Decor Treasure Hunt” in the center of your respective neighborhood (Founder’s Peak for the Alliance, Blade’s Edge for the Horde) from the NPC “The Last Architect”. Every day, a reward in the form of a new decoration item waits there.
What is the problem with the quest? It is clear from the quest text that the Decor Treasure Hunt is a riddle quest. The entire area is marked as the “target” for the quest, so you don’t know exactly where you need to go.
You will only find the actual solution if you read the quest carefully. There is no universal solution for the quest.
Important: There are over 50 different quests with the name “Decor Treasure Hunt” and which one you are offered is individual. This means that you cannot ask for help in the chat in the game, as most other players will have a different quest today than you.
Possible solutions for the quest: The best way is to read the quest text carefully, as you will generally find all the clues you need there to decipher it.
Here are some examples we already had in the Alliance area:
- If it mentions “salty, old wood”, it refers to the coastal region in the southeast, where you can find the smugglers.
- If the quest talks about a “lone guardian on the mountains”, you need to travel to a tower in the east.
- If it says you should find a “cart in the darkness” where “nature devours everything”, then it’s an old cart engulfed by plants in the dark forest.
The quest ends when you reach the corresponding location and click on an object that is visually highlighted. Most of the time, this is a dirt mound, as you can see in the screenshot above. Then a treasure chest appears at that location, where you can hand in the mission and claim your decoration.
A new quest awaits you the next day, again from the last architect. The quests repeat over time, so it’s not a big deal if you miss one or two.
