In the Plunderstorm mode of World of Warcraft, there are curious statistics. A persistent pirate won more than 300 matches.
In World of Warcraft, the Plunderstorm mode is still active. In this battle royale mode, only one out of 60 players can actually win and leave the battlefield as the victor. Considering that 59 others are trying to do the same and ambushes are the norm, a victory is quite unlikely.
A player, however, appeared to be completely unfazed by such statistics: He won 321 times and is thus the absolute champion of Plunderstorm.
Where do the numbers come from? They were published by Blizzard itself. In a small statistics video, the developers summarized the current success of the game mode and released some interesting key data.
The most impressive is probably the player who managed to achieve an impressive 321 victories. This means that this person has been the last survivor on the looting battlefield of the Arathi Highlands either alone or in a team 321 times. Thus, this person must have won around 13-14 games every day since the mode was released.
While most people are just happy if they can record a single victory for success, several hundred victories seem almost impossible for the vast majority.
Another record value is the maximum collected loot. One player has proudly collected 1,400,000 loot – and this, even though there are no rewards after the million threshold. Someone must really love the Plunderstorm mode.
What other interesting values are there? Also interesting are some other values related to Plunderstorm, such as the most successful weapons or the most popular landing point.
Most pirates land in the Horde fortress Ar’gorok. Here there are several elite opponents that promise good abilities. However, since this place is very popular, PvP skirmishes also occur early, especially at the beginning, often being time-consuming and unproductive.
The best loadout of the winning players consisted of these abilities:
- Fire Whirl
- Frost Arrow
- Fae Form
- Vanish into Shadows
We have revealed how to counter the most powerful spells here.
Curiously, the deadliest enemy is not an elite opponent but the spiders (“Tarantula”). These little critters have claimed more than 280,000 pirates.
Are the numbers reliable? Even though the numbers are official, one should take them with caution. Especially regarding the values of the deadliest spells and most useful utility skills, it should also be considered that at the beginning of the mode, some spells were massively overpowering. The Fire Whirl was considered an absolute killer, dealing massive damage and requiring several nerfs.
The Fae Form was also extremely strong, as it not only removed stuns and increased movement speed but also reduced the damage taken by a whopping 90% – basically a perfect “get out of everything” ability. There is no longer any damage reduction left.
By the end of the game mode, all values are expected to rise a little more. Anyone who has not yet claimed the rewards should hurry now – although it is still possible to earn all 40 glory levels.
Some are now playing WoW in the VR version – we reveal how that works here.
