Most AI content on the internet is pure slop. However, some videos also show how good a movie could be – such as World of Warcraft.
Since modern AI has become widespread, the internet is flooded with such content. The vast majority of it is either terrible slop or memes. However, there is a portion that has put a lot of time and effort into making the final work visually appealing – regardless of one’s personal stance on AI, there are indeed qualitative differences.
Fans of Warcraft have recently discovered a video that brings the dream of a new Warcraft movie back to life. The story of Arthas would fit perfectly.
Arthas gets his revenge – and pays a high price
What kind of video is this? We are talking about the video “Arthas: The Price of Vengeance” by YouTuber Avaren Studios. The video retells a mission from Warcraft III – namely the end of the human campaign, when Arthas takes the blade Frostmourne in Northrend and unwittingly sacrifices his soul to the Lich King to take revenge on a dreadlord. In doing so, he betrays not only the men who followed him but also the mercenaries who fought for him.

Reactions are clear: Looking at the ratings of the video and the comments, it becomes clear how much the community longs for such a film and sees the AI video as inspiration for what Blizzard could achieve. Of the nearly 20,000 ratings, over 19,000 are positive. Some of the comments:

Cortyn says: Even though I am skeptical to critical about most AI videos, I find it impressive what someone has created here. It is mainly a nice reminder of what could be possible if Blizzard puts the money into it and creates another movie or series with real actors or CGI-supported. But hey, at least we already know from some leaks that a Warcraft series might be in the works…
