During the Horizon event, a special event Charizard with Friedel glasses is waiting for you. With a trick, you can get the Charizard even more easily and quickly than through the regular way. We show you how it works!
When is the Event Charizard available? The costumed Event Charizard with Friedel glasses will be available during the Horizons event from September 16 to 22 at 8:00 PM in Pokémon GO, both as a normal and a Shiny variant.
How does the trick work? To easily and quickly get the Event Charizard, you do not necessarily have to farm Event Charmander. Instead, you can simply take a snapshot of your buddy Pokémon, which will trigger a snapshot encounter with Charizard and Friedel.
Important: You can trigger only 5 snapshot encounters per day, and there are other encounters besides Charizard with Friedel that can be triggered instead. These include a costumed Event Pikachu and a Skelocroc.
What should I do? When you are in Pokémon GO, tap on your avatar in the bottom left corner. Then select your buddy Pokémon and go to “Play”.
Once you are in AR mode, find an open spot for your buddy to appear. You can then take a snapshot using the photo button at the bottom center.
In the bottom right, you will see a small preview indicating which encounter you have received.
When you leave the buddy area and also close the photo view, the Pokémon – ideally Charizard – will spawn on the map so that you can catch it normally.
How can I get the most out of the encounter? If you want to get extra rewards from the encounter with Event Charizard, use a Nanab Berry when catching. Since Charizard is the third evolution stage, you receive a hefty 20 Charmander candies for a regular catch, which you can double to 40 Charmander candies with a Nanab Berry.
This way, you not only farm the costumed monster but also a lot of candies to level up your favorite quickly.
