Streamer Carsten aka ELoTRiX (31) is back on Twitch after a several-month break. He has now spoken about the reasons behind his break and discusses plans to emigrate, similar to what his friend streamer Marcel aka MontanaBlack (35) had.
Who is ELoTRiX? ELoTRiX is regarded as the first major shooter YouTuber in Germany. He started his career back in 2011 with corresponding gameplay videos. Now he is primarily active on Twitch and is among the German content creators with the most views.
What has happened recently regarding the streamer? Recently, ELoTRiX took a break of about 2 months. He was also hardly seen in public. His good friend MontanaBlack was the only person who could support ELoTRiX during this time.
On September 12, ELoTRiX finally returned to Twitch and did not talk about the reasons for his absence in his first stream.
Why did ELoTRiX take a break from his streams and why does he allegedly want to emigrate? More background information about the break is now known: ELoTRiX and his girlfriend have separated. Later on, ELoTRiX states that everything in his apartment reminds him of that ex-girlfriend and the time thereafter. Moreover, his current apartment has undefined leaks, the cause of which he cannot figure out.
No agreement with the neighbors and the emigration tax
There is also regular trouble with the new neighbors. After living next to a quite understanding couple for a long time, the other current tenants are not so relaxed. ELoTRiX: I don’t want to bother people here, but you can’t really estimate what the neighbors hear and what they don’t.
After several warnings, it has now come to the point that the neighbors get upset about loud laughter or even call the police directly. A cooperation
is unfortunately not possible.
Because of these factors, he is currently actively considering emigration.
At another time in one of his streams, he also talks about the so-called emigration tax. According to ELoTRiX, this has been classified as unlawful by a ruling of the European Court of Justice.
In short: The emigration tax
The emigration tax affects individuals who hold shares in a corporation and want to permanently move abroad. The tax does not apply if the stay abroad is only temporary and lasts up to a maximum of five years.

ELoTRiX himself says that he is not subject to the tax, as he has never founded a GmbH. Therefore, he would not hold shares in a corporation and would not be affected.
