It has been known for some time that Henry Cavill is working on a series about Warhammer 40,000. Since the end of 2023, it has been known that the series will be produced by Amazon. Now there is new information from Games Workshop on the subject, but it shows: It will likely be a long wait until the release.
On January 13, 2026, Games Workshop released a financial report. They also talked about the upcoming Amazon series that involves Henry Cavill. The report explains that it will likely take a few more years before the series actually appears.
However, it is confirmed that it is still in progress:
Our live-action project is still in development with our partners: Amazon MGM Studios, Henry Cavill, and Vertigo. It is inherent that such projects take several years, and while we wish we could set a release date as we do with our core business, the reality is that, as with any licensing contract, we have no control over delivery.

The report also praises the collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and Blur for the animated series Secret Level as successful. They are currently meeting with writers to discuss the next steps.
So, until new information on a specific release date for the series is received, it may take some time. According to the report, it depends on how Amazon produces the series and what their strategy will be.
