With the new cinematic for Dragonflight, World of Warcraft rises high into the skies and takes its players along: the new video about the Dracthyr is well received.
What is this cinematic about? On November 15, 2022, the team behind the new expansion held a pre-launch stream on YouTube to prepare players for the release of WoW Dragonflight.
This stream also featured the launch cinematic “Take to the Skies”.
Cinematic Spreads Adventure Mood for WoW Dragonflight
The new cinematic shows dragons in all their glory, soaring rapidly into the air, gliding, and then plunging down.
The cinematic switches quickly between jubilant flying scenes with Alliance and Horde dragon riders, idyllic images from a magically enchanting forest, but also dark, tension-filled scenes with the gigantic primal dragon, Raszageth the Storm Eater.
We see the magical abilities of the Dracthyr and an appearance by the Dragon Queen Alexstrasza, who brings life with her breath instead of destruction.
“We wanted to show the return to adventure,” it is said shortly after in the stream about the cinematic. Apparently a good decision, as initial reactions show.

The release of Dragonflight is getting closer. On November 16, the second phase of the pre-patch starts, including the “Dracthyr Callers” that players can take on and customize.
The new zone “The Forbidden Island” will also come into play, along with the event “Primal Storms”.
