The vampire battle royale Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is officially dead. Fans are saying goodbye to the shooter on Steam.
Which game is it? Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt was a battle royale set in the World of Darkness universe. Players could engage in the conflict between different vampire factions in atmospheric Prague, using not only firearms but also supernatural abilities.
The quirky mixture certainly had its fans, but it could never really establish itself. Therefore, in 2023, just a year after release, the content updates were halted. In October 2025, the developers Sharkmob announced that the game would now be completely discontinued.
On April 28, 2026, it finally happened: Bloodhunt is officially dead. Players are saying goodbye on Steam, including veterans and those who wanted to become one.
What the community says: On Steam, Bloodhunt saw a strong increase in positive reviews as a farewell and now stands at “Very Positive” among recent reviews. Many players have logged over 50 hours. It shows: The shooter wasn’t bad, but it lacked content.
The player Ryepie is at the other end of the scale: Her Steam account shows only 1.5 hours in the game, yet she wrote a review on April 23: “Wow, I somehow loved this game! I’m so disappointed that the game announced it was going offline just as I started playing! What a shame. But a great concept. […] I’m sad I didn’t discover it earlier!”
Other players especially appreciate the atmosphere and aesthetics. Some say they could never really get into battle royales, but Bloodhunt convinced them nonetheless.
