For over a year, the three Twitch streamers Trymacs, Chefstrobel, and Rumathra have been attempting the Pokémon challenge Trio-Soullink in Pokémon Black/White 2. Now, the project is paused due to a dispute between Trymacs and Chefstrobel. The trigger: a discussion on how difficult a Pokémon battle was.
What is this Pokémon challenge? Over a year ago – in June 2025 – the Twitch streamers Trymacs, Chefstrobel, and Rumathra started their Trio-Soullink challenge. They are playing through the Pokémon Black/White 2 edition with particularly tough rules:
- On each route, only the Pokémon encountered first may be caught and added to the team.
- Defeated Pokémon are considered deceased and may not be used again.
- The Pokémon of the three are interconnected. For instance, if one of Trymacs’ Pokémon dies, the associated Pokémon with Rumathra and Chefstrobel also die.
- If one loses all 6 Pokémon in battle and consequently faints in the game, the challenge must be restarted from the beginning.
- The goal is to earn all eight badges and then defeat the Elite Four plus the Champion.
So far, Trymacs, Chefstrobel, and Rumathra have not been able to secure the challenge for themselves. The three also locked themselves in an apartment together to finally complete the game, but they ultimately failed there after 95 hours.
The project enjoys high popularity within the community. Looking at the statistics of Trymacs on SullyGnome, a peak viewer count between 15,000 and 20,000 viewers is often recorded.
The 84th run, in which the streamers are, looks very promising, as all have strong Pokémon teams. But just now, the project is on hold.
Dispute ends in stream termination
What is this dispute about? The Trio-Soullink stream on July 7, 2026, was supposed to be the last for now. Emotions ran high when Trymacs could have lost his Maxax against an Arceus in battle. According to Chefstrobel, Trymacs exaggerated the battle’s difficulty.
For a long time, the two argued about the severity of the fight, while Rumathra kept out of the disputes. The conflict ended with Trymacs closing his game and ending his stream.
Even before this, tensions had been brewing between the Trio-Soullink, as Trymacs and Rumathra frequently accused Chefstrobel of not paying proper attention during battles. The three have had their disagreements, but now it seems a point for a break has been reached.
As the Trio-Soullink challenge is a fan-favorite format, viewers reacted with disappointment. Comments under the corresponding YouTube video from Chefstrobel expressed that it is really unfortunate
that the challenge will not continue for now.
What does Trymacs say about it? Trymacs briefly addressed the incident in one of his streams (highlight on YouTube). He confirmed that the project is currently on hold indefinitely and stressed that he and Chefstrobel are still friends. The two wish to resolve the situation outside of the streams.
