A topic is currently trending in the community of Apex Legends: hacks. The number of cheaters and fraudsters seems to be slowly getting out of hand. So much so that even well-known figures in the scene are now publicly intervening.
What exactly is the problem? On many channels and especially on Reddit, reports of sightings of hackers and cheaters are currently on the rise. More and more people are observing other players eliminating their opponents with superhuman precision.
The trade and distribution of hacks and cheats are also increasing. A Reddit user has apparently discovered that a larger group of players is exchanging information on various channels to distribute corresponding software or support each other.
In Apex Legends itself, players keep encountering non-human bots that merely spam their offers for cheating software in text and voice chat. The bots spread their messages and then disappear from the game before the actual round begins.

Prominent players are raising awareness about the hacks: The world-renowned streamer Dr DisRespect has been playing Apex Legends for some time and has previously complained about certain content. However, he interrupted one of his recent streams for an important announcement:
It’s getting worse and worse. I need to send out a public warning immediately. Alarm! Respawn Entertainment, Electronic Arts, creators of Madden: Your hackers are thriving in the brand new Apex Legends. This is a virus, we need to take them out. Alarm!
Even the presumably best Apex player in the world, Dizzy, has already noticed the problem. During a match, he was killed by a player who hit him with pinpoint shots from a weapon that is otherwise considered rather inaccurate, the M600 Spitfire.
Dizzy then observed him and quickly realized that the player could accurately track his opponents even through walls and behind objects and fire immediately without significant recoil on the weapon. According to his profile, the player has more than 3000 kills.
How do I recognize hacks, how do I report them?
This is how hacks affect the game: Hackers can easily ruin the entire game in Apex Legends. Against many hacks like aimbots (automated targeting), wallhacks (visibility through walls), map hacks (positions of all players on the map), or invulnerability, little or nothing can be done.
The hackers win nearly every fight and round, which can quickly lead to frustration and helplessness among players. Although Apex Legends is already more successful than Fortnite, this problem could have serious consequences if it is not addressed.
A good way to recognize hackers are impossibly high kill counts (3000 or more), no missed shots, and no recoil or “pre-firing,” meaning firing before the opponent is visible.
What is being done about it? The problem has been known for some time. Already an aspiring Apex pro ruined his contract with an eSports organization through cheats.
Currently, there is no effective way to report hackers. There is an anti-cheat system from EA itself, which, however, according to many users has almost no effect in Apex Legends.
Your currently only way to report a hacker is through EA itself. For this, there is an official website from EA where cheaters can be reported. However, you will need the name of the corresponding player, so you will need to remember it. Support is only available in English.
Have you encountered many hackers, or is this problem rather foreign to you?
A completely different problem has now apparently been largely resolved:
