On May 28, 2026, an anniversary stream will take place for the 10th anniversary of The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. Just this announcement is enough to raise hopes and fuel the imagination of many fans. And it looks like those hopes are well-founded.
Update from May 27, 2026 – 9:00 AM: Events are escalating. In the Polish version of the CD Projekt RED launcher, an entry for a new DLC for The Witcher 3 has now actually appeared (certainly too early). Corresponding images are currently circulating, for example, here on X:
The name of the DLC is apparently: The Witcher 3: Pieśni przeszłości, which means “The Songs of the Past”. The release of the DLC seems to be planned for 2027.

In the video description, it says: “Together with Kacper Niepokólczycki and Magdalena Zych, we return once again to the land of knights, vineyards, and vampires! We look forward to seeing you in Toussaint and in the chat!” Kacper Niepokólczycki is the Environment Art Director at CD Project RED. Magdalena Zych is a Senior Writer and Story Coordinator.
An announcement that raises hopes
How are fans reacting to the announcement? Rumors and hints about a third DLC for The Witcher 3 have been around for a while. The colleagues at GamePro compiled all known information in this overview a few weeks ago. Therefore, it is not surprising that the sudden announcement of a stream for The Witcher 3 is now raising corresponding hopes.

Why the anticipation? Apart from the fact that The Witcher 3 is one of the best, most successful, and most popular role-playing games of the past decades, both DLCs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, were more than worth their price.
The author of this text particularly considers the current birthday child, Blood and Wine, to be one of the best expansions ever made available as a download for a game. Toussaint is simply a beautiful region. The story of the DLC not only entertains splendidly, but there are also different paths that you can take, making multiple playthroughs worthwhile.
Additionally, new features such as mutations, a dyeing system, and the Witcher estate were introduced. This had the scope of a full-priced RPG but the price of a DLC. If the developers decide to bring The Witcher 3 back for a third DLC, one can assume that they will not do so for a disappointing quick shot. Or do you see it differently?
