A gamer completed Crimson Desert in less than 12 hours. Most players need almost 3 full days for this.
What game is it about? In March 2026, the release of Crimson Desert, the extensive single-player role-playing game from Pearl Abyss, took place. Shortly after the release of this ambitious title, it was clear: This is a game you can invest hundreds of hours into. One player had already logged over 300 hours after just under 3 weeks.
There is simply so much to do and discover in Crimson Desert – and depending on how focused you are on the main story or how easily you get distracted, you could spend countless days in the game. For MeinMMOs MMORPG expert Karsten, Crimson Desert changed significantly after about 140 hours, as he unlocked an important feature in Act 11.
Even if you follow the main story closely, HowLongToBeat states that you should need around 62.5 hours on average – all the more astonishing that a player has now achieved this in less than half a day.
What about the gamer’s playtime? The player is the Canadian speedrunner “Harpo669,” who completed the role-playing game from Pearl Abyss in just 11 hours and 26 minutes and shared his record attempt with the speedrun community (speedrun.com).
Harpo669 is nearly an hour faster than his only competitor so far, an American speedrunner named “GuryDub,” who took 12 hours and 20 minutes.

Have the speedrunners cheated? No! The runs of the two speedrunners are called “Any% (Glitchless)” speedruns. This means their goal is to reach the credits. However, it does not matter how much percent of the total game they have completed. “Glitchless” means that glitches and other exploits are forbidden, and they only use the game mechanics intended by the developer.
In contrast, speedruns that fall into the “Any%” or “Any% Unrestricted” category allow you to glitch through walls or use similar tricks to skip areas of the game.
The German speedrunner “Muftaay” gave us some insights into the speedrun world in an interview in 2022. He has one of the fastest runs of Elden Ring with just under 20 minutes, for which most players take significantly longer: German player holds the speedrun record in Elden Ring: “I have a folder with 120 save files”
