As the community of Palworld welcomes another player, they are immediately ready to dig up the best tips for newcomers that they wish they had known at the start.
What sparked this helpfulness? A new player posted a Reddit post in the Palworld subreddit, as he, being a complete newcomer, would like to hear some input from more experienced players.
He purchased the game for Xbox a day earlier and has been having a great time since then. However, he is unsure about what to expect throughout the game and how he should prepare accordingly. Especially concerning the upgrades for his base and catching Pals, he doesn’t know how to proceed.
The community not only welcomes the newcomer with open arms, but they also provide him with the tips they wish they had heard at the start.
What things a newcomer should directly address … and which definitely not
What advice do veterans offer regarding Pals? Players have plenty of tips that can help a newcomer in the game, especially if they are not sure what knowledge in Palworld is particularly helpful at the start. One of the most important pieces of advice that is frequently mentioned in the Reddit thread:
Catch everything! This not only gives you the most experience points, especially at the beginning, but also an XP bonus for the first 10 Pals of a kind.
“The early Chillet boss takes you quite far, it’s good. Foxsparks goes brrrrrrr. Ragnahawks are objectively the coolest flying mounts, don’t even try to disagree,” says SuperSaiyanBen about Pals that should be given special focus. And speaking of flying mounts …
Try to quickly find a flying Pal, as this can make things much easier right from the start, as gorenator116 explains: “Get yourself a flying companion and a saddle as soon as possible to uncover the map further and not have to worry so much about climbing cliffs anymore.”
However, the Pal that should be left alone at first is Mammorest. Many players agree, even though it may seem tempting, as he is simply too strong – at least at the start. “I’m glad I’m not the only one who got completely crushed by Mammorest,” admits Nri_Eye under the post.
What does the community say about the first base in the game? When it comes to the first base, many players agree that the first base should be more of a means to an end rather than a fully equipped place.
“Don’t worry about destroying your base to build a new one. There’s nothing you can’t get back,” writes gorenator, and KapatainKesh adds that there will probably never be a perfect base in the game that’s better than the next: “You’ll get better at building bases. They are incredibly important for progress and can be built for various purposes.”
And in addition to that, the player offers another tip that even some veterans didn’t know: instead of going to each chest to drop off new supplies, you can select the option in the inventory to automatically store individual items when they are already in stacks in the chest. This saves a lot of time and travel.
Another tip from Vertigo50, while not directly answering the newcomer’s questions, gives him an important reminder about the journey in Palworld: “Just have fun. Don’t worry about min/maxing and don’t get stressed. Discover new things, find a few favorite Pals, level them up, replace them, etc. Just enjoy the game and have fun.”
