The remake Halo: Campaign Evolved is actually set to release next week. However, those willing to spend more money can start as early as tomorrow.
How can you play the remake earlier? If you want to play Halo: Campaign Evolved before its actual release on July 28, 2026, you need to pre-order the Premium Edition. This allows you to start a full 5 days earlier, meaning you can play as soon as tomorrow, on July 23.
For this, you need to pay around €79.99, whether you want to play on PC, Xbox, or PS5. That’s about €20 more than the standard version, which you can begin playing from the 28th.
In addition, you will receive some extra content with the Premium Edition, such as:
- Alpha Halo Armor Pack with 5 Master Chief Armor Skins and 6 Weapon Skins
- Digital Artbook “Art of Halo: Campaign Evolved”

Halo: Combat Evolved in a new guise
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a complete remake of the single-player campaign of the very first Halo: Combat Evolved, developed from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. It was developed by the Halo Studios to mark the 25th anniversary of the legendary shooter series.
As the name suggests, the title foregoes a classic competitive multiplayer mode and focuses entirely on the story. The original campaign has not only been visually updated and equipped with reworked cutscenes but also expanded with three new prequel missions that offer fresh environments, new enemy types, and more narrative background. The classic combat system has also been noticeably modernized with mechanics from later installments.
The complete story can also be played co-op: On consoles, it can even be played locally in split-screen mode in the classic way. Alternatively, there is an online co-op mode for up to four players, supporting full crossplay and cross-progression between PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
