2. Obi-Wan vs Anakin

What makes this fight so good? The grand finale of the prequel trilogy is the fight between Obi-Wan and Anakin on Mustafar. It is the last step of Anakin to the dark side of the Force, and for Obi-Wan, a friend is lost.
The fight on the lava planet is remarkable, even if the CGI is not always great. You can feel the emotions of both. This is also evident in their sword strikes.
Anakin is driven by rage, but Obi-Wan does not want to fight at all. He regrets what has happened. Although Hayden Christensen’s acting is not always great, Ewan McGregor makes up for it.
It might be worse choreographed than the other entries on the list, but as an emotional conclusion to a trilogy, the fight works really well.
1. Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader (first battle)

What makes this fight so good? The best fight in the entire history of Star Wars is probably the first battle between Luke and Darth Vader. No place suits the dark lord as much as the metallic arena, slightly illuminated by orange lights.
The fog and the lighting make Vader more than just a villain. He is a brutal force against which Luke has no chance. This is also evident in the fight.
The fight is actually only set up by the breathing and the sound of the lightsabers, which makes it impressive and memorable. You can tell that Luke has no chance and that it is less of a fight but more of a conflict with his fate.
The lightsaber duel itself is also striking. Few strikes, but they are powerful and forceful. It shows that one can also make a great Sci-Fi fight more subtle.
