How was this list created? In the universe of Star Wars, there are many ways battles are fought. Therefore, we limited ourselves to 2 aspects for this list:
- We only consider battles from the movies, not from the series
- It is about the choreography and staging, as well as the relevance to the story

7. Kylo Ren vs Rey
Which movie is the scene from? Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
What makes this fight so good? The sequel trilogy did a lot wrong, at least for many fans of the series. However, some action scenes are definitely worth watching. This includes the fight between Rey and Kylo Ren on a destroyed machine in the sea.
The rain and the waves of the sea nicely stage the lightsabers and the differences between Rey and Kylo Ren. The duel has impact in some movements, and especially Adam Driver showcases a significant presence.
The ending of the fight with the emotional scene
unfortunately doesn’t work, and Rey’s suddenly appearing ability seems a bit silly and out of the blue.
6. Kylo Ren and Rey vs the Guards of Snoke
Which movie is the scene from? Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi (2019)
What makes this fight so good? In the sequel trilogy, it is also much about breaking the cycle of Sith and Jedi. This does not always work well, but this fight represents it well.
The dynamics between Kylo Ren and Rey are good here, and especially Adam Driver fights very entertainingly with his iconic lightsaber. Although there are detail issues in the choreography, especially as some movements do not always seem sensible, it is definitely a fun fight, even if the scene is a bit too red.
