What kind of game is this? World of Jade Dynasty is an Asian MMORPG in Wuxia style developed by Perfect World Games. It takes place in the same universe as the original MMORPG Jade Dynasty from 2007 and offers an open world. Players can immerse themselves in the role of heroes experiencing adventures in a world inspired by Chinese mythology.
The MMORPG places a strong emphasis on narrative elements and offers a variety of quests, dungeons, and world bosses that can be tackled solo or in groups. Additionally, there is an extensive crafting system and social features like guilds that promote player interaction. World of Jade Dynasty is a typical theme-park MMORPG that aims to offer something to as many players as possible.
What sets the graphics apart? World of Jade Dynasty impresses with breathtaking graphics made possible by the use of Unreal Engine 5. The game world is richly detailed, featuring splendid landscapes, traditional Chinese architecture, and dynamic weather effects that provide an immersive gaming experience.

The game combines a subscription model with a battle pass and cosmetic in-game shop. The prices for the subscription model were determined by players in China through a survey, but how it will look for a global release remains unclear. Here, the developers could take a page from Throne and Liberty and lean towards Pay2Win.
In addition to typical MMO elements like dungeons, quests, and world bosses, there are dynamic weather and environmental mechanics directly affecting gameplay. Rain can, for example, increase spell ranges or wind directions can influence the range of arrows.
What sets the graphics apart? The graphics of Throne and Liberty utilize a highly optimized engine that allows for a huge, contiguous world without loading screens. The environments are variably designed, from expansive landscapes to detailed cities and dark dungeons. Even the view into the distance does not ruin the picture.
