The community of Warhammer 40,000 has found a new favorite. The latest warrior of a tabletop player is currently capturing thousands of hearts and is dubbed an “unfair advantage.”

Who is the new warrior of the army? Images of a Tyranid warrior appeared in the Warhammer 40,000 subreddit. Tyranids are an insect species and one of the greatest threats in the Warhammer universe. The self-made model is Wormy.

But Wormy is not just cute; he is so cute that countless tabletop players are at his feet, even though a worm doesn’t even have feet. But better see for yourself what Wormy looks like.

Wormy is introduced as the newest member of his Tyranid army. Additionally, the user asks for feedback on his painting technique. With Wormy, he tested the so-called “glazing.” This is a technique where multiple layers of heavily diluted paint are applied.

This is supposed to create a nice gradient of colors, as seen on Wormy at the transition from the purple chitin plate to his head. The light shadows between the individual spherical body segments were also painted with this technique.

Thousands have suddenly fallen in love with Wormy

What does the Warhammer community say about Wormy? So far, the post has gathered over 9,300 upvotes (as of April 10, 2026, at 8:30 AM). After the post was published, there were a lot of comments from other Warhammer fans who claimed to have fallen in love with Wormy.

The top comment with 1,000 upvotes features an edited image with Wormy in focus and reads: “I only met Wormy a day and a half ago, but if anything happened to him, I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.” It is a Wormy version of a meme from the series Brooklyn 99.

Another Reddit user has claimed they would never allow the poster to bring Wormy into a game of Warhammer against them. Their reasoning: Wormy is just too cute to kill and thus provides a real “unfair advantage.”

What do you think of Wormy, and have you perhaps even created your own warriors for your Warhammer army?

In addition to miniatures like Wormy, which has won the hearts of many players, there are many other interesting or even rare models. A Reddit user with little Warhammer experience got a cool toy for only 22 euros. They were not aware that it was a rare and valuable miniature from 30 years ago: Lucky guy pays 22 euros for an old figure because it looked cool – Warhammer 40,000 community reveals enviously: That’s a valuable treasure
