How does multiplayer work? You can invite other players to your game world in Subnautica 2 at any time, and they can leave just as easily without affecting your game. You host your game world for your fellow players. This means your fellow players cannot continue playing without you.
If you invite fellow players, you can explore, gather resources, and build together. There will also be the possibility to share save files, as is the case with the survival hit Windrose, so you can keep your progress – albeit in a somewhat cumbersome way.

You can play Subnautica 2 with up to 4 players, including yourself, at the same time.
Is multiplayer optional?
Yes, Subnautica 2 is designed as a solo game, but you can also enjoy it in co-op. So you can invite friends to join your game at any time or play the game completely alone.
Is there crossplay?
Yes, you can play with friends who are on Xbox, even if you are playing on PC. Whether there will be any more consoles in the future on which you can play Subnautica 2, and whether crossplay will be possible with them, is currently unknown.
Is there a character editor?
No, you can only choose from 4 predefined characters that bring unique abilities and customization options. During the early access phase, however, more characters are expected to be added.
Subnautica 2 draws you into the mystical and dangerous depths of the ocean like its predecessors. Many players can hardly wait to dive into the action.
