In Pokémon Legends Z-A, there is a resource called Mega Shards that you can exchange for valuable items. Where you can exchange them and what for you will find out here.
What are Mega Shards? Mega Shards are a resource in Pokémon Legends Z-A that you can obtain by attacking the pink crystals within the city with a Pokémon or by completing quests. The resulting shards then end up in your inventory and can be exchanged for powerful items.
Where can you exchange the shards? At the Quazar Corporation Tower. You will find it west of Wild Zone 3. However, to enter the tower, you must have reached a certain point in the story.
How do you unlock the exchange? To be able to exchange Mega Shards at the tower, you must first reach Rank F in the Z-A Royale within the story and defeat Vincent, the secretary of the Quazar Corporation. His Pokémon are Level 30, so your Pokémon should roughly be at that level as well.
Is there a limit? According to our community, there is a maximum of 999 Mega Shards in your inventory. Therefore, you should always use them promptly when you have accumulated a certain amount. Anything beyond that will not be added to your inventory, and you will collect it in vain.
What do you get for the Mega Shards? Once accessible, you can exchange the shards for important Mega Stones at the tower, which you need to trigger the Mega Evolution of certain Pokémon. The stones must fit the respective Pokémon and be given to them to carry. In addition to Mega Stones, you can also receive XP Candies for the shards, making them worthwhile even if you already have all the Mega Stones.
Which Mega Stones you can get at the tower will be covered in the next section.

The exchanged Mega Stones are needed to bring your Pokémon to their Mega Evolutions. However, some Pokémon only evolve when you trade them with other players. One player has thought about how you can do this even without friends and developed a code system: Pokémon Legends Z-A: All Trade Codes for Evolutions – How You Can Get Them Without Friends
