The Super Mega Raids in Pokémon GO present a special challenge. How to complete them is explained by MeinMMO.
What are Super Mega Raids? These Raids are a special form of Mega Raids that you have known for years in Pokémon GO. You can find particularly strong Mega Monsters only in this type of Raid, such as Mega Dragonite or Mega Mewtwo.
To successfully complete these Raids, you need to pay attention to a special mechanic, be well prepared, and act accordingly. We will explain what you need to pay attention to.
What is important in Super Mega Raids
What should be considered? Bosses that you challenge in Super Mega Raids have a crucial difference from normal Mega Bosses: the shields. A boss activates these during the battle.
To break these, you need your own Mega Monsters. Each Trainer can break exactly one shield of the Boss with their Mega Monster.
You should therefore bring a sufficient number of Trainers to the battle to break the Boss’s shields. It is also important that each Trainer has a Mega Evolution participating in the battle. Active Mega Evolutions are limited to one evolution per Trainer.
Does it also work with Proto Monsters? No. While the two Protoforms of Kyogre and Groudon are very similar to Mega Evolutions, they cannot break the Boss’s shields in Super Mega Raids. For this, you really need to rely on pure Mega Monsters.
What rewards are there in Super Mega Raids? First, you will naturally receive the Mega Monster itself. These Pokémon also directly possess Mega Level 1, so you do not need to farm Mega Energy to unlock the first Mega Level.
Additionally, you will receive more Mega Energy in Super Mega Raids than in regular Mega Raids. You can then use this to further increase the Mega Level of the monster.
