In Pokémon GO, Gigantamax Pikachu will appear soon. Meanwhile, a research that has become customary is noticeably absent.
Next week you will encounter Gigantamax Pikachu in Pokémon GO. The gigantic electric mouse will appear on power sources from Saturday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will pose a challenging obstacle.
In the past, Gigantamax bosses have come into play. Usually, one could prepare for the battle against them the week before. Typically, a special timed research started that provided, among other things, Dyna particles and also a viable counter for the monster on the weekend.
However, regarding Pikachu Day, it is currently: nothing. No research has appeared in Pokémon GO, and the event announcement also lacked research. Therefore, it is to be expected that there will be no more. This frustrates some players.
Players miss the preparatory research
In the subreddit TheSilphRoad for Pokémon GO, the lack of research is being discussed. A post in the subreddit highlighted the absence of research and called it a negative change – and finds support in the comments.
Particularly the missing Dyna particles are criticized by some players as this research was a good option to earn free resources for a few battles. I will just do one and then I’m out

Others emphasize that they see the change as another negative point of the currently started season: They are really ruining everything this season

Others mention that Pikachu is likely not going to be very important in the Gigantamax meta and therefore they do not plan to catch many specimens. They only want one for the Pokédex.
