In Pokémon GO, a popular event has been weakened. This has resulted in little joy within the community.
There are times in Pokémon GO when fewer events take place. It is during these times that the so-called Evergreen Weeks have been introduced. Here, you must choose a path and receive different rewards based on your choice. These include temporary bonuses.
The next Evergreen Week starts on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. And with this, there is a change that is causing frustration within the community.
“They really want us buying incubators huh?”
What is this change? If you chose the exploring path in the past, you could also choose a bonus for hatching eggs. The distance required for hatching was halved.
This bonus has now been removed. While with the “fighting” choice, you can now only choose additional mysterious components from Team Rocket and with the “catching” choice, you can receive additional candies or stardust, with the “exploring” choice, you only have the 5 times the amount of experience points when spinning PokéStops.
How is the community reacting to this? As expected, the change is not well received in the community. Especially due to other changes in recent times, such as the reduction of Rocket balloons, this new change fits into a negatively perceived development of the game by many trainers.

- “They removed the hatch distance one? They REALLLLLLY want us buying incubators huh?”, says Archibald4000 on Reddit
- “I normally pick the Rocket Grunt option, but with the reduction in balloons, it’s not much of a bonus anymore.
- I don’t understand how their recent nerfs and now removing the half hatch option, does anything other than reduce players interactions with the game”, notes MuelNado on Reddit.
- “Scopely’s speedrunning the end of this game”, comments Ph987 on Reddit
