Pokémon GO kicks off the Fusion Raid Day with Kyurem. This is one of the best monsters you can catch. How do you get it?
When does the Raid Day with Kyurem start? It runs on Saturday, January 10, 2026. It starts at 2:00 PM and ends at 5:00 PM.
What is the highlight? During the event, you will encounter the Black and White Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom in raids. These are the Pokémon you need for the fusion of the two stronger versions of Kyurem. Additionally, you may encounter the Pokémon with increased shiny chances.
To challenge them, you need raid passes. During the event, you can get up to five free passes by spinning gyms. However, the next free pass only becomes available after you have used the last one.
So the best way is as follows:
- Defeat the monster you need in the raid.
- Immediately spin the gym and grab the next raid pass.
- Move to the next gym to start another raid.
Important: The Pokémon rotate every half hour. For half an hour, you will encounter Reshiram and the Black Kyurem, then Zekrom and the White Kyurem will appear in the next half hour. Depending on what you are after, you should make the most of the times. Because regarding the fusion, there are a few points to consider.
Fusion for White and Black Kyurem – How does it work?
How do I fuse a Kyurem? Basically, you need two Pokémon for the fusion: a Kyurem that preferably knows the move “Ice Time” and either a Zekrom or Reshiram.
Additionally, you will need 1,000 units of fusion energy – and depending on the Pokémon you want to end up with, these are different variations. And you will also need candies.
In total, the materials look like this:
- Black Kyurem: 1,000 Volt Energies, Kyurem, Zekrom, 30 Kyurem candies, 30 Zekrom candies
- White Kyurem: 1,000 Fire Energies, Kyurem, Reshiram, 30 Kyurem candies, 30 Reshiram candies
This is important, as it takes many raids to gather the resources for one of the two variants. Depending on how many raid passes you have and how many raids you can complete in time, you should focus on one of the variants and catch the corresponding Pokémon.
How do I obtain fusion energies? You obtain fusion energy by battling the corresponding version of Kyurem. A White Kyurem gives you fire energy and a normal Kyurem. You also need a Reshiram. Therefore, the plan for the White Kyurem would be to catch a Reshiram (if you don’t have one yet) and use your remaining passes for the White Kyurem.
For the Black Kyurem, the same applies, just the other way around, with Zekrom and the Black Kyurem.
Important: After the fusion, your new Kyurem takes on the stats and shiny status of Kyurem, not of Zekrom or Reshiram. Furthermore, both versions have different special moves and adventure effects. However, it is crucial that Kyurem knows “Ice Time” before the fusion. Otherwise, it will not receive the special move.
