Pokémon GO brings the next Gigantamax Pokémon: Meowth! What does the money cat have to offer?
When does Gigantamax Meowth appear? Gigantamax Meowth appears on February 15 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Dynamax battles.
As is common with the Gigantamax feature, this is a level 6 battle – a battle that can be fought with up to 40 trainers together. The battles will take place at all energy sources in the game.
What bonuses are active? The following bonuses are active:
- Gigantamax Meowth can be shiny, but it cannot evolve
- The particle limit is increased to 1,600
- You receive eight times the amount of particles from energy sources
- Four special trades are possible
- The remote raid limit is raised to 20 (already from 1:00 AM and until 5:00 AM the following day).
From 12:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you will also receive double the amount of Dyna particles while walking and the distance for this is reduced to a quarter.
Is it worth fighting Gigantamax Meowth?
Gigantamax Meowth is already the 16th Giga Pokémon to appear since the introduction of the Dynamax feature in Pokémon GO.
The elongated cat will currently be one of the weaker Gigantamax monsters. As a normal-type Pokémon, it brings no special effectiveness in battle. Consequently, you will hardly use it as an attacker in upcoming Dynamax battles.
However, it will likely also be somewhat easier to defeat than other Dynamax Pokémon. For collectors, the battle could be interesting, as easier Gigantamax battles are rare.
The future of Gigantamax: With Meowth, we have reached half of all known Gigantamax Pokémon so far. A little glimpse forward is worth it: Which monsters can actually still appear in Pokémon GO?
Currently, the following Gigantamax Pokémon are still missing:
- Pikachu
- Eevee
- Melmetal
- Corviknight
- Maritellit
- Kamalm
- Montecarbo
- Drapfel
- Schlapfel
- Sanaconda
- Infernopod
- Silembrim
- Pokusan
- Patinaraja
- Duraludon
- Wulaosu (two forms)
It took just over a year to release the first 16 Giga Pokémon. Whether the second half will come as quickly remains to be seen.
The appearance of Gigantamax Meowth follows directly after the debut of the spirit form of Cupidos. The two are among the more exciting Pokémon appearing this month. But the Kalos Tour also has some interesting content to offer – and more dates are still coming. You can find all the important ones in our list of all events in Pokémon GO in February 2026.
