What is a Spotlight Hour? It is a short event that is active for only 60 minutes. It takes place every Tuesday and brings you at least one Pokémon that is highlighted during this time. The Pokémon is accompanied by a bonus.
The last Spotlight Hour in February 2026 takes place on February 24, 2026. During this event, you can expect Totodile, the Water-type starter from the 2nd generation. This Pokémon can evolve into Totodile and then into Feraligatr.
Spotlight Hour on February 24, 2026 – Start Time and Bonuses
When does the event start? Like every Tuesday, this week’s Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM. After 60 minutes, at 7:00 PM, the short event ends again.
What bonus is active? If you catch Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of Stardust. However, Totodile is not a Pokémon from which you receive more Stardust for catching.
Can you catch Shiny Totodile? Yes, you can also catch the Shiny variant of Totodile during the event. However, the chance is not increased.
Is the event worth it? Yes. If you evolve Totodile to its final stage, Feraligatr, you can expect a fairly strong Pokémon.
Impergator is one of the best Water-type attackers in Pokémon GO. If you need strong Pokémon, you can use the Spotlight Hour to fill this gap somewhat. However, to use Feraligatr effectively, you need to teach it the charged move Hydro Cannon.
Since this is an exclusive move, you usually need to use an Elite Charged TM for it.
