In Pokémon GO, the event Summer Marathon: Arctic Glow begins. MeinMMO has summarized all the content of the event.
When does the event start? The event starts on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM. It ends on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 8:00 PM.
Which monsters are special? Special mention goes to Snomnom. You can obtain this small monster from generation 8 for the first time in its Shiny form. Snomnom has an evolution called Mottineva. You can get it at the event through the GO Pass and hatch it from eggs.
What’s included in the Summer Marathon
Which monsters are there at the event? In addition to the Shiny debut of Snomnom, there are 4 monsters that have an increased Shiny chance during the event. These are Ponita, Schneckmag, Shnebedeck, and Gelatini.
You can obtain all 4 monsters in field research as well as in the wild. You will find them in the wild on the following days:
- Ponita and Shnebedeck: August 4, 6, 8, and 10
- Schneckmag and Gelatini: August 5, 7, 9, and 10
In addition, the following monsters await you in the wild:
- Vulpix*
- Alola Vulpix*
- Fukano*
- Quiekel*
- Schneppke*
From 5 km eggs, you can hatch the following Pokémon:
- Sniebel*
- Flampion*
- Galar Flampion*
- Thermopod*
- Snomnom*
Monsters marked with a * can also be obtained in their Shiny forms.
What’s included in the GO Pass? The appropriate GO Pass is available for the entire duration of the event. Here, among other things, the following rewards await you:
- Encounter with event monsters
- Stardust
- Experience points
- Rare candy
- Ultra Balls
- double experience points when spinning PokéStops (from level 10)
- halved hatch distance for eggs put into incubators during the event (from level 20)

What’s included in the timed research? At the start of the event, you will receive a timed research task, which you can complete until August 10, 2026, at 8:00 PM. Here you receive 16,800 experience points and an encounter with Pikachu wearing a Marathon visor.
