But the evolution of Wurmple is often discussed because there is a question mark on the evolve button. Here we show you everything we know about the topic.
Influencing Wurmple’s evolution to Silcoon or Cascoon – Is that possible?
How does Wurmple evolve? There are two possible evolutionary paths:
- Wurmple evolves into Silcoon and that evolves into Beautifly
- Wurmple evolves into Cascoon and that evolves into Dustox
To evolve Wurmple into Silcoon or Cascoon, you need to use 12 candies. For the evolution into Beautifly or Dustox, you then need 50 candies.
Can you influence the evolution? No, you cannot influence Wurmple’s evolution to Silcoon or Cascoon. It is subject to chance. For other Pokémon, like Eevee, you can control the evolutions with nicknames.
In the original Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire games, where Wurmple first appeared, its evolution depended on a binary number in the game. Trainers had no influence on that and basically left chance to decide whether Wurmple becomes a Silcoon or a Cascoon. This is rather unusual for Pokémon evolutions.
Trainers are trying to figure out how they can influence Wurmple’s evolution in Pokémon GO. However, no conclusion has been reached yet.
