Pokémon GO celebrates the party for its 10th anniversary. We summarize what to expect at this event.
When does the event start? The party for the 10th anniversary begins on July 4 at 10:00 AM. It ends on July 6 at 8:00 PM. You can take advantage of the bonuses on that weekend and on Monday.
What is the event about? Pokémon GO was released on July 6, 2016. The game created a massive hype. Now, July 2026 marks this anniversary, among other things, with this event.
What is the highlight of the event? Gierspenst is in the spotlight during the anniversary party. You can catch this small coin Pokémon during the event with an anniversary coin, and it has a chance to be Shiny. Additionally, it may have a special background.

However, there are additional bonuses that are interesting!
All bonuses of the 10th anniversary in Pokémon GO
Catch bonuses: If you catch Pokémon during the event, you will receive quadruple catch XP and quadruple catch Stardust. So the catch walk is worth it.
Shinies: Wild event Pokémon
are expected to have an increased Shiny rate during the event. As of now, the following should be:
- Pikachu with cake hat
- Eevee with party hat
- Wurmple with party hat
Exclusive moves: You can obtain the best moves for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise through evolution. These three will become good attackers of their respective types with these moves and are definitely worth it.
- Evolve Bulbasaur to Venusaur, for Flora Statue
- Evolve Charmeleon to Charizard, for Flame Burst
- And Wartortle to Blastoise, for Hydro Cannon
Additionally, there will be new outfits for your avatars in the shop as well as a limited research task. The latter brings a Super Incubator, a Raid Pass, and an anniversary Gierspenst with a special background if you complete the research in time. The research costs $1.99 (similar in Euros).
