On Saturday, March 23, the Community Day in March starts with Treecko in Pokémon GO. We will tell you everything about start time, bonuses, and shinies so you can make the most of the event.
What are Community Days? Community Days are special events that take place once a month. For 3 hours, a special Pokémon will spawn more frequently in the wild. Additionally, there are worthwhile bonuses that round off the event.
In March 2019, it’s all about the Grass-type starter Treecko. It is the first starter from Generation 3 to have a Community Day.
Community Day in March – Exact Times and Bonuses
When: On Saturday, March 23, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM German time (GMT+1)
Pokémon of the Day: Treecko
Exclusive Move: Flora Statue (Only Sceptile)
Bonus: The distance needed to hatch eggs is reduced to a quarter
Bonus: 3-hour incenses
Additional Bonus: You can evolve your Sceptile to learn the exclusive move Flora Statue until 7 PM
These are the new times: Pay attention to the new event time. The Community Day does not start at 11 AM this time, but at 3 PM. It will last for 3 hours until 6 PM.
Shiny Treecko, Grovyle, and Sceptile
Will there be Shiny Treecko? The shiny form of Treecko has not yet been officially confirmed, but it is possible that Treecko will be available as shiny. In every Community Day so far, the event Pokémon has also been available as shiny.
What can Sceptile do with Flora Statue?
How can Sceptile learn Flora Statue? The exclusive move Flora Statue can only be obtained through evolution. You must evolve a Grovyle to Sceptile for this. However, this can only be done on Saturday between 3 PM and 7 PM. You will have an extra hour after the Community Day for the evolution. You cannot teach Flora Statue with TMs.
This is how strong Sceptile will be: The move greatly enhances Sceptile. After Roserade, it will become the best Grass-type attacker in the game. The damage per second that Sceptile deals with Flora Statue is very high. It is definitely worth evolving a Sceptile.
100% IV – This CP is needed for your Treecko
This weather boosts Treecko: Treecko is a Grass-type. Sunny weather gives the Pokémon a weather bonus.
This is how strong Treecko is in the wild: Treecko can reach a maximum of 902 CP without a weather bonus. This would be a Treecko with 10% IV at level 30. With a weather bonus, it can even reach a maximum of 977 CP at level 35.

The following list will help you evaluate Treecko. Copy this list into your search bar, and it will show you potential Treecko with 100%. However, there may also be Treecko at higher levels with lower IVs.
These items are useful on Community Day
- Incubators or Super Incubators – 9 pieces
- The bonus on this Community Day is the reduced egg distances. So, incubators are particularly worthwhile. If you play the full 3 hours, then you should have at least 9 incubators with you.
- Important: You should only put your eggs into the incubators after the event starts, because only then will the distance be reduced. If you put them in beforehand, you will have to walk the normal distances.
- Incense – 3 pieces or more
- Incense will last 3 hours during the event. It is worth using some, as they will attract Treecko more frequently.
- Sprays – 6 pieces
- Sprays are also a good way to get Treecko. If you use 6 pieces, you will be well-equipped for the event, as one incense lasts 30 minutes.
- Star Pieces – 6 pieces
- If you hatch as many eggs, you will also get a lot of stardust. Additionally, each catch gives you more dust. Star pieces further increase the stardust. They also last 30 minutes, so 6 pieces are important.
- Balls – 200 pieces or more
- Treecko will surely eat a lot of balls again. So, you should have a large supply ready. Especially Ultra and Great Balls are important here.
- GO Plus
- The GO Plus helps you catch Pokémon. You can catch them with a button press when you want to take a break.
