Trailers create expectations, and this is also the case with Palworld. The game was released in version 1.0 on July 10, 2026, and has left some players puzzled. They miss aspects that excited them in the trailer.
What kind of trailer is this? Just in time for the release of version 1.0, the developers released a new launch trailer. It featured – as in previous trailers – battles, farming, and numerous Pals.
Among other things, the trailer shows several towns and settlements teeming with Pals and players. This has sparked anticipation among some users, who now seem to be disappointed.
Here you can see the trailer for version 1.0 – the mentioned settlements can be seen from minute 0:35:
Gaping emptiness instead of lively places
What is the problem? On Reddit, the user Gamefreak118 has spoken out. He questions in his post where the promised lively settlements from the trailer are.
To illustrate the comparison, he went to a larger square in the game, which was also shown in the trailer. However, the difference quickly becomes apparent: In the finished game, there is hardly anything going on, while the square in the trailer is populated by several Pals and players.
This situation leaves the user puzzled: “Did I miss something? Did the developers blatantly lie in the trailer? The trailer shows a large number of Pals and people in the villages, but in the game, there is only a disturbingly small number.”
What does the community say about it? That the towns in the final game are less populated has also been noticed by others:
- “Many of the cutscenes are just renderings. Another snippet in the trailer shows pumpkins and melons on a farm, as well as a cage in a hostile camp that contains a Pal, which also does not appear in the game,” emphasizes GNIHTYUGNORSREP.
- “Hopefully, this will be fixed soon in a patch, because the towns feel deserted,” finds Helpful-Photo9408.
- “I visited half of the towns. Not much has changed. The trailers were definitely staged with objects and NPCs that do not appear in the game. Even many of the animations seen in the trailer are not present in the game,” writes whatfa in agreement.
That trailers are staged for presentation reasons is not new and happens often. In this case, however, the community’s concern is clear: Players desire lively towns. Despite all the criticism, the post also expresses a lot of praise for the developers. Version 1.0 has improved considerably and is great.
