The promising role-playing game Avowed is set to be released on February 18, 2025. Now, curious events on Steam have caused worries and confusion within the community.
What has happened on Steam? As user GAzvd reports in his thread on Reddit, Avowed has disappeared from his Steam library. However, the product page in the shop is still accessible and it shows that he has purchased the game.
Many other users are also reporting this mystery under his thread. The community hub has also been emptied, as user Turbostrider27 mentions in his thread on Reddit. All discussions, comments, and content have reportedly been deleted. The hub has since been revitalized, but the game still appears to be missing from the libraries.
This understandably leads to discussions among fans about what this could mean. So far, there has been no feedback from the developers regarding why the game is behaving so strangely on Steam.

Fans fear another delay
Why are players concerned? In the Reddit threads, fans fear that the release on February 18 might be in jeopardy. The game was previously delayed from Fall 2024 to February 2025, with the explanation that many other releases were scheduled for the fall and they wanted to use the time to polish the game further.
Another incident, which the developers have yet to comment on, adds to this concern. According to SteamDB.info, the start of Early Access was recently removed as well. This was supposed to begin on February 13 and had interested players paying a significant amount to participate. Accordingly, it is understandable that affected fans are worried.
What is the actual status of Avowed? A post on X.com from the developers offers reassurance on this matter. The release was officially confirmed again, stating it should be in about a month. Thus, fans can breathe easy – there seems to be nothing obstructing the release at least. However, why these things are happening on Steam remains unanswered.
