Some NPCs in games are so annoying that you’d rather remove them from the scene. A player has done this in Skyrim – not just once. The NPC has already met his demise over 40 times.
Excluding The Elder Scrolls Online, Skyrim is the latest installment in the popular role-playing series, even though it was released 12 years ago. It takes place in the province of “Skyrim”, known in German as “Himmelsrand”.
Who does the player kill in Skyrim? It is the NPC Nazeem, a Redguard in Skyrim. Nazeem lives in Whiterun in Himmelsrand.
His position at the Jarl’s court is said to have been “hard-earned”, which he likes to express at the market stalls where he hangs out during the day.
What is Nazeem all about? In the Elder Scrolls community, Nazeem has been considered a running gag for years. Many are annoyed by his arrogant and selfish demeanor.
For example, he says in a condescending tone: “Are you often in the Cloud District? Oh, what a question – of course you are not.” His wife Ahlam also speaks disparagingly about him, responding that one should best look “in the Jarl’s backside” when searching for Nazeem.
In an old Reddit thread, a user with a now-deleted account asks if someone could explain the Nazeem meme to him. In the comments, there are a few responses:
- “He is a conceited idiot. That’s why we make fun of him.”
- “There’s no need to explain this, just talk to him.”
- “Nazeem is a pompous guy who likes to emphasize how powerful he is.”
Others refer to the well-known quote of the NPC and respond to the inquirer: “Are you often in the Cloud District?”, while another writes: “What are you talking about? Of course he is not.”

The murderous creativity knows no bounds
While some grind in games to reach level 100, Reddit user Treppomann has made it his mission to log into the game daily to take out the NPC Nazeem around the corner. And he has already done this over 40 times in the last two months.
What does Treppomann do with the NPC? Treppomann’s “Killing Nazeem” journey began on April 16 on Reddit. In a thread about the game Skyrim, he has so far (as of June 8) posted 44 video contributions showing how he kills Nazeem:
He stabs him with a sword, flings him over cliffs into the waters using abilities, lets him fight giants, kills him as a Minecraft character with bow and arrow or as a Jedi with a lightsaber. Treppomann brings numerous creative ideas and mods to get rid of the irritating NPC.
In one video, you can see how he kills Nazeem with a piece of cheese that he throws at his head using telekinesis:
The community encourages him: In the comments under his video contributions, there are numerous suggestions on how he could kill Nazeem, some of which he then implemented. Many users ask him about mods and commands that Treppomann clearly uses.
Others write that he should just kill him as often as possible until a new installment of The Elder Scrolls comes out. To this, Treppomann responds: “By then, I will already have 7 grandchildren, but okay, I will try to do this for as long as possible.”
