In Subnautica 2 there are all sorts of dangers that the pioneers must face. A player has now found an unusual way to avoid them. However, that wasn’t necessary at all.
How does the player bypass the danger? Pioneer NotBailey12 shares on Reddit his proud work, where he built a massive bridge to get past the dangerous Collector Leviathan. The Leviathans patrol in certain areas and are meant to instill fear in players, as they can quickly ensure that you need to respawn.
To prevent that from happening, but still get past the Collector Leviathan, NotBailey12 apparently took some time and built a huge tunnel that allows him to stroll conveniently past it. According to one comment, he made around 80 trips from the construction site to his base to gather new materials.
Here you can see his work:
But the community has two opinions about this:
- That will surely be patched so that the Leviathans can also attack structures and buildings
- He didn’t need to go through all that trouble, as there are much easier ways
You can also just swim past
Why should this be patched? In the comments, many admire the player’s ambition and creative solution, but also think that a patch in the future will definitely destroy his construction. The user thenightgaunt writes: “This will be the reason why the developers will make it possible in the next update for shelters to be destroyed.”
Another user gets scared at the thought of completely different creatures and fears that the Nibbler-Mangos will shred everything to pieces before it’s even finished. Jeidoz mentions that the PDA already warns of Leviathans that destroy buildings, which is why the community considers it very likely that the developers will patch it.
And why should he not have gone through the trouble according to the community? Several users also point out to him that there are significantly less time-consuming options to get past the nasty monsters than painstakingly building a massive bridge. You can already divert their attention by staying close to the ground, the water surface, or “walls”.
Additionally, it’s enough to simply swim along the surface with your vehicle, as a Collector Leviathan does not go there. So, if you don’t necessarily need something from its area (which is unlikely, as most resources can be found elsewhere), you can simply bypass the Leviathans.
Was his plan useless then? No, not really. It depends on what you want and if you don’t mind possibly having to rebuild or redesign the bridge with a later update here and there. Some players mention in the comments that they also plan something similar to be able to observe the Leviathan, as it is much cooler to look for solutions in the water than just swimming past.
Do you also want to build a bridge or other structures to observe the Leviathans? Or are you more pragmatic and swimming past? Feel free to let us know in the comments!
