The new class in Path of Exile 2 is expected to bring new monetization opportunities for the developers. The head himself reveals what’s coming.
What is this new class? Fans of Path of Exile 2 have been waiting for months for the reveal of the new Druid class. With the expansion “The Last of the Druids”, it finally enters the game – and it stands out significantly from the previous characters. Alongside its human form, the class has three powerful animal forms that you can switch between depending on the situation.
- The Bear is slow but extremely robust and delivers heavy hits. Its playstyle revolves around rage: by filling the bar, you can unleash it for particularly strong attacks and abilities.
- The Wolf Form focuses on speed and cold damage. Through the marking mechanic, you automatically summon a supporting wolf pack after killing marked enemies.
- The Wyvern combines melee and ranged combat. It can fly, use fire or lightning, and gains its Power Charges by consuming corpses – these charges significantly enhance its attacks.
However, the new class is also expected to bring new revenue for the developers, as the head personally explains.

New Class, New Skins
What has the head announced? At a press presentation for the new season, MeinMMO was able to ask Jonathan Rogers, the head of Path of Exile 2, a few questions regarding the upcoming class. We wanted to know if there would be skins for the animal forms that are newly introduced into the game.
The head explained that they want to offer skins for the Druid’s animal forms. While he did not want to reveal the appearance yet, he mentioned that fans would get their money’s worth. The skins are likely to be offered as microtransactions for purchase.
Path of Exile 2 will thus receive a new category for customizing one’s appearance and perhaps being able to transform into a completely different animal instead of just a wolf. The possibilities in this direction seem endless.

When will the skins be available? The skins are expected to be available already at the launch of the new season “The Last of the Druids” on December 12. In addition to the new Druid class, there will also be a new season mechanic and major changes to skills and systems in the game. Whether there will also be new skins from China coming into the game remains open.
