The release of version 1.0 of the survival hit Palworld is less than a month away. Although there is no wipe, a new save file is still advisable according to the developers.
When will Palworld 1.0 be released? On July 10, 2026, it will finally happen, and Palworld will escape early access on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. Since January 2024, the survival game featuring Pokémon-like creatures has been available and was able to attract over 2 million simultaneous players on Steam at release.
Since some players feared that their save files would be deleted and that they would lose everything with the full version, there’s a concern about a wipe
. Palworld gives reassurance – but also a recommendation.

The optional wipe has a good reason
Why does the developer recommend starting anew? On X, the official account of Palworld gave reassurance that you will not lose your save file.
Due to many revisions of existing mechanics and complete innovations of the update, the developers recommend starting a new character so that you can have the best experience with Palworld.
Are there any further details about the update? Besides the information that can be gleaned from the trailer and the announcement on Steam, unfortunately, there isn’t much concrete information available. The trailer shows new pals, new areas, a new threat, and the long-awaited World Tree, among other things.
The lawsuit against Palworld by Nintendo for patent infringement no longer seems to pose a threat to the developers at Pocketpair.
