But beware: Other trainers, like Simliar-Student-6773, report that they encounter issues with Giovanni’s new team despite the event being active. They wrote on Reddit: I used my Super Rocket Radar during the new event and got Crypto-Kyogre from Giovanni again; how is that possible? All other leaders and grunts have the new Pokémon.
Whether the event starts on time at midnight in Germany cannot be said for sure at this time, but it is to be expected. We will keep you updated here on this matter.

While there are usually only temporary problems and the event content is quickly provided, this time it seems as if the event was simply forgotten. Because even hours after the actual start, trainers are still waiting impatiently for the spawns and quests.
So is the New Zealand Reddit user MeliaseMaree, who shares regular updates in his Reddit post. He writes:
After midnight in New Zealand and no takeover event
[…] UPDATE: now after 1 AM in New Zealand and still no sign of the event. To clarify – it is not in the “Today” tab. There are no free time-limited research tasks. The Rocket monsters have not changed. The spawns have not changed. There is no Rocket Box in the shop. …. However, the paid research ticket can be purchased.

How are other players reacting to this news? Trainers from neighboring time zones also confirm these statements in the comments and some make fun of Niantic:
Anonymausss: Can confirm that there is nothing to be found in Australia either. No spawns, no quest, nothing is happening now. I happened to have a radar and Sierra still has a bat.
juqki: Maybe you need to activate ‘time noise’, turn your phone seven times, and evolve a shiny Bidiza so the event only starts after you have caught a Ditto?
umbongo44dd: Trainers around the world will be able to work together to complete a challenge! If 1 million special research tickets are sold, we flip the switch and start the event – if you’re lucky!
What could be behind the fail? There are also some early speculations about why this fail happened. As MeliaseMaree mentions in his post, the missing start could be linked to the times in the various announcements. If one looks at Niantic’s blog post, the event was indicated to start at 00:00 local time.
In their original event overview on X, where all events for March are listed, however, it mentioned starting at 10:00 AM local time. There may have been a (communication issue) mistake here, as some write in the Reddit comments:
As MeliaseMaree explains further: 3:30 AM update: I’ve now discovered the infographic that Niantic posted on Twitter… But not in the game or the blog post.. It indicates that the event starts at 10 AM. So I think… I don’t know, this company is very frustrating! I’m going to sleep now. Hopefully, it will be fixed for other countries, but I would be surprised if they extend it for New Zealand.
And also krispyboiz is excited to see if the event starts at 10 AM local time: I’m curious if the event ultimately takes place at 10 AM and they messed up the announcement.
New event times: If the event indeed starts at 10:00 AM local time in New Zealand, we will likely also begin with a corresponding delay. The content would thus only be available here on March 27 at 10:00 AM German time.
But in the March announcement, not only was the start time different, but also the end time. The event would therefore only run until 8:00 PM local time on March 31, thus ending already 4 hours earlier. Whether this is actually the case cannot be said for sure at this point, as an official statement from Niantic is still pending.
Rocket teams: Another important change that would also affect European players due to a later start is the team switch. Members of Team GO Rocket should benefit from new monsters. In the past, these were always set at local midnight for the entire day for Rocket members at PokéStops, which is why similar events usually had the team switches happen only the following day.
If this is also the case for this event, then it is possible that you may only find the new monsters of the Rocket bosses, the new Crypto-Groudon from Giovanni, as well as the new teams of the grunts starting from March 28, 2024, in the game. However, they are usually available in balloons right after the actual event start.
Less time for quests: With shorter event times, you also have less time to complete your time-limited research tasks or to unlearn frustration from your monsters.

Recently, Enotria: The Last Song announced a new release date to avoid the Elden Ring DLC. They don’t seem to fear another Soulslike in the process.
What game are we talking about? Enotria: The Last Song is a new Soulslike that will be released on PS5 and Steam. A later release on Xbox is also planned.
Enotria features a more colorful setting with Italian folklore and sunny areas.
The world is trapped in an “eternal game” and thus in eternal stagnation, with everyone having their prescribed role.
As the “Maskless,” you collect masks to gain various abilities that help you in the fight against the so-called game makers.
Originally, the game was supposed to be released in June. However, the release has now been postponed for two months to August 21, 2024. It’s still unclear when the game will follow on Xbox. After all, only 60 people are currently working on it, according to the CEO.

Enotria shows itself in new gameplay trailer
Why was the release postponed? The developers of Enotria decided to postpone the release by two months because the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree is set to release on June 21, 2024. Indie developer Jyamma Games felt that the Soulslike might not have many chances to stand out against it.
However, they are not the only ones who have postponed their release a bit because of the upcoming DLC. Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail is also making players wait a little longer for that reason.
The additional two months are now to be well utilized by the developers to continue improving the quality of the game, according to CEO Giacomo Greco. The team thus has a bit more time to raise the bar.
Who is the new competition? Whether August 21 is indeed the better choice remains questionable. Because even though they have clearly avoided Elden Ring, another competitor is right at the door.
Whether Enotria has stepped from the rain into the flood remains to be seen in August. If Black Myth: Wukong receives poor reviews after its release, this could be very beneficial for Enotria.
Perhaps the developers are simply trusting that genre fans are so excited about both games that they won’t decide but will buy both.

A new technical test could start soon
What is happening on Steam? Since March 12, many changes have been made to the game on Steam. Specifically, the name “Throne and Liberty – Technical Test” was added and changed on March 24 to “Throne and Liberty: Technical Test”.
Such a small change in the title could indicate that the developers are in the final stages, almost in the finishing touches, of a new test. Whether this will be public or only targeted at people who applied earlier is not known.
The game also received updates; for example, it is now about 9 gigabytes larger than during the last technical test. You can check out the changes on Steam.
When could the test start? When the test could start is still a mystery, and even in the literal sense. The game seems to have mistakenly uploaded the wrong icon, as seen on SteamDB. Although the icon was quickly changed again, you can still vaguely recognize the logo of Throne and Liberty, with some text underneath.
However, the logo is so small and illegible that one cannot tell what is actually written underneath. On Reddit, some people are already trying to make the logo readable through AI tools, but so far without success.
If the date of the technical test is indeed on the icon, we may never be able to read it.

What you need to know today: Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance today. This means the servers need to go offline, which means you won’t be able to play for a while. This is a longer downtime that will be over in a few hours.

Maintenance on 26.03. – All times for the server down
These times are important today: Bungie informs its players via x.com (formerly Twitter) about the exact downtime. It is planned that the servers will be unreachable for 3 hours today.
This is the schedule for the maintenance:
At 2:00 PM, background maintenance will begin on all platforms.
At around 3:00 PM, the servers will go offline. Players will be automatically kicked from the game.
At 6:00 PM, the shooter should be back online and you can log in again.
The maintenance will continue in the background until 8:00 PM.
What to consider during downtimes: As long as the background maintenance is running, there may be connection problems in the game. Additionally, there may be queues at login, as Bungie gradually releases access to the servers to avoid problems from too much server load. Therefore, you may have to wait longer to get back into the game.
The following issues are known: In Season of the Wish, there are many problems that players have to complain about. Bungie has noted some of them (via bungie.net), but it is unknown which of these will be fixed. The following bugs could be addressed:
Significant changes regarding the sandbox for PvP are to be rolled out.
The fireteam finder is missing some options like adding Bungie friends.
Some legendary emotes are sorted with exotic emotes.
Veist rifles can only be partially rotated when inspected.
The shotgun “Striving of the Thought Twister” no longer glows when fired.
Some rocket launchers are no longer displayed when inspected.
Old artifacts are still displayed in players’ inventories.
What does the patch notes say? A complete overview of all the fixed issues and improvements will only be available tonight or in the afternoon after the update has gone live.

Bungie has now revealed all “new” weapons for the upcoming free event “Into the Light” for Destiny 2. 12 guns are waiting for you, including a shader that players have been waiting for years. We will show them to you.

The interesting thing here is that all weapons will have two versions. A normal version and then a rare limited version with a shader. The rare variant can appear on all 12 weapons, but once the DLC “The Final Shape” has been released, this limited version of the weapons will no longer be obtainable.
What is this legendary shader? While the developers were walking through the new Hall of Guardians, a reward was revealed that players will receive if they really go the extra mile. The reward is a shader, the “Superblack” shader from Destiny 1.
Why is the shader so special, you ask? Because it is completely black. It envelops your guardian in a rich black without any patterns or anything similar. Players have wished for such a shader since the beginning of Destiny 2, but now the time has come. The shader is as it seems, but it is tied to a lot of grinding. Be prepared for that.

In October 2023, the development of a new action game began. What started as a fun exercise is now turning into a game about dinosaurs with swords.
What kind of project is this? Currently, this one-man project is called “DinoBlade,” and it is supposed to become exactly what that name promises: an action-packed game about dinos with swords.
The whole thing is currently being developed solo by Jean Nguyen, Senior Animator at Sony’s Sucker Punch Productions. Even before he took up this position, he worked as a 3D animator for well-known games like Vampire: The Masquerade 2 and Call of Duty: Vanguard.
On his social media channels and YouTube, he regularly shares insights into his personal project featuring sword-swinging dinos. In February 2024, he showcased a small environment test on YouTube:

How did this project come about? About two years ago, Nguyen posted some animations on his social media channels that he created at the time just for fun and practice. They featured 3D models of dinos attacking with swords.
These short animations were actually very well received. Because, let’s be honest, who isn’t just thrilled when they see a powerful dinosaur wielding Cloud’s Buster Sword from Final Fantasy 7? Especially, more and more voices grew among his posts wishing for a game with this concept.

Last year, Jean Nguyen actually announced that he was now working on the game. More specifically, he began development solo in October 2023. Since then, he has been repeatedly providing fans and players with glimpses of his personal project.
What does the community say? The community repeatedly expresses in the comments under various posts their excitement that their wish is to be fulfilled and this game is being created.
“When I say I’m hyped for the game, it’s an understatement,” writes DroidTuftymoon under a post on X.
“Here man, take my wallet,” writes XxKNIGHT742xX also underneath.
“The internet has pushed you to make one of the probably best games of the millennium,” writes planetbustermusic under a post on Instagram.
Often, you also see users simply commenting a short but clear “Hell Yeah” under the posts. And that would probably summarize the other reactions quite simply.
What can you expect in DinoBlade? We don’t know much about this game yet. However, Nguyen has already announced that there will be a story.
Considering that development only started a few months ago and is a one-man project, it is probably not surprising that we will have to wait a bit longer for more information regarding genre, platform, and release.
However, the various videos have already shown some of the playable dinosaurs, including the Shantungosaurus, Ankylosaurus, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex. There have also been glimpses at possible weapons:
In addition to broadswords, short swords, or hammers, there are even pitchforks, sickles, and a bow. Many iconic weapons, such as Cloud’s sword, can also be seen. Whether these will make it into the final game is uncertain: Many well-known video game weapons are under copyright.
The long-awaited Season of the Guardian by New World will finally start on April 2nd. Originally, the season was supposed to start earlier, but the development team decided to refine the update. Some servers will be merged.
What problem is being referred to? Currently, the MMORPG is struggling with declining player numbers and set a new negative record just a month ago. It doesn’t look better right now: In the last 24 hours, there were only 11,214 players on Steam, according to SteamDB. A year ago, there were still 32,988 players.
Each server has a capacity of 2,500 players online at the same time. All other players trying to log in end up in queues. But when only a fraction of that capacity is online, the game no longer radiates the charm of an MMORPG.

Are server merges the salvation for the MMORPG?
How does New World plan to solve this? Well, now that many players have stopped playing the MMORPG, the developers are once again merging several servers to solve the problem. The decision to merge the servers was announced on Discord and social media, including X.
This measure is intended to help ensure that servers are more populated again and players can enjoy a better gaming experience. It should, therefore, provide a larger selection of potential guild members, challenging PvP encounters, and more companions for quests.
When will the servers be merged? The merges are expected to take place on Wednesday, March 27th.
How does the community react to the merge? Some players are stating that they do not want to merge with another server and like their server just as it is. Others think the merge is good, while others fear that the server merges will ruin the game.

Some also see no point in server merges after they have already gotten cross-world OPR and expeditions.
What else does the new season bring? In addition to this change, the new season promises extensive additional innovations, including a revised combat and animation system, new artifacts, a new seasonal story, a 10-man trial, quests – and much more.

The bear scene was one of the reasons why Baldur’s Gate 3 became so famous. But hardly anyone knows how it came about. Now the developer explains.
How did the scene come about? Most of the scenes in Baldur’s Gate 3 were performed by real actors and transferred into the game using “motion capture” technology. This means that the cut scenes in the game are first acted out by real people and then receive a digital enhancement, just like in the movie, so that the game characters can be seen.
The famous bear scene also made its way into the game this way. Probably, there wasn’t a real bear in the Larian Studios film studio, but two actors likely portrayed the intimate moments.
However, the whole process was much more professional than one might think. The performance director of Baldur’s Gate 3, Greg Lidstone, has now revealed what the shooting of the scene was like and what he was thinking at the time.

Lidstone: “There’s a bear in the scene!”
What does the performance director say about the scene? Lidstone was asked about the scene at the Game Developers Conference.
He describes his thoughts as follows: “What has happened in my life that has led me to this point? There’s a bear in the scene! […] No, we made a very conscious decision.” In the past, he has participated in games where it was like in the “Wild West” when it came to letting actors perform difficult scenes.
To ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience, Lidstone decided to involve “intimacy coordinators.”
What are “intimacy coordinators”? They are professionals from the film and television industry whose job it is to choreograph scenes with sexual content or other sensitive content and support the actors.
This is to ensure that the personal boundaries of the actors are protected and that they feel comfortable. The risk of boundary violations is to be minimized or avoided with the help of “intimacy coordinators” (via kmkb.de).
What was their role in the scene? Lidstone continues:
“We wanted someone there to keep an eye on things and ensure that the actors feel safe. […] So we had a Zoom call with the intimacy coordinator [Enric Ortuno] and talked with him, and he was gracious, and we just felt that he would be there for the actors and that he was confident enough to call me out if I made wrong decisions.”
In Helldivers 2, players can only travel to planets that are currently contested. One player somehow made it to Over-Earth and what he found there might scare you.
How did the player make it to Over-Earth? User Drakenhorn shared a virtual postcard from Over-Earth on Reddit with greetings to his fellow Helldivers. According to the user, he replayed the tutorial and bugged out of the area. After restarting the game, he found himself in his spaceship in the space of Over-Earth.

Can the war really reach Over-Earth? Apparently, the war can really reach Over-Earth. The user wrote in the comments on Reddit that Over-Earth behaved like any normal planet, and he is sure that you could fight on it too. This confirms the grim theory that one day the war might really come to Over-Earth.
Currently, the Helldivers are far from their home planet, but if Game Master Joel assists the opponents and the war shifts as a result, defending Over-Earth would also be possible.
