The MOBA game Gigantic is getting new heroes. This time you receive the gruff cuddle bear Pakko. He is actually a lovable beast that beats his opponents into bloody mush with playful paw slaps.
Gigantic, the colorful and fast-paced MOBA from Perfect World, is known for not taking itself and its heroes too seriously. After all, you play as cows and goats! But with the latest hero Pakko, the temporary peak of silliness has been reached.
The Fluffy Death
Pakko is a fluffy and cute cuddle bear who actually has a sunny disposition. He wants to play and cuddle, but unfortunately, he is a big, fat bear (or something similar) blessed with strong ice magic. Thus, his playful paw slaps freeze and crush his victims, his snowballs thrown without malicious intent lead to massive frostbite, and anyone he cheerfully breathes on turns into lifeless ice.
When Pakko slides joyfully on his furry bear bottom across the map, he squashes everything in his way, and on the ice trail he leaves behind, enemies slip and break all their bones. So Pakko is anything but a harmless cuddle bug! If you want to play the brutal cuddler, you’ll have to wait until January 19, then Pakko will arrive as part of the update “Exile in the North”.
In the top of the leaderboards in Diablo 3 it is a tough battle. Which class leads the solo rankings?
The ninth season of Diablo 3 began on January 6, 2017. Players who have already farmed good equipment test their luck in Greater Nephalem Rifts. In the leaderboards, solo players are close to surpassing level 100 of these Greater Rifts. Group players have already reached this level and are now fighting for higher ranks.
The strongest solo class
The Greater Nephalem Rifts are a way to prove one’s skill. It involves killing monsters and a portal boss within a set time. The better the time, the higher the ranking. While casual players are currently trying the Greater Rifts at levels 40 to 60, more skilled players are tackling much higher rifts. There are daily changes in the leaderboards as the community sets new best times.
The current rankings of the different Diablo 3 classes in the leaderboards (as of January 17, 2017)
Wizard – Level 99 – Time 13:24
Demon Hunter – Level 97 – Time 14:04
Crusader – Level 95 – Time 14:50
Witch Doctor – Level 93 – Time 14:10
Monk – Level 92 – Time 13:53
Barbarian – Level 89 – Time 14:59
How it looks when fighting in such a high Greater Rift is shown by wudijo on his YouTube channel. In the video, you’ll see how he handles the level 97 portal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWJLHX7Vcho
The leaderboard for 4 player groups is currently led by a team of two monks, one barbarian, and one witch doctor. These four players completed a Greater Rift of level 109 in 12 minutes and 27 seconds.
Often in these groups of multiple players, there are multiple supporters and one to two DPS sources. An example of this is the support barbarian, which you can see in our class builds for solo and groups.
Heroes of the Storm gets a new heroine from the Warcraft universe. After Ragnaros and Varian Wrynn are already in the game, the elf rogue Valeera Sanguinar now joins.
You can never have enough heroes! Following this motto, there is a new character in Heroes of the Storm: the blood elf rogue Valeera Sanguinar. The sexy assassin actually comes from World of Warcraft, but players of Blizzard’s online card game Hearthstone should also be familiar with the lady who has a penchant for the color red and daring décolletés. Valeera is the standard heroine for rogue decks.

But enough of Hearthstone and WoW, what can Valeera do in Heroes of the Storm? Above all, one thing: assassinate enemies! As the archetypal rogue, Valeera slips through the shadows and waits for the perfect moment to shred the opponent with a whole series of brutal damage skills.
With her skill “Vanish” she can charge in invisibly and close in on melee range. With the skills “Eviscerate” and “Sinister Strike” she can deal a lot of damage in a short time, and with “Blade Flurry” she can even deal some AoE damage. For her ultimate, she uses smoke bombs to confuse enemies or becomes completely invisible and protected from attacks with “Cloak of Shadows”.
Valeera also has a cool outfit that makes her look like a demon hunter in addition to her standard and master skins. Moreover, there is a monkey king skin for Orc Samuro and a mount in the form of a riding chicken in honor of the Moon Festival!
In Destiny, the update 2.5.0.1 is available for download and installation this evening, January 17th. Guardians on PS4 and Xbox One must download it.
The patch 2.5.0.1 will be the first update of 2017. The last update was at the launch of the Winter event “The Dawning” in mid-December. This three-week in-game event not only brought new content but also several issues, some of which are supposed to be fixed this evening.
A prominent example is Xur: Since “The Dawning,” he seems to have a random inventory. According to Bungie, the Agent of the Nine already has a mind of his own, but in recent weeks he occasionally forgets the Three of Coins and other “fixed” items in his offer. Bungie announced back in 2016 that they would investigate this problem.
Important times for today:
At 6:30 PM, the patch will be applied. As soon as you finish your activity and return to orbit, you will be taken to the login screen on PS4 and Xbox One to download and install the patch.
At 11 PM, all online players who have not yet installed 2.5.0.1 will be removed from activities to download it at the latest.
No maintenance is taking place! As soon as you have the update on your hard drive, you can continue playing.
What’s changing today – Patch notes for 2.5.0.1
The official patch notes for 2.5.0.1 are not yet known; these will be published by the developers only upon the release of the update. However, the community manager DeeJ already revealed which issues the patch addresses:
In the Plaguelands, some patrol missions are unreliable: Enemies do not always drop the target objects.
Xur’s offer: The unreliability is due to his limited inventory.
Nova Mortis and Abbadon: The weapon stability of these two weapons is not as intended. These machine guns were introduced with “The Dawning” and are variants of the Thunderlord. By the way: both weapons are still obtainable, even though the event is over. Any PvE enemies can randomly drop the needed blueprint.
Nova Mortis
Note: Once you obtain Nova Mortis, a waypoint will be displayed at Ikora in the Tower. This is incorrect; you need to speak with Zavala, not Ikora. This error will not be fixed today, but it is on the list of known issues.
Today at 7 PM, shortly after the release of update 2.5.0.1, the January Iron Banner starts. We will report on it. As soon as the patch notes are released, we will update this article.
Update: On various Crucible maps, kill volumes and invisible barriers have been set up to prevent players from leaving the map.
The upcoming survival RPG Conan Exiles is set in the dark fantasy world created by author Robert E. Howard. In the game, you explore the land of the damned, which has a deep history.
Your adventures in Conan Exiles begin as a criminal waiting to die on the cross, but you are rescued by Conan the Barbarian. You flee into the land of the damned, a harsh area filled with dangers and monsters. But this land also has a story that you can learn about during your adventures.
Everywhere you find traces of an ancient civilization that once ruled this area. Ruins, decaying towers, and once magnificent bridges testify that this civilization was highly developed.
The story of a fallen civilization
Many statues buried in the sand depict insect-like humanoids, and you may wonder if these were the former rulers of this land. What happened to them? Why did their civilization fall?
You can find clues about their history everywhere, and their once-mighty magic can still be felt, keeping some guardians “alive.” You will trace the ghosts of the past and hear voices from a long-forgotten time speaking to you. This way, you will gather more information about this culture and slowly uncover the secrets of the rich lore.
Explore the mysteries
In the center of the land, you find the Nameless City, apparently the former capital of this civilization. Horrifying monsters dwell there, and countless dangers await you. However, you will also find many treasures in the underground chambers and uncover ancient secrets. But only the mightiest among you should venture there.
But dangers also await you in other parts of the land, such as the Yog-worshipping Darfari cannibals, thieves, and pirates. Wild beasts lurk in the caves, and horrors await you in the mines and temples that will freeze the blood in your veins.
Always proceed with caution. For if you come into contact with dark magic or demonic or undead creatures, the corruption will slowly spread within you, corrupting and destroying you. But you will experience all of this yourself when the PC version of Conan Exiles enters early access on January 31.
In The Division, the high-end gear pieces have various talents. Which ones are particularly worthwhile since 1.4 and 1.5?
As with most shooters, weapons take center stage in Tom Clancy’s The Division: Which weapon is the best, how can I get the most out of it, and which ones are in the meta? This is what most players are interested in.
However, the experienced agent knows: Just having weapons won’t get you far in the post-apocalypse. Particularly, the armor pieces and their stats are crucial in determining whether you emerge from a confrontation as a winner or a loser.
The stats on the gear pieces are complex: You will find various main attributes, higher and lower bonuses, mod slots, and talents. With the gear sets and the named gear pieces, there are also numerous special features.
The talents of high-end armor – List
Each high-end armor piece has a random talent. These were mostly overhauled with the 1.4 update:
Accomplished: Rewards for achievements are tripled.
Astute: The first 3 shots in the magazine have a 5% higher chance of scoring a critical hit.
Cunning: After reloading, the next shot from this weapon has a 10% higher critical hit chance.
Decisive: Headshots with the pistol deal 35% more damage.
Enduring: When health is in the last segment, it regenerates continuously to fill the segment.
Forceful: Increases armor by 15% when the individual skill is active.
Inventive: Increases skill power by 15% at full health.
Nimble: Moving from cover to cover in combat heals 2% of maximum health for every meter traveled.
Perceptive: The bonus from “Gold find” is increased by 15%.
Prosperous: Critical headshots grant credits.
Rapid: The cooldown for healing skills is reduced by 15%.
Reckless: Increases damage by 8% and incoming damage by 10%.
Recovered: Damage done while moving from cover to cover regenerates for 5 seconds once the goal is reached.
Refreshed: Healing is increased by 30% when the last segment of the health bar is reached.
Rehabilitated: Heals 2% every second when you are affected by a status effect.
Rejuvenated: Using a first-aid kit removes all negative status effects.
Relentless: 5% of damage from skills is returned as healing.
Resourceful: Healing that affects you also applies to your skill objects.
Robust: Increases armor in cover by 10%.
Savage: Critical hit chance is increased by 7% against targets outside their cover.
Specialized: 200% of firearms and stamina are added to the skill power.
Steadfast: Health regeneration occurs twice as fast while in cover.
Sturdy: Increases armor by 15% if the cover is not left for at least 4 seconds.
Technical: Increases skill power by 15% when the individual skill is active.
Tenacious: Increases damage for 10 seconds by 10% when a first-aid kit is used.
Which talents are “the best” always depends on your build and playstyle. Recently, these have proven particularly valuable:
Rapid and Vigorous: Particularly interesting for healers. However, since every agent likely carries a healing skill, these are welcome talents.
Specialized: With nearly every build, you can rely on a specialized backpack. Top talent.
Reckless: A Reckless chest piece is particularly strong for the D3-FNC build as the downside is not too harsh thanks to your shield. However, the best ballistic vest currently in the game is Barret’s bulletproof vest.
Resourceful: If you play with skills like the turret, you benefit from this.
Savage: Once, Savage gloves were mandatory. Now they are not as dominant, but they can still enhance your agents.
Nimble: A useful talent that can be combined with the character talent “Tactical Advantage.” Move from cover to cover to increase damage and heal the agent.
Accomplished: With Accomplished knee pads, you can efficiently farm loot, like with this farming method.

The hardest recipes in World of Warcraft are extremely rare – is this intentional or a bug?
In the recent developer livestream of World of Warcraft, various topics were discussed that continue to generate interest within the community. Paul Kubit answered numerous questions alongside Community Manager Josh Allen (“Lore”). Particularly fascinating were the responses regarding the different professions.
Players frequently criticize that the “Rank 3” recipes for most professions are far too difficult to obtain. Some are practically “given away” by vendors, while others are only available through massive luck. Alchemists may sometimes need to craft the same potions thousands of times to learn the final rank of their potion.
The developers do not see this as a major problem. Aside from the feeling of “completeness,” the Rank 3 recipes would only provide a small savings, thereby increasing profit when selling. The basic item can still be crafted, so there is no compulsion. Toward the end of the expansion, they might increase the drop chance for the recipes, allowing collectors to catch up.
Some recipes, which can only be obtained through PvP, might also come from other sources in the future. They understand the frustration of players who simply want to craft a nice piece of armor but have no desire for PvP skirmishes.
Lastly, there were considerations about whether to implement a third profession slot per character. This would be reserved, for example, only for gathering professions. However, this is currently just a pipe dream and still far from implementation.
Cortyn says: My alchemy elf also quietly cries to herself when she has to craft potions of the whispered pact again. However, I have accepted that I will eventually obtain Rank 3 by chance and have given up on targeted farming – the profit simply isn’t great enough to justify the time invested. How about you? Do you have all the recipes you wanted, are you still searching, or have you already given up?
Rare will launch another alpha of the upcoming pirate online game Sea of Thieves at the end of this week, allowing more fans to participate.
On the weekend of January 21st and 22nd, another technical alpha of the pirate game Sea of Thieves will take place. The developers are sending out new invitations for this event. So if you haven’t had the chance to participate in the alpha yet, you might get lucky and be selected this time.
However, you need to register on the official website. Apparently, the alpha will only take place on Xbox One. If you have already signed up but have not received an invitation, keep an eye on your inbox, as one might arrive this time.
Life as a Pirate
Then you will have the opportunity to preview the pirate adventure and provide feedback to the developers. You will get a first glimpse into pirate life, and you can experience what it feels like to steer a ship, manage a crew, and search for treasures.
You will get a sense of how Sea of Thieves feels. For many, it might be a change to play an online game that doesn’t rely on many windows and additional displays. More details about the alpha, such as the exact duration and start time, will be announced by Rare soon.
According to current reports, it should not be long before the official release of Sea of Thieves takes place. According to Rare, the launch is still planned for this February for both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.

Ranking in Hearthstone will become more enjoyable, but Arena veterans can also breathe a sigh of relief – more fun and variety are expected.
Since the release of Hearthstone, there has been criticism of the ranked game mode and the Arena as well. Over the past year, the developers have repeatedly mentioned plans to overhaul both game modes to provide a better gaming experience for both newcomers and veterans. Now Team 5 is slowly getting specific. In the latest developer video, Ben Brode and Dean Ayala discussed future changes.
Arena: Fewer cards, rotation like in Ranked
The Arena has changed in recent months. Although more and more cards have been released, all of which are almost accessible in the Arena, the decks are becoming increasingly similar. The solution here is simple and effective: The same restrictions apply in the Arena as in the ranked “Standard” mode. This would mean that only the most recent expansions are in the card pool, which massively restricts the available cards and thus constantly provides fresh games.
At the same time, the number of cards that are “common” and the number of neutral classic and basic cards will be reduced. This further decreases the chance of having “boring” or useless cards, such as the Magmawüter.
Ranked: More stars, more save points
Drastic changes are also coming to Ranked, the ranked game mode. Above all, climbing the ranks should be more enjoyable and not turn into a frustrating grind every month.
Those who are rated Rank 10 or better at the end of a season should not start the next season again at Rank 17 or 18 – therefore, there will be more stars to earn. At the same time, the developers want to incorporate several “checkpoints” where players can neither lose ranking points, even if they incur losses. For example, if someone reaches “Rank 15”, they cannot drop below this level – in theory.
No specific dates for the changes have been announced yet, but they will likely arrive with the first expansion in 2017 – in spring.
The latest update OB41 for Paladins is live. The patch expands the team shooter with the new map “Stone Keep” and some new skins. We present the highlights from the patch notes.
Studio Hi-Rez has released the patch OB41 for Paladins for download. The update is live since today and is 1.3 GB in size.
New weapons and emotes for the champions are coming.
The item “Cauterize” has been adjusted and now has a duration of 1.5 seconds instead of 2. If you have multiple “Cauterize,” they will no longer stack. Many players have found “Cauterize” to be too strong so far.
The probably most important thing: A new map comes to Paladins, the fairy-tale Stone Keep.
Here are the highlights of patch OB41 in the video:

Paladins Update – What has been adjusted in patch OB41
Hi-Rez removes the “Epic and Legendary Founders Pack” from the game. Instead, Daily and Weekly Quests are introduced. With those, you can earn bonus gold by taking on challenges like “First Win of the Day” in the Daily Quest. In the Weekly Quests, you have to complete more specific tasks like playing 2 games as a Flanker. The bonus to be gained for this is also higher.
Further adjustments: Players will no longer be put into the “Combat” mode by using sprays. And the animations of “Evie Soar”, “Getting Pulled,” and “Androxus Ult” should no longer get stuck with the patch.
Siege Mode
In the “Siege” mode, your team now receives 300 Credits when you capture an objective. If you successfully defend a “Payload Push”, there are no credits anymore.

You now start with 1000 Credits, it was previously 400. The credits have increased from 1 to 2 per second.
Supports
For supporters, there has been a major change that should have a significant impact on the game and the choice of role. As a Support, your ultimates are charged by healing your team with OB41.
Champions
These champs receive an adjustment through OB41:
Barik – Increased health bar
Fernando – Fixed mvp pose
Grohk – Increased healing
Sha Lin – Fixed “Impaler Arrow”
Skye – Increased ammunition “Wrist Crossbow”
Tyra – Increased health bar
Viktor – Fixed mvp pose
Ying – Fixed Convention 2017 Skin
New Map: Stone Keep
You can only play Stone Keep in Siege mode. In the middle of the map, there is a capture point and the teams’ bases are at opposite ends. In Stone Keep, you will find “Stealth Grass”, which makes you invisible to enemies when entering. Stone Keep resembles a fairy-tale castle and is designed in a fantasy style.

The goal is kills and loot, and the gameplay resembles Blizzard’s Overwatch with its skills and fast-paced action. The big difference is, of course: Battlecrew – Space Pirates is presented in 2D and plays like a side-scroller à la Turrican.

A streamer popularized by Destiny fears that a new feature from Twitch could completely annihilate his hard-earned free time.
Professor Broman is his stream name. In real life, his name is Ben Bowman. He became popular by streaming the MMO shooter Destiny on Twitch. It even earned him a spot in the Guinness Book of Records. He provides a behind-the-scenes look at a professional streamer for the U.S. site Polygon. And that look is frightening.
“Always be online,” his mentor ManVsGame advised him when he started on Twitch, Bowman recalls. And he was indeed almost always online.
168 hours are in a week. Bowman is expected to be online most of that time. He quickly noted that this was the key to a successful streaming career. Only by always being online and pushing himself to the limit could the hope of “the dream” come true. The hope of being able to live off Twitch.
Broman (left) at the live reveal of Prison of Elders.
Go online immediately and stream!
At first, he streamed 12 to 16 hours a day. 7 days a week for two years. Only in this way could he maintain the growth of his channel, Bowman says. He spent every waking hour streaming, except for time in the gym and when he was making himself something to eat. He lost contact with friends and family. The stress drove his mentor ManVsGame to speed.
Only later, when Bowman had 400,000 followers, did he allow himself to take Saturdays off. He thought he had earned that day. But every statistic and his ambition screamed at him: “Your channel is collapsing. Go online immediately and stream. You’re throwing away your hard work!” Because Bowman was losing followers during that time.
In the first months with the free day, it was mainly about fighting against that inner voice that prevented him from shutting down.
Me: Work life balance is important in all jobs including streaming. Viewer: You’re just afraid to work hard, you’ll be gone soon pic.twitter.com/YHP1TmhHrb
Now Boman is working on a new idea from Twitch. “IRL” – this is a new category where streamers can still live stream in a vlog style while on the go. This is meant to allow fans to follow their favorite streamers even when they are not sitting at the computer, but out and about.
Bowman believes this is dangerous. It would have tempted him back then to “work” during the little time he wasn’t streaming, and to stress himself further if he had to entertain fans in the gym or while preparing a meal.
Bowman struggles with the work-life balance on Twitch. He fears that a new generation of streamers might grow up without the free hours he still had left.
Bowman explains that the mantra “Always be on Twitch, always be live” is powerful and the best way to reach and grow an audience. The only one who can ultimately turn off the camera is also the one who benefits the most from having the camera always on.
If you turn your hobby into a profession, then you don’t have to work a day – Not true
Schuhmann says: For many people, it’s certainly hard to understand how Twitch can almost consume someone like Bowman. But when your life and gaming become your profession – where are the boundaries? Where is time for private life? For many, it is certainly a dream to turn a hobby into a profession. Then you wouldn’t have to work a day, they say.
But: If your life is your job, then you work around the clock.
Professor Broman had his big appearance in Destiny in May 2015, during a memorable livestream for “Prison of Elders” at the Bungie studio.
In Destiny we take a look at the videos of the week: Three videos from Bungie, which we complement with videos from our community.
Bungie is back from the winter break! This means not only that we will receive hot info on Destiny in 2017 soon, but also that we will be provided with entertaining or impressive videos weekly.

The first “Video of the Week” title in 2017 could be claimed by a Guardian from our readership. Congratulations to Juma Plays! In his video, he shows how to complete a story mission:

That concludes Bungie’s selection. However, we have received many other excellent clips from our community that we don’t want to withhold from you. Let’s start with a “How to” video by Pascal Kulig. He shows you how effective the dab can be in PvP:

In Heroes of the Storm , it stays Warcraft-like – the next hero will be Valeera Sanguinar.
After the troll Zul’jin was added to the roster of Heroes of the Storm a few weeks ago, the developers are already working on the next character to enter the Nexus. As revealed on Twitter, it will be none other than Valeera Sanguinar.

Valeera is a Blood Elf and was imprisoned alongside Varian Wrynn as a gladiator. Since that time, they have been good friends, and her loyalty also extends to his son, Anduin Wrynn. Aside from that, her loyalties are neither with the Horde nor the Alliance, but only with her own interests and friends. In World of Warcraft, rogues can encounter her in the Order Hall, where she hands out quests and participates in some missions herself.
In Hearthstone, Valeera is the default rogue, currently ruining the fun for some opponents with a pirate deck. Otherwise, she has made several appearances in the various comics of World of Warcraft, many of which no longer belong to the canon of the story.
While nothing is known about her abilities in Heroes of the Storm yet, it is to be expected that Valeera – similar to Nova and Zeratul – will have stealth to fulfill her role as a rogue.
There is still no specific release date for Valeera. If Blizzard maintains its current pace, we should be able to see her on the PTR at the latest next week (or not – stealth and all).
In The Division, you do not need to be in the terminal to start the Survival mode.
Now for a quick tip that will make the lives of many agents a little more enjoyable.
If you want to start a survival session, you normally go to the terminal, run to the entrance marked “Survival,” and select the player search.
However, there is a trick that allows you to skip the way or the fast travel to the terminal:
Open the map,
Select the terminal,
Press the button for player search (Xbox Y, PS4 Triangle),
Select Survival now
And begin the player search with PvP or PvE.
This way, you can enter the queue for a Survival match without having to fly to the terminal first. You can start the player search anywhere on the map – except in the Dark Zone.
This trick will surely be known to some of you, but for many, it will save several fast travels in the future. On reddit, the user who shared this trick is showered with praise. One reader writes: “MIND –> BLOWN“
How to successfully finish a Survival session is explained in our Survival Guide.

If you’re less into PvE, you can look forward to exciting PvP modes. For example, 50 players can compete against each other in the guild war and determine which guild is the strongest. Additionally, there are a total of 12 locations you can besiege as a guild. The number of participating heroes will determine the server population, and according to the publisher My.com, it could be up to a thousand players.
