In the MMORPG Dark and Light, you will also be able to catch and tame dragons.
Dragons are majestic creatures in MMORPGs that also pose a great danger. They often serve as enemies and bosses. In some MMOs, they can also be used as mounts. In the upcoming online game Dark and Light, they are both.
Catch Dragons…
You will encounter dragons during your adventures in the vast and beautiful fantasy world. This will lead to fierce battles. However, you do not need to kill the wyrms. With a special crossbow, you will catch these beasts by shooting ropes at the creatures, which will entangle them on the ground.
Eventually, the dragon will no longer be able to move and will be stuck on the ground despite its violent wingbeats. That is your chance!
…and ride them
You jump on the back of the creature and tame it, so that it becomes available to you as a mount. Riding on a dragon mount, you will then explore the world from a different perspective, travel faster from one place to another, and visit locations that would hardly be reachable on foot. Whether there will be aerial battles is currently uncertain. In a video, you can see how a hero catches, tames, and eventually rides a dragon.
Dark and Light will break some conventions of common MMORPGs. For example, there will not be thousands of players in the world, but only a few hundred. Snail Games will announce the exact number later. This way, you should feel more like a true hero and not just one among thousands of heroes.
A release date for the MMO is not yet set. However, it could still be released in 2017. Dark and Light is the reboot of an MMORPG that was shut down 10 years ago.
In The Division there are first official details about “Last Stand”. This is the new PvP mode!
The “State of the Game” just happened on January 19. Already yesterday, Ubisoft announced with a teaser trailer that there would be a reveal stream on this today.

First general information: Update 1.6 and “Last Stand” will not have time exclusivity – they will be released simultaneously on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A release date is not yet available.
Beforehand, a PTS phase will take place, which does not have a date yet. These public test servers are only accessible for players on PC. Players on PS4 and Xbox One cannot reach them.
1.6 Expands the Dark Zone
Both 1.6 and Last Stand will deliver PvE and PvP content. Most PvE content is still unknown, but Hamish Bode shared some information about the PvP activities today:
With update 1.6, three new Dark Zone classes will come into play: DZ7-9. These will be free for all players. The Dark Zone will be expanded to the north.
Central Park has not been mentioned so far. In short clips, a gloomy atmosphere has emerged in the northern Dark Zone: They want to bring more “death” into the DZ. Many body bags are piling up in the streets. There is fire. There is a lot of new graffiti. Not an inviting place.
Although only three new DZ areas are being added, the DZ will not expand by 50%, but by about 100%. You will get a DZ that is twice as large as before. It goes onto roofs, into the underground, complete buildings can be entered. DZ06 leads to DZ07.
This is the “Last Stand” mode
However, Last Stand is a structured, objective-based PvP mode. It is organized PvP within the DZ. Standalone sessions where agents compete against each other in 8v8 battles!
If you start matchmaking in a group, you will be randomly matched with other groups. If you start the player search solo, you will only be matched with agents who also start solo. Until the session starts, you are in a queue.
“Last Stand” is a kind of conquest mode with additional features. There are three zones to control, A, B, and C. These are called “Tactical Locations”. In each zone, there are three objectives. Only when you have possession of these, does the zone belong to you.
More Info:
There is a respawn. This should happen as quickly as the game allows, so you can get back into the fight quickly. You can spawn near teammates.
“Normalization” of your gear: In this PvP mode, skill should determine the outcome, not superior armor. How this “normalization” will work exactly will be tested on the PTS. Player feedback is needed for this.
You cannot go rogue in the “Last Stand” mode. You also cannot lose loot. Rewards only become available at the end of matches.
You will not run around as “Team Red” or “Team Blue”: Your clothing looks the same as always.
There is a “Last Stand” Rank that you can progress through.
Last Stand will be just the first step regarding standalone PvP. More will come in the future.
There is also a PvE aspect, you can kill AI opponents in Last Stand to collect points, which you can then use to unlock fortifications – like the turret from the teaser trailer.
You can revive teammates with medkits.
What else does the expansion bring?
The DLC introduces a new raid. More specific details are expected tomorrow. In addition to a raid, there will be more PvE content that will be discussed in the future.
There will be no gear score increase, but an AlphaBridge nerf. The community manager calmed the heated spirits a bit: Alpha-Bridge will still be powerful.

In Destiny, you can achieve T12 with the Iron Banner gear in January. Some armor pieces from Efrideet even have 100%!
This week, the Iron Banner is running in January 2017. Lord Efrideet has taken her position at the Felwinter Peak and is now presenting her inventory to the Guardians. In addition to “Iron Banner” loot cycles, she has weapons and armor pieces with fixed rolls.
Although the two weapons in her offering carry strong perks, they are not particularly sought after. The rocket launcher “The Titanium Orchid” and the pistol “The Blinding Brand” are not among those few top-tier weapons that must not be missing from any inventory. They are rather off-the-shelf weapons.
The armor pieces, on the other hand, are more interesting for some Guardians. With the Iron Banner gear this week, you can obtain T12-capable armor with which you can reach “the final goal” in Destiny.
What is T12?
You have three attributes that you can influence with your armor: Discipline, Strength, and Intellect. Each attribute can be upgraded by a maximum of 5 levels (tiers). The more levels are filled, the shorter the cooldown of the corresponding ability.
However, not all 5 ranks of all attributes can be filled simultaneously. Instead, the goal is to distribute 12 ranks. For example, if a Guardian speaks of a 5/5/2 distribution, they have maximized Intellect and Discipline and also unlocked two fields of Strength.
How many tiers you can unlock depends on the stats of your armor pieces. If you wear only T12-capable armor pieces, the T12 goal is reached.
Are the Iron Banner armor pieces T12-capable?
In the January Iron Banner, you can purchase the chest armor and gauntlets from Efrideet from rank 3 and for 25 Legendary Marks.
The maximum distribution for gauntlets is 41 and 58 (with active node). The total maximum is 99.
For chest armor, a maximum of 61 and 86 (with active node) is possible. This totals 147.
If a chest armor has, for example, 86 Discipline and 61 Strength, it has 100%. It cannot have better stats.
By the way, 100% is not even necessary for T12. If your armor pieces have over 97%, that is sufficient for T12.
How much % do the Iron Saga armor pieces have in January?
Players of Blizzard’s MOBA Heroes of the Storm are a bit irritated because Blizzard is now introducing the fifth assassin character in a row from the Warcraft universe into the game. Blizzard has noticed this as well, and developer “Centaurik” provides a response.
When looking at the latest hero releases in Heroes of the Storm, two things stand out: Recently, there have only been assassins and only Warcraft heroes. The whole assassin fun began with the Orc sword master Samuro, then came the assassin-warrior hybrid Varian. Firelord Ragnaros was also an assassin and Troll Zul’jin anyway. And now with the assassin archetype Valeera, another assassin is ready to go. Isn’t it enough with the assassins, Blizzard?

The assassin inflation from Azeroth has also caught Blizzard’s attention. Therefore, developer Centaurik has spoken up on the Blizzard blog and provided a lengthy explanation regarding the flood of assassins. According to him, the many assassins resulted because certain heroes had been planned for a long time and other characters were reworked shortly before release.
Orc Samuro had already been firmly planned as a fast assassin for two years. Varian was developed into today’s available multi-class hero with strong assassin traits. Ragnaros, on the other hand, was actually intended to be a specialist who operates from the background. In the end, however, he became the frontline assassin hero that he is today.
When Ragnaros and Varian were almost finished, developers noticed that a new, consistent ranged hero was urgently needed. Thus, Zul’jin was created, also an assassin.
At this point, people at Blizzard also realized that they already had four Warcraft assassins in a row. Unfortunately, it was already too late to change the existing release plan, and thus the next Warcraft assassin Valeera had to follow. Because even there, the schedule was already too far along to change anything.
After the fourth in a row, Blizzard noticed, but it was too late
According to Centaurik, the developers focused too much on the gameplay aspects of the heroes and overlooked that now five times the same role from the same universe was coming into the game. For them, the five heroes were each entirely different versions of the rough assassin archetype.
For example, Samuro is a cloaked “shell-game assassin”, Varian is a multi-class frontline fighter and warrior, Ragnaros is a tactical frontline fighter, and Zul’jin completely deviates as a consistent ranged fighter. Valeera, meanwhile, functions as a carry-disabler, denying valuable DPS to enemies.
Thus, the five heroes, despite having the same role, are very different and play completely differently. Nevertheless, Centaurik admits that the release of so many assassins from Azeroth did not find great favor with many players. In the end, however, the developer still advocates giving Valeera a chance, as she is likely to offer a really great new gaming experience.
In World of Tanks, you can finally buy the Fury Sherman and the Tiger 131 from the movie “Fury” as premium tanks. At least for the console versions for Xbox and PS4.
Anyone who has seen the movie “Fury” knows that the lead role was not actually played by Brad Pitt as the cynical tank commander. Rather, it was the titular tank itself: a modified Sherman M4A3E8 medium tank.
This tank with the characteristic “Fury” lettering as well as its arch-nemesis, the legendary “Tiger 131”, are now available again in the Xbox version of World of Tanks in the real-money shop. In the Playstation 4 version, the two premium tanks are making their debut.

The Tiger 131 is the final boss of Fury in the film and takes out the remaining Shermans in the train with methodical precision and the guarantees of its 88mm gun. Such firepower has little to counter against a Sherman, while the guarantees of the U.S. tank usually bounce harmlessly off the Tiger’s strong front armor. However, since the Tiger has a much greater range with its extra-long barrel, it can shoot long before the enemy is even in range.
Only in close combat, when the Tiger can be attacked from the rear or side, does a Sherman have a real chance against the German steel monster. By the way, the Tiger 131 is a real existing tank. It was captured in 1943 as the first Tiger worldwide by the Allies in Tunisia and still stands fully operational in the Tank Museum in Bovington (Southern England).
Premium Offers in the Shop
Both tanks are now available again for a limited time in the real-money shop as premium tanks. Such vehicles come fully equipped into the hangar and each includes a unique commander. The Fury features the character “Wardaddy” played by Brad Pitt from the film, while the Tiger is commanded by an officer named “Gustav von Vaerst”.
Wardaddy has the ability “Mentor” and grants all other crew members a 10 percent bonus on their skills. Von Vaerst, on the other hand, maximizes the sniper performance of the Tiger with the skill “Sniper”. This increases the chance for critical damage to modules and crew members by 3 percent when hit. Ideal for burning Shermans even better. The offer is valid only from January 16 to February 6, 2017. The tanks are also available together in a bundle.
This is how to defend against annoying players in GTA 5 Online. This player outsmarted the trolls and made them pay for their “fun.”
The online mode of GTA 5 offers various ways to keep busy. On the large map, you can race, rob stores, complete missions for clients, and shoot each other in different game modes.
In a public session, PvP is enabled. This makes it possible to attack other players or destroy their vehicles. When Aaron Reynolds saw a group of players destroying the beautiful vehicles of other gamers, an idea came to his mind on how he can get back at these destructive trolls.
An expensive pleasure
Aaron Reynolds reports on Twitter that he launched Operation: “One Million Dollar Car,” which was a complete success as an action against trolls. He describes his story as follows:
Anyone who finds a nice car in GTA 5 Online can take it to a workshop and sell it there or make it their own vehicle. Reynolds quickly noticed that some players enjoyed waiting at these workshops, damaging or destroying the cars there. He thought about how to make these actions fun for him but bad for the trolls. Thus, Operation: “One Million Dollar Car” was born.
If you own a car in GTA 5 Online, you can get it insured. If another player destroys the insured vehicle, they must pay a portion of its total value. With this knowledge in mind, Reynolds modified a car with so many exaggerated changes that it was ultimately worth over 1,000,000 GTA$. He calls it: The Gurntmobile.
The Gurntmobile – Source: @AaronReynolds
With the Gurntmobile, he searched for players hanging out at workshops. When he found some, he slowly drove to the workshop and let the players damage his car. When the car’s insurance was activated and the players had to pay, Reynolds heard a lot of whining in the chat. Until the One Million Dollar Car operation, Reynolds found voice chat annoying – Now he loves it!
Later, he saw a player driving a tank through the online world of GTA 5, destroying other players’ vehicles. With his Gurntmobile, he drove up to the tank, which, of course, shot directly at the vehicle. After the player in the tank destroyed the Gurntmobile for the fourth time, he shouted “NO, NOT YOU AGAIN” into his headset.
Two players in fighter jets warned each other, “Watch out not to hit the blue car. That’s worth a million dollars.” Immediately, Reynolds drove quickly to a workshop and painted the car red.
It should be mentioned at this point that players do not have to pay the full price for destroying other carsthey must, when destroying them. The fee is about 1% of the car’s price. For current luxury cars, that amounts to about 20,000 GTA$ that must be paid. A price that prevents some players from destroying these cars.
In his next session, Reynolds changed his tactics. As soon as the other players recognize his car, the game is over. For this reason, he souped up a new car that is even more noticeable and will be a popular target for destructive trolls. The Gurntmobile 2!
The Gurntmobile 2 – Source: @AaronReynolds
When the trolls noticed that destroying his car costs a lot of money, he switched cars to confuse them. The whining he heard over his headset was immense. “GUYS, HE HAS TWO CARS, DON’T SHOOT AT ANY OF THEM!”
Source: @AaronReynolds
Rolling back the trolls was fun for Reynolds and satisfying. When he later drove to his in-game house, he saw that his garage entrance was blocked with foreign cars. A few angry players were waiting there for him. Their plan was not well thought out, though. They wanted to blow up his car because they were annoyed that it cost them money when they blew up his car.
Presumably, the trolls noticed their logical error and decided to take a more peaceful approach. When Reynolds arrived, they were all sitting in the house’s pool.
This shows how insurance in GTA 5 Online ultimately works.
Revelation Online, the Asian online RPG by My.com, offers a lot of comfort features. One of them is called Talent and gives you the opportunity to gain experience points faster and level up, so you don’t lose sight of the hardcore players.
Imagine you complete a task and receive a reward for it. Now imagine you have a magical pot that gives you another reward for the same action. That sounds great and is exactly what your heroes in Revelation Online have at their disposal.
The system is called “Talent” and represents an additional source of experience points in the third beta of Revelation Online starting today.

Your supply of Talent XP grows every day depending on your level. When you gain experience points for anything, you will receive additional experience points from the Talent pool on top of the usual XP. Talent refills every day until it reaches a maximum value.
This is nothing new in the world of MMORPGs. Many games have a game mechanic like this, for example, the “Rest XP” from SWTOR, which accumulates when you are in cantinas and your own spaceship.
Revelation Online takes the Rest XP system even further. So that you don’t waste a single valuable experience point above your limit, there is the kind NPC Mora Zin. He mysteriously collects all Talent points that exceed your limit. So when the pot is empty, you just go to Mora Zin and collect the XP he has stored for you – at least until your personal supply is full again.
Offline is no obstacle
By the way, Mora Zin’s supply of XP is unlimited; you can store as much XP with him as you want. But be careful! Mora Zin only gives you a certain amount of Talent XP for free each day. For more XP, you have to pay with valuable “Ausgyth points” that you earn through PvP and dungeon rewards.
Especially cool: Your hero stores Talent XP even when you’re not online. So if you go on vacation for two weeks and can’t play, you don’t have to worry about your XP stock. This way, My.com ensures that even players who are rarely online can quickly catch up in levels and reach the endgame without grind and frustration.
For the sword-fighting MMO For Honor, there will be a small closed beta before the release. To participate, Ubisoft has come up with something really special: Build a weapon and receive a key as a thank you.
For Honor, Ubisoft’s fast-paced melee spectacle, will launch on February 14, 2017. However, from January 26 to January 29, there will be another closed beta during which you can play most of the game modes planned for release. The beta will start on PC, PS4, and Xbox One simultaneously and will include three of the four game modes and nine out of twelve classes.

the heroes Raider, Berserker, and Warlord for the Vikings
Conqueror, Warden, and Peacekeeper for the Knights
and Orochi, Kensei, and Nobushi for the Samurai.
These will battle it out on six maps. Additionally, the beta will introduce a feature called “Fraction War” for the first time.
This is a persistent cross-platform meta event where all victories of the faction you support are collected. The stronger a faction can assert itself, the more territories on a map it wins. The faction that conquers the most land by the end of the beta wins. All supporters will receive rewards. You choose your faction once, and no matter which heroes you play, your victories will always count for the chosen group.
How to get into the Closed Beta – The weapon is the key
“This all sounds totally amazing, but how do I get into the damn beta!?” It’s simple! Instead of endlessly waiting for beta invites or entering giveaways, you just need to watch a few videos and then build a weapon.
Ubisoft has illustrated the story of three warriors from For Honor on a website called SCARS. Choose one of the three fighters and click through their lives by watching a total of four videos.
At the end, you will be asked to build a weapon in memory of this brave warrior. Choose various parts and assemble the weapon. As a thank you, you’ll receive a guaranteed key for the beta! You can find a link to SCARS in the source reference. Have fun in the beta of For Honor!
Star Conflict offers numerous spaceships, but some of them are only available for real money. However, with some luck, you can win one of them, the “Blackhort Rank III Jericho” as well as seven days of premium game time here in our key giveaway!

The first German “Swatter” goes to prison – more than 3 years in jail is the reward for the supposed “fun”.
Swatting has drastically increased during the time of streamers on Twitch and other platforms. The perpetrator calls the police and says things like: “Yes, I have a hostage here and will shoot them soon” – giving the address of the streamer he doesn’t like. If everything goes “according to plan”, a few minutes later the victim can be seen being dragged out of the apartment by the police, firefighters, or a special operations team in the livestream.
In America, there are shockingly many such cases, but the “phenomenon” is also gaining traction in Germany. In July 2015, the controversial streamer “Drachenlord” was caught, leading to a major deployment of the fire brigade.

The responsible person could be identified – also because he boasted about his act – and was brought to court. The sentence: Three years and five months in prison.
The “abuse of emergency calls” – four in total – accounts for “only” 15 months of the sentence. The perpetrator was also convicted for other cybercrimes, such as the distribution and possession of animal and child pornography and several cases of computer fraud.
The penalty could have been significantly higher according to the court, if, due to the “fake call”, a real emergency could not be handled or if there had been personal injuries. Ultimately, the perpetrator got off lightly with his punishment – however, a stern warning is still likely to be the time in prison.

Cortyn says: Finally. For nearly a decade, this terrible practice of unleashing special forces or rescue services on other people has existed. This is not only a difficult situation for the victims, but also for the emergency services, who always have to assume a serious incident.
At the latest, when a real operation cannot take place because of a “swatter” – because the forces are tied up with a person, although there is nothing to do – the drama would be significant. I think this is a right step. Those who exploit the people who protect us with their lives in emergencies should have plenty of time to think in prison. Maybe they will come to their senses after all.
The closed beta of MU Legend will be fully available in German in February! This action MMORPG is seen as a hopeful Hack’n Slay.
MU Legend, which aims to conquer the action MMORPG market, will be available in February with a localized version for testing in Germany. After the first closed beta had over 200,000 pre-registrations and was a success, the translation for Germany has been completed for the second beta phase.
2017 – The Year of Action MMORPGs
2017 could be the year of the action MMORPG – several games, especially from Asia, are aiming for the throne in the genre that made Diablo famous.
The international success of Diablo 3 – even in Asia – has led to a lot of work on action MMORPGs being done over the years. In 2017, this is now bearing fruit. Titles are also coming to Europe. Alongside Mu Legend, Lineage Eternal and Lost Ark are seen as hopes for the “slice and loot” fans. But while there is still little news about Lost Ark and Lineage Eternal, Mu Legend is already much further ahead.
This is coming to us in Germany now.

Publisher WEBZEN has announced the second closed beta phase of MU Legend. This beta phase runs from February 21 to February 28, 2017. This beta focuses on the implementation of the translation. Unlike the first closed beta, players can now play MU Legend in German.
The data from the first closed beta has not been deleted, which is why players will be active in all level ranges.
Open Beta of MU Legend – When is the release?
“Testing the localized version is now another step towards the release of a global version of MU LEGEND,” says Richard Moon, Head of Global Business at WEBZEN.
In Hearthstone , a new card chaos has begun. We tell you what it is about.
Since last night, players in Hearthstone are dueling under new rules: The current card chaos from January 12 is called “Duel of the Spellbooks.” This is a new Tavern Brawl, as card chaos is called in English.
Players choose a class
They decide on 10 cards from their collection when assembling the deck.
Each card may only appear once.
Every time you are up at the beginning of your turn, when you have to draw a new card, you can “choose” one from a pool of 3 cards with the Discover mechanic.
This means that you can specifically assemble a deck and then have the opportunity in the game to receive the card you are aiming for in the situation. With a significantly higher probability than in normal play, you get the card you need.
A deck that is recommended on deck-building sites is this priest deck on the right – the idea is to double the health points with Divine Favor on the 1/8 tournament medic or the 2/5 knight of Stormwind and then raise the attack points to murderous levels with Inner Fire, and that quite cost-effectively. The other cards serve as card draw and to keep the opponent in check.
There are numerous other decks that can drive opponents crazy in the Duel of the Spellbooks. Popular is the rogue card “Beneath the Grounds”, which can spoil opponents’ Discover and limit their options. Reno Jackson and other cards that only work when you have no copies in the deck work flawlessly, by the way.
Outsmarted: Lando in Star Wars Battlefront is no longer overpowered. His abilities now finally have a cooldown.
Anyone who has spent their free time in Star Wars: Battlefront in recent weeks and months will have been sent back to the respawn point by Lando more than once. Due to a bug, it was possible for the good gentleman to fire his Power Blast at a second’s interval. Because the ability had no cooldown. Thus, Lando was able to plow through enemy masses for six weeks even without tactical skill and achieve victory (almost) single-handedly.
The patch, however, has fixed numerous other errors. On the Walker Assault maps of Scarif, only two communication stations should now be visible at the same time – previously, three could be seen, which led to unfair situations.
Heroes are now generally somewhat more resistant to stuns, so “Stun-Chaining” is no longer possible. After a stun wears off, the hero is immune to further stuns for 2 seconds. However, some “hero stuns” like Force Push or Force Choke are exempt from this change.
The download of the update is between 2 GB and 3 GB, so anyone who wants to play in the evening should initiate the patch process early.
What game highlights for the PlayStation VR are coming to market in 2017? We take a look at 5 promising titles.
Was 2016 “the year” of virtual reality? There’s certainly room for debate. Yes, several VR headsets were released, including the PlayStation VR, which made this technology accessible to the masses. However, one cannot say there was a breakthrough for VR. The reason: There is a lack of top titles.
Since the launch of the PSVR, several VR games are available, many of which are described as fun. However, they have a flaw: they are too short. They only provide short-term gaming pleasure. We are still waiting for a “must-have” title that captivates players in droves with VR.
Perhaps 2017 will be the year when virtual reality breaks through. According to Sony, hundreds of developers are currently working on VR games. Many of these will be more “mini-games”, that much is certain. Therefore, we ask: What top titles for the PlayStation VR are coming in 2017?
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
Let’s start with a survival horror game that is already within reach: “Resident Evil 7 Biohazard” will be released on January 24 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be the first major AAA title completely playable with PSVR. The entire gaming world will look at the release of the seventh installment of the RE series and see how it performs in VR.
The setting for this horror game is a dark plantation where you encounter the mysterious Baker family. Jack and Marguerite Baker, the plantation owners, were long thought to be missing – but now you will meet them.

Resident Evil 7 is set to open the door to a new horror experience thanks to PSVR: you will run through the action from a first-person perspective, where some shocks are programmed. Thanks to the specially developed “RE Engine”, which was created from the start for VR, the game is said to deliver a “disturbingly realistic horror experience in the players’ minds” according to Capcom.
Certainly a title where many will consider whether they want to endure this horror. The age rating is 18 and older.
In Destiny, every Guardian probably has an idea of how they would improve the shooter in “Destiny 2”. We present 10 of these wishes.
2017 is expected to be the year of “Destiny 2”. Activision announced this months ago. The sequel is on track. The work on Destiny 2 is in full swing – Guardians can expect a lot in 2017. But what exactly is on the way? Concrete information is scarce. Since “The Dawning,” Guardians are heading towards an uncertain future. We have summarized all previous bits of information about Destiny 2 here.
A statement that all Guardians will probably agree with: The current Destiny is not perfect. At launch, it faced a lot of criticism, from a lackluster story to balance issues. Always accompanied by content droughts. Now Destiny 2 has the chance to “make everything better”.
And that is exactly the plan: While “The Taken King” was a reboot of Destiny to fix the small things, Destiny 2 is supposed to overhaul the big things. What these “big things” will be remains to be seen. However, the Guardians already have concrete ideas about how they would improve their MMO shooter.
Frequent Content Updates
A content drought as severe as in 2016 must not happen to the Destiny developers again. For months, Bungie was unable to deliver fresh content. And even “Rise of Iron”, the big autumn expansion in 2016, was weak compared to “The Taken King”.
However, we already know that the responsible parties do not want to allow such a content famine again: Three studios are now working on Destiny’s future. Furthermore, Activision spoke of a steady stream of content that Guardians can look forward to. The frequency of DLCs and events will likely increase.
The first wish, to which work is eagerly being done: More content at shorter intervals. A roadmap would also be welcomed, from which one could see in the long term when to expect new content.
A Coherent Story
An important topic: The story missions. With “The Taken King”, they became more coherent, exciting, and with more cutscenes, but in Year 1, hardly any Guardian could follow the in-game story. Humor, connections, and interesting character developments were lacking – everything that makes a good story. The campaign was probably the biggest flaw in Vanilla Destiny.
Therefore, all eyes will be on the story in Destiny 2. The expectations are high. Bungie knows they need to deliver.
Atlas Reactor is now fully Free2Play as of today. Everyone can now earn new heroes and upgrades without spending a cent. And there’s also a new heroine, the Cyber Valkyrie Brynn.
Atlas Reactor is a fast-paced tactical action game that plays dynamically despite the turn-based gameplay. Originally, Atlas Reactor was designed as a Free2Play game, but later it was changed to a Buy2Play game with a permanently playable demo called Free-Mode. In this mode, players could play a limited weekly rotation of heroes for free. Those who purchased the full version, however, got all heroes for free.
Now it’s going back to the Free2Play model.

Free2Play and Valkyrie
Atlas Reactor is now a fully-fledged Free2Play game starting today. You can now also earn new heroes and upgrades like skins and skill mods in-game as FreeMode players or buy them with real money. For this, there is a new currency called “Flux” that unlocks everything in the game. Buyers of the full version still get all heroes for free and additional goodies at the Free2Play launch.
In addition to the Free2Play launch, the new season of the story of Atlas Reactor starts today. Each further episode will also bring a new game mode, the “Random Freelancer Mode” is the first in this series. But the best comes last: the new heroine Brynn! She is a cool Cyber Valkyrie who fights at medium range as a tank heroine with a shield and spear and has good CC abilities. Moreover, she can reduce damage.
Rapid, repeated crouching in Overwatch is annoying – that’s exactly why it is being nerfed.
An opposing player shoots us down, rushes in, and repeatedly crouches on our character’s corpse. This behavior, intended solely to humiliate the opponent – essentially shoving one’s genitals in the opponent’s face – has spread in Overwatch in recent months: the so-called teabagging.
However, with the upcoming patch, the repeated, rapid crouching might be a thing of the past. Players who crouch and stand up rapidly will gradually slow down until they move like a snail.
Overwatch: Chronic Crouchers Will Soon Crawl
The reason for this is not that Blizzard wants to punish “teabaggers,” but rather that absurd situations have arisen where permanent crouching has become part of the playstyle. Many players have mapped crouching to their mouse wheel and spam the movement during gameplay.
Especially snipers like Widowmaker are finding it difficult to hit a target. Until now, crouching was only associated with a minimal reduction in movement speed. In higher skill rating matches, the constant, accelerated crouching has become commonplace.
The change to repeated crouching was not mentioned in the patch notes, so it could just be a glitch or an experiment. At least on Reddit, most players welcome this change – even if it is not specifically aimed at “teabaggers,” but rather addresses the exploitation of another game mechanic. Only a few gamers, like this Reinhardt, wonder: “How else am I supposed to provoke?”

Cortyn says: No matter in which game, “teabaggers” are a plague. I wouldn’t mind if Blizzard went a few steps further – anyone who crouches more than 3 times per second would take damage because the character’s bones can’t handle it. I really appreciate D.Va, who, despite her pro-gamer career, never resorts to teabagging – because her mech simply can’t crouch.
World of Warships will revise the skills of the ship commanders with the upcoming update 0.6. There will also be new abilities and a system to gain experience points beyond the maximum level.
In World of Warships, it’s not just about the ship; the captain on the bridge also decides victory or defeat. The skills that your commander brings into battle have always been important and game-changing, but many abilities were previously not well balanced.

With update 0.6, this will change. On January 18, 2017, the skills of the captains will be redistributed. There will then be four categories with a total of 32 skills. Of these, 16 are redesigned old acquaintances, and seven are completely new. For example, a skill that allows you to launch squadrons from an aircraft carrier even with a burning flight deck. However, the reloading of the aircraft will then take twice as long.
Also new: Commanders can now, like ships, achieve elite status when they reach the maximum level. Their further experience points will then be credited to a special account, which you can use to retrain or promote other commanders, similar to how free experience points work for ships. More details about update 0.6.0 and the new skills can be found on the Wargaming site in the source reference.
In 60 seconds, Pokémon GO generates more revenue than top games like Game of War or Clash of Clans!
Since its release in July, the augmented reality game “Pokémon GO” has been played by many players around the world. Although the game is free and does not require payments to be “playable,” it is currently one of the highest-grossing mobile games on the market. The game competes against classics that were released as early as 2012.
Pokémon GO surpasses classics
According to real-time calculations from the English website decluttr.com, Pokémon GO generates $2,405.43 per minute. That corresponds to approximately €2,254.28 per minute and €135,256.80 per hour. A strong income, considering that the purchased items in the in-game shop are optional. These items include Poké Balls, which can also be obtained as gifts when visiting PokéStops. Those who want to quickly stock up on balls can buy them for in-game currency in the shop.
Just behind Pokémon GO is Game of War in second place with $2,161.75 per minute. Although Game of War was released in 2013, it clearly demonstrates how long-lasting this strategy game is in this measurement.
In third and fifth place are two true mobile game classics. Clash of Clans and Candy Crush Saga were both released in 2012 and are still holding their place in the top charts of the highest-grossing apps five years later. Fourth place is held by Mobile Strike, an action game that has been on the market since 2015.
Pokémon GO demonstrated its potential shortly after its summer release in 2016. In the first month alone, the game generated $200 million in revenue. In the following months, the hype and the game’s revenue decreased.
New events consistently generate good results. It all started with the Halloween event, which created hype once again. During the event, there were double candy rewards in the game. Many trainers did not want to miss these bonuses. At the same time, the revenue increased again.
At Christmas, there was even a new revenue record for Pokémon GO. The in-game shop offered various packages filled with items like Poké balls and lure modules during the Christmas season. Trainers happily purchased these offers and spent $22.1 million on Pokémon hunting in the week starting December 26.
The first season of Paladins is just around the corner – Hi-Rez is working hard on new features, such as a talent system.
Paladins, the hero shooter from Hi-Rez, is currently still in open beta. However, the game is enjoying great and increasing popularity on Steam and is handled by most fans as “free Overwatch.”
In preparation for the first official season, Rory Newbrough, the lead designer of Paladins, has released a short video. In his “Dev Insight,” he reveals what the developers have planned for the first season and even talks about a completely new system that is set to come soon.

The biggest change is expected to be the introduction of a talent system. At the beginning of each match, characters can choose a talent. In Cassie’s example, there would be a talent for each of her abilities that adjusts the playstyle accordingly. This is meant to lead to more dynamism and excitement and provide further customization apart from the selected card set. Talents will always be selected at the start of a match so that there are no particularly large surprises during the round.
However, concrete examples showing exactly how these talents will affect gameplay have not yet been shown.
Gold is expected to gain significant importance. Gold can be found in loot chests or simply for finishing a match. However, many players currently have large amounts of gold that they do not spend – because, in their view, there is nothing worthwhile to buy. This is also a thorn in the developers’ side, which is why gold is set to be usable for more things with Season 1. Since more options for visual character customization are also planned, these two changes seem to go hand in hand.
To do justice to the eSports character of Paladins, efforts are being made to improve viewer functionality. Currently, watching matches is still relatively chaotic, and as a viewer, one often does not know: Why did the player buy this item? Why is he using this or that card? Creating more transparency and clarity is one of the goals for 2017 so that everything looks more appealing at the next Hi-Rez Expo.
