It doesn’t always have to be orcs and wizards or aliens. The MMORPG Identity places you in a realistic game world. In this world, you can build a second life.
Identity is set in a fictional area of the USA. How you spend your life there is up to you. Do you want to just have a regular job, buy a little house, or become a gangster who takes control of entire territories? You decide. The developers of the MMO have now revealed some new details about their online game.
Criminal or law-abiding?
For example, crafting plays an important role. You have the opportunity to become a drug lord. But to do that, you start small and produce meth in your garage. To do this, you’ll need methylamine. To get it, you’ll have to break into a corresponding warehouse and steal the stuff. However, there is a chance that you’ll run into the police while doing so.
Or you open a shop, decorating the display to attract as many customers as possible. Those who pay in cash in the game carry the money in their inventory and can also be robbed during a heist. Those caught by the police end up in prison and can try to escape from there.
As is fitting for a realistic world, there is also a day-night cycle. Every three hours in real-time, the sun will set. However, the night lasts only one hour. By the way, you can also visit a cinema and watch a movie there. While the game world is essentially designed to have almost no loading times, there will be certain buildings – like the cinema – that will need to be loaded.
PvP should be fair
You should be able to develop your character based on skills to feel like you’re getting better. However, for the sake of fairness, no skills will affect PvP. Food plays a significant role, and those who choose the profession of a cook will supply other players with food and can thus become wealthy.
The MMORPG Identity is set to be released in 2018. Until release, the launch of several modules like a social hub or a racing module is planned. These modules will need to be purchased to finance the development of the online game. Identity draws its first comparisons to Second Life.

The Artcraft Studios have announced a change to the resource system of the PvP MMORPG Crowfall.
In Crowfall, every single resource is supposed to be important. It won’t be the case that you mine copper first and the better you get, the higher quality material you find, making copper eventually just trash. Copper always remains important in the game.
For example, it is possible to combine different resources to create alloys for items, which thereby gain different stats. In this case, copper would also play an important role as it adds a special property to the alloy.
The mining of resources had to be adjusted
However, the system for mining resources did not harmonize with this basic concept. It was a standard MMO system where it was harder to mine gold and you needed better equipment for higher quality materials. The question the developers asked was why, for example, you need a pickaxe for gold, which does not work for copper or silver. So the system was overhauled.
The quality of a resource is now crucial and determines how easy or difficult it is to mine it. The type of resource does not matter. The difficulty of the campaign you are in, as well as the type and location of the parcel where the resource node is located, determine the quality of the resource.
Quality is important
As an example: Rank 1 copper veins never provide better resource quality than “Poor” (gray). In contrast, you receive from rank 10 copper veins rare (blue), epic (purple), and – very rarely – legendary (orange) copper quality. The tool does not break down into ranks but has different quality levels. You simply use picks for mining, hammers for breaking stone, axes for logging, knives for skinning, and shovels for looting.
Thus, the difficulty of mining resource nodes depends on the quality of the node. And the quality of the tool determines how hard or easy it is to mine a node. This also leads to the manufacturing of tools becoming more important in the MMORPG Crowfall.
12 kills within one second? With D.Va, anything is possible in Overwatch .
Every week, absurd, exciting, or simply funny moments happen in Overwatch , often captured in a “Play of the Game”. We searched social media and picked three special highlights for you. Enjoy our 3 “Play of the Game” moments of the week in Overwatch!
Widowmaker is not exactly known as the great deceiver – at least not regarding her gameplay. Player oCrispyyy impressively demonstrates on the Nepal map how to elegantly feign one’s death to deliver a clean headshot from behind. Naturally, in style, right in the air. Soldier: 76 must have been quite annoyed at that moment.

Getting a big kill streak with D.Va’s ultimate isn’t always that easy. Usually, the opposing team is shielded by a Reinhardt or is calmly hiding behind a cover that protects them from the deadly explosion.
Occasionally, however, everything goes according to plan, and the bomb from Lumae rains down on the unsuspecting heads of the enemies. But what if the opposing D.Va had the same idea at that exact moment? The result is 12 dead players. For 10 seconds, there was simply silence.

The last entry comes from a Mei, who simply didn’t feel like waiting for her team. To get the payload (or in this case, rather the “meiload”) to the destination, she promptly locks out the opposing team with an ice wall and prolongs the escort with a cleverly placed Blizzard. Although the opposing McCree manages to take Mei out in the last second of the game – it’s too late.

Patch 7.1.5 for World of Warcraft: Legion is here and once again the DPS values are being reshuffled. Read here which classes can rejoice over amazing damage and which types of heroes are crying in the corner in the WoW DPS ranking.
New patch, new DPS happiness! At least for some players, Patch 7.1.5 should bring great joy, as their heroes are boasting phenomenal DPS values after the update. Other gamers are less happy, as their class has taken a hit. But who is the winner and who is the loser in the DPS race of Patch 7.1.5?
DPS Ranking List – Based on the Raid “Emerald Nightmare”
To crown the best DPS hero, we took a look at the statistics on the Warcraftlogs site and chose the raid “Emerald Nightmare” as the basis. The result was that the Shadow Priest clearly dominated. And that, even though his over-skill “Descent into Madness” has been nerfed! The dark priest is still incredibly strong and far ahead of the second-placed Retribution Paladin.
Next come the Affliction Warlock, the Destruction Demon Hunter, and the Windwalker Monk, all of whom are quite similar in DPS. In the midfield are, among others, the Elemental Shaman and the Fury Warrior, while the Marksman Hunter begins to decline. The two remaining hunters and the unfortunate Feral Druid ultimately lead the DPS bottom list. They deal the least damage and thus have a real problem to get value in the raid.
DPS Ranking of Individual Classes
We have summarized the individual values from the raid statistics here again in a list for you.

In The Division, numerous agents voted on what they particularly wish for 1.6 and Last Stand.
We are expected to receive more information about the future of The Division this week. The ETF phase is over, and next Thursday the “State of the Game” should take place again.
Currently, little has been officially confirmed regarding 1.6 and “Last Stand”: There will be innovations in PvP, such as a Dark Zone leaderboard. All other “hints” about the next update originate from leaks, speculation, or datamining results.
Until we have all official information about 1.6 and Last Stand, there is still time to look at the wishes of the community. What do players expect from the next content update? Which features are yearned for?
In the last few days, there was a voting on reddit about this. We present the top 10 community wishes in German.
Loadouts are important to many agents
In this voting, numerous suggestions were provided from which one could choose their five “must-haves”. A total of 2325 agents selected their top 5. This resulted in this top ten list:
Loadouts: This allows you to switch between created builds with just a few clicks, for example between your PvE and your PvP loadout.
PvP: A Dark Zone where you can choose between PvE and PvP versions. Similar to Survival. The PvP version provides bonuses.
PvP Arena: An activity only for PvP, preferably with private matches.
New Dark Zone classes: With the idea that 7 and 8 become a Rikers stronghold, 9-11 should be an area of the Cleaners, with high contamination and environmental hazards, and 12 and 13 should be occupied by the LMB.
A companion app to manage items on the go.
PvP: More events in the Dark Zone. For example, a Hunters event or helicopter crashes.
Open World (not Dark Zone): Increased enemy density.
PvP: Player search for solo agents.
Expanded map, along with more story missions.
Events in the open world: Time-limited events, such as faction wars.
Only on the further placements do wishes like an expanded stash or a raid, i.e., a large-scale group activity, follow.
Are you surprised by this list or do you mostly agree?
In Destiny, a 3D artist shows how detailed the Exos can look.
In Bungie’s MMO shooter, there are three playable races: Humans, Awoken, and Exos. The Exos, in particular, still raise many questions in year 3 of Destiny, as little is known about them. They were once created for battle and are powerful, tireless machines with consciousness. Those forged in the Light of the Traveler now fight as Guardians.
There are several well-known Exos in the Destiny universe, such as Banshee-44, Cayde-6, Lakshmi-2, or Shiro-4.
But none of them look as good as the Exos in the following images! These were designed by 3D artist Mike Jensen, who worked for Bungie for four years before moving on to the VR studio Polyarc.
Look Me in the Eyes, Exo
Especially impressive are his detailed 3D works of the Exo heads, which stare at you with glowing eyes. However, there are more cool models. See for yourself:
Many of Jensen’s 3D models were published on his artstation page.
Tracking feature with footprints, Pokémon trading, and a new Pokédex. This player has redesigned the interface of Pokémon GO.
When the second Pokémon generation is activated in Pokémon GO, the interface could also use an overhaul. At least that’s what the designer Albert Choi from Vancouver thinks. Although there are already many design proposals from the community on Reddit or other social networks, Choi demonstrates with screenshots and explanations exactly how he would implement his features.
New Pokédex and tracker with footprints
A new Pokédex has room for the monsters of the second generation. In the revised version of the Pokédex, Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquil also have their place. To track these new Pokémon, a tracker with a familiar system should help.
The footprints should lead you to various Pokémon. However, they work differently than usual. There are two types of footprints: footprints of known Pokémon and footprints of Pokémon that you haven’t seen yet.
If you find footprints of Pokémon that you already have in your collection or have successfully tracked down, the corresponding Pokémon will be displayed to you. For unknown ones, you need the “Footprint Identifier” as a special item. This gives you a little extra event when you are searching for new Pokémon.
Trading in the Trade Center
Even in the early versions of Pokémon GO, trading was an important part of the game. Back then, this was done with the help of a link cable or with trading cards. In Choi’s version, there is a Trade Center for that.
The white areas are called Trade Blocks, where trainers can place up to three Pokémon they want to trade for a specific Pokémon. Once a trade offer matches that of another trainer, the trade is completed automatically. Choi deliberately did not use direct trading between two trainers. This is intended to reduce opportunities for cheaters.
If there are significant differences in the CP of the traded Pokémon, the trainer with the weaker Pokémon receives Stardust from the trainer with the stronger Pokémon. So if you trade a powerful Vaporeon for a Snorlax with low CP, you will receive Stardust from the other trainer as compensation.
Catching Legendary Pokémon of the 2nd Generation
A legendary Pokémon like Celebi can appear anywhere in the world in Choi’s design. However, it will be difficult to catch this Pokémon, as you will need a GS Ball. This ball can only be obtained through a special event in Pokémon GO.
Ho-Oh and Lugia can be summoned by trainers who have two special items in their bag. The trainers must then activate both items simultaneously to see the Pokémon in front of them. Then there is a time window of 10 minutes to catch them.
The complete design by Albert Choi can be found on the following website: Albert Choi on Medium.com – There you will see shiny Pokémon, battle centers, PokéGear, and much more.
The official servers of Conan Exiles are provided by the international provider PingPerfect, through which you can also rent private servers. PingPerfect aims to ensure that no server is more than 70% utilized.
If you play on the official servers, you must consider that there will be a wipe every 30 days. You start over every month. The servers are divided into the categories Purist, Relaxed, Hardcore, Roleplay, and Experimental.
Your servers – your rules
If you create your own server, you can set your own rules. When you purchase Conan Exiles, you also receive a tool for dedicated servers. This allows you to install a private server on any computer via Steam. You can access the server settings under Options -> Server settings.
Here you can set the PvP gameplay and decide, for example, whether there should be sandstorms. You also determine what players lose in case of death. You can also adjust the day and night cycle, player health and stamina, resource and experience gain, and much more.
As a server administrator, you also have access to many additional functions. You can spawn any objects, instantly receive all building components, and give your character all crafting recipes immediately. Furthermore, you can increase your character’s movement speed, make your character invisible, teleport him, or level up quickly, remove hunger and thirst, and spawn NPCs.
Customize the game through Mods
You will also be provided with mod tools. You will receive the editor for the Unreal Engine and can add new monsters and objects or change any features. The role-playing game Conan Exiles will start on January 31 in early access. However, initially only on PC. The Xbox One version will follow in spring.
A mod for ARK: Survival Evolved replaces all dinos with Pokémon but has received a notice for copyright infringement.
Last night, I received a message from our editor-in-chief, Schuhman, saying: “Hey Leya, I found some news that combines two of your favorite things.” He was right: It was a mod, that merges Pokémon and ARK.
The Pokémon mod is currently available for download on the Steam Workshop. It replaces all dinosaurs with Pokémon from various generations.
If you want to grab the mod and all Pokémon in ARK, you might need to be quick. There is currently a DMCA notice on the workshop page. DMCA stands for “Digital Millennium Copyright Act” and is a U.S. law dealing with copyright issues.
UPDATE: The DMCA notice is no longer on the workshop page. Pokésauruses for everyone!
YouTuber everynightxRIOT shows how the Pokémon roam the landscape of ARK.

Complaint about Pokémon mod comes from another modder
The English-language site Pc Gamer has contacted the creator of the mod. He believes that the complaint against the Pokémon mod did not come from Nintendo, but from another modder who is also working on a Pokémon mod for Ark: Survival Evolved. So it’s a homemade, internal drama within the modding community of Ark.
Valve will now have to review the mod and decide whether it violates copyright. However, if the mod is approved and continues to exist, the mod team will further develop the Pokésauruses. The mod is still in alpha, but already looks very appealing.
In the fantasy MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV today the new patch 3.5 is being implemented. The servers are down for maintenance.

English Patch Notes for Final Fantasy XIV 3.5 “Far Edge of Fate”
During this time, Square Enix is implementing the new patch 3.5 “Far Edge of Fate”. This is the first part of the final patch for Heavensward. The second part is scheduled for release in March. In June, the expansion “Stormblood” is coming.
Will Magic try again – will the attack on the genre leader Hearthstone succeed?
The genre of online card games has flourished in recent years. This is largely due to Blizzard, who – as in many previous games – have revolutionized the genre through simplifications and accessibility.
Hearthstone is loosely based on the Warcraft TCG, which was discontinued with the release of Hearthstone. However, the real leader in the realm of physical card games has been and still is “Magic: The Gathering”, which has never quite gained a foothold in the digital realm – at least not until now.
In the future, this is supposed to change. Chris Cocks from Wizard of the Coast has announced that they will invest more money in the digital teams to unleash the full potential of the games. The goal is to reinvent the digital versions of “Magic” and the other games.
And the developers seem to be serious: A completely new team has recently been formed, consisting of “old veterans” who previously worked for Valve, Activision, and BioWare.
But with the improved versions of the current games, this is not the end. They want to transfer the worlds they have created into new genres. As an example, Cocks mentioned the possibilities of a Magic MMO or an augmented reality game for Dungeons & Dragons.
There are currently no specific deadlines for the implementation of these plans, but the whole team is already eager to find out how players will “tap Mana and prepare spells in the future.”
Cortyn says: I believe it will be quite difficult to implement the plans regarding Magic. The fact that a 1:1 adaptation has been received poorly by players in the past has already been shown. A simplified version risks quickly being dismissed as a “Hearthstone” clone.
However, we must not forget that there are many Magic fans who long for something new from “their” game makers. Magic is in a difficult position. Whether the mother of all TCGs will succeed in making a successful run in the digital realm, only crystal ball owners can know.
The fourth title update for FIFA 17 is upcoming. It is expected to be labeled 1.05. The patch notes are already known.
EA Sports releases a title update for FIFA 17 every month, introducing new features and fixing bugs. According to community manager Rob Hodson, the developers take the community’s feedback very seriously – at least the constructive one. The next update will fix several issues that the player base has been complaining about for weeks and months.
The fourth title update (expected to be update 1.05) will be released soon on PC, once the current Weekend League is completed. The release of the update on PS4 and Xbox One will occur at a later point in time.
Changes to Kits and the Latency Bar
The patch notes mainly list new features in the “Ultimate Team” mode in FUT 17:
A bug regarding kits will be fixed: They were not always displayed correctly in the kit selection screen.
During the game, no custom player positions can be selected in team management.
A bug in the Squad Building Challenges will be fixed: When switching between a high-rated player and a low-rated player, it could happen that the team rating increases.
On the matchup screen of FUT Champions, Est. Date, Crest, and Squad Name will be removed.
The graphics of the latency bar will be revamped: It will now provide more details about the connection quality.
Career Mode:
The weekly wages in the budget tab do not reflect the actual weekly wages correctly. The issue will be fixed.
General Changes:
The camera selection for slow-motion goal replays will be improved.
EATV buffering will be addressed.
The audio balance of the French commentators will be adjusted.
The language of the commentators in The Journey now corresponds to the language selected in the game settings.
Gameplay:
There was an issue where passes were executed even without pressing a button.
Low pressure tactics will adjust the position of the defensive line.
The Timewalking Event of WoW may soon be expanded to include raids.
During the Warlords of Draenor expansion, Blizzard implemented weekly events as additional gameplay incentives in World of Warcraft. Among the most popular events are the Timewalks, which allow players to experience adventures in dungeons from past expansions for one week at a time. In addition to solid gear, there is also a special currency that can be exchanged for toys and mounts.
So far, there are only the dungeons of past expansions – namely The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria. Raids have been excluded from this event – so far.
In the last developer livestream, Community Manager Josh Allen (“Lore”) spoke with Senior Game Designer Paul Kubit about all kinds of game systems. The question arose whether raid instances would also be available in the Timewalking.
The pleasing answer: Pretty likely!
According to Kubit, it’s only a matter of time before they get around to integrating the old raids into the system as well. However, it is still unclear whether this will happen during the times of Legion.
Cortyn says: I’m still not quite on board with this idea. While it’s certainly cool to bring the “old raids” back to life and relevance, similar to the dungeons, you won’t be able to capture the feeling of back then. It would hurt my soul to just roll over a Lich King who is “at my level” or to see the fight with Illidan completely trivialized.
Ultimately, it’s probably a good thing, as it means more content is available and newer players can enjoy old battles – currently, they only do this if they want to farm achievements or clothing for transmogging.
We took a closer look at Guardians of Ember. How does this hack and slay MMO play?
Guardians of Ember is a combination of MMORPG and hack and slay. It is currently in Early Access and is developed by Runewaker Entertainment, known for games like Runes of Magic and Dragon’s Prophet. The access for Early Access costs €18.99 at Steam for the cheapest option.
In this article, we share the impressions we gained during this testing phase.
Classes of Guardians of Ember: Great Choice in Character Creation
Before diving into the world of Guardians of Ember, you need to create a character. Guardians of Ember places a lot of importance on character creation. This is evident in the wide range of customization options available. First, you choose your race, class, and gender. The races available are Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Neia, who are described as forest spirits.
As classes, you have Warrior, Priest, Mage, Engineer, and Hunter at your disposal. Due to balancing issues, the sixth class Dark Knight is not currently in the game. In our test, we chose a Dwarf Hunter.
After deciding on race, class, and gender, it’s time for fine-tuning. This is especially fine in Guardians of Ember. In addition to the color of the eyes, hair, and lips, there are more detailed settings for body size, shoulders, torso, arms, back, and legs.
To give your character a personal touch, you can also adjust the head shape, eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, and ears down to the smallest detail. In the image below, you can see the many different customization options that you can use to design your character.
An overview of the visual customizations in Guardians of Ember
Compared to other hack and slay titles, such as Diablo, you have significantly more options and sliders for character customization. In Blizzard’s hack and slay, you can only change the appearance of characters through equipment.
If you are satisfied with your character’s appearance, you give it a name and then start in the world of Guardians of Ember.
The Start and First Skills
Right at the beginning of the adventure, the tidy interface of Guardians of Ember impresses. In the upper left corner are various shortcuts to guilds, skills, character overview, inventory, and general game options.
At the top right, the quest tracker is displayed, with which you can track current quests. The map, skills, as well as health and resource displays are located at the bottom of the game.
The interface appears manageable and not bulky – however, it could still be smaller and show more of the game.
A clear interface leaves plenty of room for action in the game
In the image, you can see the orange circle on the minimap, which indicates the first quest target that you should move to. By now, it’s clear that this hack and slay is “different”.
Instead of just controlling with the mouse, you can also use W, A, S, D and can jump. Even if there seems to be no sense in jumping at first glance, it’s a significant advantage for most MMO fans. Just imagine games like World of Warcraft without a jump hotkey. Impossible!
The abilities are mapped to the left and right mouse button as well as the numbers 1-6. Potions for health points and resources are on Q and E. This layout is familiar from other games. If you prefer letters as hotkeys for abilities or don’t want to readjust from other games like Path of Exile, you can remap the skills to other keys.
After the basic explanations of control and interface, it starts with the well-known “Looting and leveling” principle.
Combat System Not Fully Developed
The quest system is familiar from other MMOs like World of Warcraft. You go to a quest giver, turn in the quest, and receive at least one new task. Through the various quests, you enter new areas and meet new quest givers who have missions for you.
For completed quests and killing monsters, experience points rain down, which increase your level.
After completing a few quests and leveling up, you can distribute skill points. Here, you have the option to enhance your skills by choosing different skill paths. At first glance, the system with its many possibilities and skill paths is confusing. You need to familiarize yourself a bit before you understand the various options. Until your character reaches level 25, you can reset these points for free and try out new paths and skills.
The skill tree of a hunter in Guardians of Ember
The implementation of these abilities is not well executed at this time. Guardians of Ember is described by developers as “a unique combination of hack and slash and MMORPG, focusing on action-oriented combat.” While the focus on fighting is understandable, the action is lacking.
Games like Path of Exile or Diablo III have fluid combat systems where speed is key. Using skills between or during movements is an important part of games in this genre. In Guardians of Ember, fighting does not feel as fluid. The attack speed is low and it takes a long time to kill some monsters.
Most of the monsters you encounter until level 20 only have normal attacks and no special effects. Foes with special attacks that you need to dodge or that you can counter with other attacks are rare.
During the early access phase, there were also delays in attacks. However, this may be related to server issues and doesn’t necessarily indicate a problem with the combat system. There were already problems with the game servers due to the high player influx at the very beginning of early access issues with the game servers.
Maps, Instances, and Public Events
While you walk through the various maps and areas that are green and vibrant in the early levels, you will encounter quest givers and wild mobs. The problematic waypoints sometimes lie at the other end of the area. To reach them, you first have to walk a long way, which can take several minutes. We didn’t find a permanent mount that could facilitate faster movement while playing. The horse you see in the picture was only available for a limited time.
A mount that was only temporarily available.
When completing the first quests, you quickly come across instances. The glowing entrances are conspicuous and are highlighted by markers on the minimap. In these instances, many monsters await you, which you best defeat using hit and run tactics.
It felt like the monsters in these instances were stronger than enemies in the outside world and required a bit more strategy to defeat. At the beginning of an instance, you can also choose what difficulty you want to play it on. A higher difficulty promises better loot when you defeat the instance boss at the end. Here, you can unlock additional loot with keys available as daily login bonuses.
The login bonus can also be found at the small, inconspicuous gift icon to the right of the resources. Unfortunately, this small icon is easily overlooked, which can result in many rewards being lost.
In addition to instances, you also find public events while questing. All players in the active area can participate in these events. Generally, you will need to kill a specific number of mobs followed by a special enemy who has a reward for you. These events also provide additional experience and gold rewards.
Build Your Own House
There are also additional activities in Guardians of Ember outside the quest areas. For example, you can build houses and upgrade them with various furnishing items. You can use the house to store items.
Additionally, there are pets in Guardians of Ember that you can use to collect loot. Players can obtain crafting materials through fishing or when harvesting planted crops. In one of the first quests, you will be shown how fishing works in the game.
Conclusion
The combination of hack and slay and MMO works well in many areas in Guardians of Ember. Other players you encounter in quest areas and cities do not come across as intrusive. In search of better items, you automatically expand your adventures into diverse areas that create a gloomy yet peaceful atmosphere with their design.
The negatively noted aspects of the combat system can certainly be improved and made smoother, which could enhance the fun of the game. More variety in quests could also ensure that players remain more engaged with the game and have longer-lasting fun.
Guardians of Ember has a lot of potential, and we are excited to see how the game develops in the future. At the moment, it is still in Early Access.
What are your opinions on Guardians of Ember? Have you played it yourself, or are you waiting for the Early Access phase to end?
At The Division, Ubisoft wants to know: Are you interested in a “Battle Royale” for Survival?
Since Friday, Ubisoft has been sending emails to selected agents: They thank you for purchasing Survival and then ask you to take a few minutes for a survey. It concerns the player experience in Survival. The feedback from players is crucial for future expansions.
The survey initially asks some general questions about the person, such as how old they are, on which platform they play The Division, and what they particularly enjoy about Survival. Then the questions get more interesting. Is Massive considering a new mode for Survival?
“Last Man Standing” in “Last Stand”?
Ubisoft asks directly: “How interested are you in a “Last Man Standing” mode for Survival?” So, a “Battle Royale” mode that many know from “The Hunger Games.” In such a mode, only one player survives the session. There is only one winner. We have already discussed a “Battle Royale” for Survival in detail here.
However, the question arises: For which expansion is Ubisoft collecting feedback? The content for the next DLC “Last Stand” should already be well into development. This will be released in early 2017, so there isn’t much time left for major innovations.
With “Last Stand,” although great PvE activities are expected, it is more likely that later expansions will be able to implement the wishes and suggestions from this survey. But what comes after “Last Stand”? Will there be new expansions or even a standalone sequel, “The Division 2”?
Where do you want to go in the future?
The current survey asks further questions which indicate that Ubisoft might be working on a second year.
One question is whether you would buy a “follow-up” to The Division. This likely refers to a sequel, a possible “The Division 2.” When it would be released is still completely unknown.
Interesting is also Ubisoft’s question about where the game should take you in the future:
To a new city (but continuing the current story)
Staying in New York City (with continuation of the current story)
To a new city (during the time of the current The Division)
To a new city (and to another time)
What Ubisoft and Massive will ultimately do with the answers to these questions remains to be seen.
In the past, Ubisoft also sent emails asking specific questions about what agents wanted in the future. Many saw this as evidence that The Division would have a “Year 2” – which is still not officially announced.
Interestingly, they asked several questions about Destiny, why players still play this MMO shooter. In the current survey, there is also a question about Bungie’s Destiny: “From 1-10, how likely would you recommend Destiny to a friend?”
What do you think, what will happen with The Division?
The PvP shooter Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is set to enter a closed beta next month.
Playerunknown, Brendan Greene, created the “Battle Royale” mode for Arma 3. He later adapted it for H1Z1. In this mode, players start in an area and fight each other until only one remains. The play area continuously shrinks, pushing players toward a final confrontation in the center of the map.
The “Battle Royale” game mode enjoys great popularity in some games. Especially on Twitch, this mode is popular. There is a natural tension – fewer and fewer players in an increasingly confined space. This works, regardless of the game.
It’s only natural that Greene wanted to turn his mode into a “standalone” game. And that’s what he’s currently doing.

Playerunknown’s Battleground is this game. It is being developed by Bluehole, Greene is the mastermind behind it, and his game is making good progress. The alpha 2 phase has now ended. Nearly 15,000 players participated, completing 2,792 games over four weekends, as noted in a new dev blog.
In February 2017, a first closed beta phase is set to begin. Here, they aim to further improve the gunplay and animations.
The superhero MMO DC Universe Online (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One) offers a boost to CR 100. The gift is valid for another two weeks.
Some MMOs like World of Warcraft have been experimenting with this for a while: players should save the often somewhat slow entry times and jump directly into the content.
DC Universe Online also features such a system now, but it’s free. For its birthday, DC Universe Online is giving all players a boost to Combat Rating 100. Members even get two.

To ensure that players don’t start at CR100 without proper gear, Daybreak is also providing suitable equipment, so players can start with Tier 5 and Tier 6. This boost is valid until January 31.
To use the boost, log into the game, select your character, and click the appropriate buttons “Advance Character Level” and “Skip to CR100.”
The bonus goes hand in hand with another event that is currently running. DCUO is also making all episodes available for free right now.
An unexpected turn of the Classic server project. Why does Nostalrius no longer want to provide the WoW code?
With this request from Nostalrius, few players would have expected this at this time. After the private server Nostalrius was shut down by Blizzard last year, its developers handed over the data of this server to the Elysium Team. Together, the Elysium project was launched, which aims to revive the classic servers.
With this decision, the developers of Nostalrius are no longer satisfied. At least, that is what a new post in the forum suggests.
From “Fan Server” to “Pirate Server”
In the Nostalrius forum, there has been a long post since yesterday that refers to the future of classic “World of Warcraft” servers. In it, Team Elysium is asked not to further use the data provided by Nostalrius. Although both teams are fighting for official classic servers, there is now a twist in this particular project. What are the reasons for this surprising request to Team Elysium?
One of Nostalrius’ goals has always been: Official legacy servers from Blizzard and to connect the entire WoW community. That the classic servers are now seen in the WoW community not as “fan servers” but as “pirate servers” is considered by Nostalrius a step in the wrong direction.
If you want to connect all players, it is harmful that part of them is devalued as “pirates”. As long as this reputation exists, it is unlikely, according to Nostalrius, to achieve official legacy servers from Blizzard.
Additionally, only about ten percent of the original Nostalrius players are playing on the Elysium servers. That calling the players “pirates” also means for the team that they have not been able to satisfy their community and this attempt at a project has failed.
Contrary to expectations, the handover of the source code and the character database to Elysium has made it harder to achieve the two mentioned goals.
The request from Nostalrius:
We ask Elysium to support our wish for legacy servers by stopping the use of our provided data. We know that they, just like us, desire official legacy servers. As a first step, we have already halted the account transfer process on our side. The Nostalrius community is no longer advocating for private servers, but for official legacy servers.
We are saddened to have to act under these circumstances. In the coming weeks, the use of the Nostalrius core will cease. Until then, we aim to complete Anathema, which will be equally strong or even better than the Nostalrius core. We guarantee that players will notice no differences other than a potential increase in quality.
The Nostalrius servers have been renamed to Anathema PvP and Darrowshire PvE. The characters that have existed since the launch of Elysium will be retained, and the specific data from Nostalrius will be deleted.
Unlike Nostalrius, Elysium will keep these servers active until Blizzard announces official classic servers.
The developers of ARK: Survival Evolved recently shared why the team wants to develop the VR Jurassic Park.
In December of last year, Studio Wildcard announced that they, along with Snail Games, would build ARK Park. This is a VR game that immerses the player in a virtual world with prehistoric creatures.
For Studio Wildcard, the reason they are now making a VR dino game is quite simple: “Our team is completely obsessed with VR!”.
The VR spin-off of the dino survival game ARK arose from the fascination with VR. The developers are convinced that VR will play an important role in the future and the gaming industry.
However, they realized that it is not feasible to simply implement their complex sandbox game “Ark: Survival Evolved” in VR. ARK Park is fundamentally different from anything Studio Wildcard has developed in the last 20 years.
Having fun without much action, the ARK Park should make it possible
The new medium must be approached completely differently in the eyes of the developers than it has been for their existing games. Thus, the team began to engage with the new technology and learn it. During the learning process, the team realized, that it will not be possible to create a VR game that consists of fast movements and lots of action.

Ultimately, the idea was born to create a virtual museum where players can stroll around casually to interact with the dinosaurs. Having fun just by being there. With this thought, it was no longer difficult to develop the concept for a virtual amusement park: The ARK Park.
There is a sign of life from Bless , it is coming “soon” to Europe.
Bless is a Korean AAA MMORPG, published by Aeria Games in Europe and North America. For a while, there were doubts about it because the Bless website was offline for a long time. Some wondered if Aeria Games was serious about porting Bless.
The Bless website is now finally online. There isn’t much to see yet. Just a picture and the announcement “Coming soon” – so it is coming “soon” to Europe. “Coming soon” should not be seen as a promise that it is really coming “soon”, but more as a fixed expression for: It is coming, don’t take the “soon” too seriously.

There is still no specific release date for Bless in Europe.
