Today, Hearthstone will unveil a new expansion – at least all the information suggests that.
Hearthstone is slowly entering the “hot phase” again. The meta is once again stagnant, and most players have gotten used to the cards from “The Streets of Gadgetzan” by now.
A few weeks ago, rumors about the next expansion surfaced, as a voice actress who has worked on other Blizzard projects, had the title “Lost Secrets of Un’Goro” listed on her resume. Shortly after this became known, the title was removed from the resume.
And today seems to be the big day when the curtain falls and Blizzard finally reveals the next expansion. How do we know this so precisely?
Ben Brode himself announced it on Twitter! He wrote that “he is looking forward to Monday” and posted a picture of himself with an axe and exotic plants in the background. The setting strongly resembles Un’Goro, which is yet another confirmation of this addon for fans.

A long time ago on the Nemesis Star …
Long ago, in an eternity far away, two queen rulers lived on the Nemesis Star.
In the south reigned the Dragon Queen Suro. Suros Regime was benevolent, and her realm stretched from Dusk to Garrison. But her dragon breath was so foul that it once sent two to the morgue and even drove all hawks to the moon.
The Thunder Princess Telesto lived with her husband Mida and her brother Tlaloc in the north. The princess’s marriage was no shining dance machine, but Mida multitooled his universal device like an eternal warrior.
Nova Mortis and Telesto – Something is brewing
Nova Mortis, the beloved of Tlaloc, despised the beautiful Telesto. She devised a plan to unleash the first curse upon the kingdom. She sought out the terrible Ahamkara in the south, a dragon that once attacked Telesto’s kingdom and was banished as punishment. The cunning of this cryptic dragon led to the discord between the two queens, causing them to avoid all contact ever since.
“Oh terrible Ahamkara, Telesto’s strength, intellect, and discipline far exceed my own. Help me forge a curse to execute my plan C of seizing the throne. Take my soul as payment,” Nova pleaded.
Ahamkara snorted. This was the opportunity to take revenge on the Thunder Princess now that he finally possessed a soul.
Someone was eavesdropping!
But they were not alone. The Outcast Klaas overheard the murmuring, and his seventh sense gave him the extremely good advice to seek out the Dragon Queen Suro.
Ahamkara began to weave the curse: “Oh Shinobu, heed my plea, grant me the oversoul, I vow to you Shinobu!” He repeated the words over and over again until a brilliant beam shot into the sky.
Telesto’s husband Mida must pay the price
Thunderlord Mida returned home after a crashed party when something evil reached him. Such a pity. As tipsy as he was, a malicious touch was enough to be caught by the pull of doom.
The news of his death spread like wildfire and cloaked the Thunder Princess in mourning. Therefore, Tlaloc represented her on the throne.
In the south, Suro also heard the rumor that Mida was dead. Shortly afterwards, her servant Primus appeared with a prisoner.
“He has breached the Queen’s bow and intruded into your land. We apprehended him at Saladin’s Watch,” said Primus.
Suro glared angrily at the Outcast. “How dare you, unauthorized one!”
“My name is Vex Mythoklaas, short Klaas, and I witnessed the first curse. The terrible Ahamkara forged it in the forests near Monte Carlo under harsh light for Nova Mortis. It contains a doctrine of death and has the force of Zen meteors. Its victim has already been claimed.”
“This crafty dragon…” The chain of events of this first curse was a thorn in the Dragon Queen’s side. “That is a Khwostostrove! Primus, saddle the horses, the 4th Rider shall carry Klaas.” Suro stormed angrily out of the hall and prepared for the journey north.
Tlaloc, the beloved of Nova Mortis, sits on the throne
Meanwhile, Tlaloc had made himself comfortable on the throne and received 44 bows of homage.
Necro, the prince’s chaperone, approached him: “Your Highness, I have the Dragon Queen Suro, she requests an audience.”
“Grant the foreigner entry,” replied Tlaloc.
“Where is the Dark Drinker?” asked Suro as she saw the young man on the throne.
“You mean Mida?”
“Who else, that fool erased all small change in no point 25 for his booze,” Suro mocked.
Tlaloc looked at her with a vacant stare. “He saw the light of the abyss and received a one-way ticket.”
“000h, so he truly met the red death?” she retorted, not very surprised.
“The fate of all fools.”
“And the princess?”
“Only a red ghost of her former self.” Sadness flickered across his face.
“And who are you?”
“I am Tlaloc, son of the Lord of Wolves Bool and twin brother of the Thunder Princess Telesto. What do you want?”
“I have no time for explanations. Take me to Telesto, Bool’s twin.”
Tlaloc nodded to Necro. “My name is Necro, Chas M. Necro. I know how it goes.”
Suro stared at him in bewilderment. “What do you mean?”
“Yes this way.” He showed her the way to the princess’s cell.
Telesto overheard her brother and Suro and decided to play a sleeper simulator. Suro stormed into her shabby supercell and blew into the Gjallarhorn. “Well, now that the ice is broken, rise Telesto. What a shame that we harbor grudges against each other every new day, beyond patience and time. But now I want to support you, Thunder Princess. Listen, your husband was a victim of the first curse ever.”
“For heaven’s sake, no!” Telesto trembled.
“There was a witness, it must be true, such is the promise of the Outcast.”
“Which party pooper set this in motion?” the princess asked.
It was Nova Mortis!
“It was Nova Mortis and the terrible Ahamkara. But do not worry, I have a trick up my sleeve. This black, scrawny traitor will pay.” The Dragon Queen reached out her hand towards Telesto.
“Don’t you dare touch me! This nemesis has led me astray. For that, I will annihilate her and cast her out of my kingdom! This shall be my will, whether she despairs or not!” she shouted loudly. She gathered herself momentarily and calmed down. “Suro, forgive my outburst.” “Primus,” Suro said, nodding understandingly at Telesto, “find Nova as quickly as you can.”
“Yes my Lord, I will fix this quickly. Dead or alive?”
“Alive.”
Necro appeared outraged: “But… but… but that makes no sense!”
“That is my last word,” hissed Suro. Primus bowed and set off.
Using the Fabian strategy, he tracked down Nova Mortis in the ash factory. As she resisted, Primus shouted: “You are found guilty!” Primus bound Nova in shackles of nothingness. She attempted to seduce him, but he resisted. The bringer of fate met her bad karma and she saw no land outside anymore.
In our State of Play, we take a look at the paid MMORPGs WoW, ESO, Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy XIV, and Black Desert. Where do they stand at the beginning of 2017?
Final Fantasy XIV has few problems, and the problems it has are often complicated and tricky. For example, Square Enix introduced a new mission type with Heavensward, which never really worked because collectors and hunters wanted to benefit at the same time, causing endless struggles.
Unlike most other MMORPGs, FF14 does not have a content, but a fatigue problem. New game content, new tiers, new dungeons, raids, quests, and grinds come regularly. Some players complain: It’s always the same. What I’ve done recently is now worthless.
We are aware of the problem, but we don’t really have a solution. The team is trying hard for variety, the leader states. They want to convince with quality here.

In general, players are quite satisfied with Square Enix and the mastermind behind Final Fantasy, Naoki Yoshida. Unlike the often rather bland leaders of other MMORPGs, Yoshida is celebrated like a rockstar.
Final Fantasy XIV has been stable in its niche for years. Heavensward came and went – it hardly changed the status quo of FF14. Those who like it still like it. But Heavensward did not change the status quo as hoped. Final Fantasy XIV remains a niche game away from the mainstream.
In contrast to the fantasy orientation in Heavensward, Square Enix is now focusing much more on “Eastern,” with a clear Asian look. They want to try it this way.
What is the perspective for Final Fantasy XIV?
FF14 adheres to classic MMORPG ideas: It always goes higher, faster, further. The item spiral continuously rotates upwards.
It is an MMORPG that has developed independently from the rest of the market. Everywhere, game content is now “scaled”; games adopt Free2Play ideas and take different paths. Final Fantasy XIV doesn’t care about any of this: Players who want to play the new expansion must first quest through the long main quests of the base game and Heavensward. That’s the rules.
FF14 has its target audience, has its roots, follows its own goals, and pushes through.
On one hand, there is the impression that FF14 would like to be more successful in Europe and the West – its main success is in Japan, but Final Fantasy XIV is not willing to make too many compromises for this.
The fans love it. Others look at it a bit puzzled. This will probably not change with the second expansion, Stormblood. Final Fantasy XIV is what it is, since the “relaunch,” and it is probably good that way.
In the second part of the “Chronicles” series of World of Warcraft, there are many details about Draenor and the first wars between humans and orcs.
The backstory of World of Warcraft, with its maturation over more than a quarter of a century, is one of the more complex stories in video game history. Those who want to know every detail of the world must lock themselves away for weeks with books, comics, websites, and a movie to grasp the full extent of Blizzard’s universe.
However, many sources have become outdated over the years, have been revised, or even completely retold to fit better into the “big picture” of the story.

With “World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 2”, the backstory continues. This time, the focus is primarily on Draenor, the development of the planet, and the orc clans. It begins with the shaping of the planet from the wild energies of the elementals and leads through the wars between orcs and ogres to the invasion of Azeroth and later the counter by Turalyon and Khadgar.
But the story of Azeroth is also woven further. How was the Dark Portal opened and what was the course of the war? Why did the orcs already have death knights on their side? Chronicles 2 provides answers to all these questions and fills in the logic and knowledge gaps that have accumulated over the decades.
The book will be released on March 14, 2017, in English – exactly one year after the release of the first book. A release date for the German version is still pending.
A large part of the contents of Chronicles still comes from the pen of Chris Metzen, before he announced his retirement last year.
With Life is Feudal, the indie studio Bitbox Ltd. aims to create a medieval sandbox MMORPG where players enjoy a lot of freedom. A second closed beta has now started.
The new beta of the MMO part of Life is Feudal started on February 20 and will last for about two weeks. The beta is intended to gather feedback from testers. Survival elements also play an important role in the beta. For example, you need to build shelters to protect yourself from wild animals. You will gradually obtain better gear, just like in Conan Exiles, and thus become more powerful.
Guilds build gigantic cities
What happens when you join forces with guilds can be seen in a new trailer. This showcases the player cities of several guilds, which look impressive.
In the game, it is essentially possible to construct buildings anywhere the ground is flat enough. The video excellently shows what magnificent settlements can be built collaboratively and how the climate zone can influence design. For instance, a city built in snowy regions can also be designed to resemble a Viking settlement.
Trade, Diplomacy or War
Life is Feudal aims to stand out not only through battles or building settlements but also offers you the opportunity to establish a player-driven economy. You manufacture goods yourself that you trade with each other. Additionally, diplomacy plays an important role. Can you come to an agreement with the ruler of the neighboring kingdom, or will it lead to war, where cities are besieged? You are part of this world and can significantly contribute to its development.
According to the US site Massivelyoverpowered, players who have purchased access for at least $45 have access to the beta.
In For Honor, the Creative Director reveals four “secrets” to winning in 4v4 modes.
The matches in For Honor can be brutal. The 4v4 modes (Dominion, Elimination, Skirmish) are particularly hard to master, as chaos reigns on the battlefields and the heroes often beat each other up “dishonorably”.
How you can use this scenario to your advantage is explained by the Creative Director Jason Vandenberghe. In an interview with gamesradar, he gives four tips to win 4v4 battles (especially in Dominion).
Tip 1: Block like there’s no tomorrow
At first glance, it seems like an obvious recommendation, but according to Vandenberghe, it’s the first thing you need to learn properly. Your fights end too quickly if you haven’t internalized the basics of blocking.
Keep in mind:
Not all heroes maintain their block position. Assassins can only hold a defensive stance for a short time, so you need to pay close attention to the timing.
In advanced training, you will learn how to block the attacks of multiple opponents. In 4v4, it is common to be outnumbered. Get familiar with this mechanic.
After you block an attack, transition directly to a quick strike. Use a swift attack or a Guard Break. Pay attention to the combos that opponents use. You may need to keep your guard up for one more strike.
Tip 2: Know your ideal distance to the enemy
Every hero has their preferred distance to the opponent at which they execute their attacks. For example, a Nobushi wants to strike from a greater distance, so you shouldn’t let the opponent get too close. However, if you are fighting against a Nobushi, try to get as close as possible. This is where she feels uncomfortable.
Vandenberghe believes that the better you manage your distance, the closer you are to victory. Feel free to exhaust your stamina for this purpose: Roll away from the opponent or rush towards them to maintain the perfect distance.
Tip 3: Communication and coordination
If everyone on your team has the same hero, it may look cool, but it’s not very tactical. Each hero has different strengths and weaknesses that are crucial on the battlefield. Which roles your heroes should take in Dominion mode, we cover in the provided link.
Additionally, Vandenberghe suggests that it can lead to success if you split your squad into teams of two. Alone, you are easy prey, but in two-person teams, you should not lose sight of the control zones. However, two-person teams are generally a good strategy.
Furthermore, he advises to play “dishonorably”. If an ally nearby needs help, strike the enemy from behind while they are distracted. Ultimately, it is not about honor, but about victory.
Tip 4: Distract the enemies
In 4v4 matches, the biggest threat is being attacked at once by multiple heroes and having to face them alone. Here, retreating is a good tip. However, it’s also worthwhile to confront the enemies to distract them for a while.
Use long-range attacks and move in a way that enemies cannot surround you. Keep them at a distance and make sure they follow you. Vandenberghe emphasizes that these enemies cannot score points for your team as long as you distract them. Meanwhile, your allies will be in the majority and can capture the zones.
In short: When dealing with multiple opponents, the main goal is not to defeat them, but to stay alive as long as possible and distract the enemies.
From this evening, the special Pikachu is available in Pokémon GO – Start time and duration of the Pikachu event can be found here.
A new event awaits the players of Pokémon GO this evening. To celebrate Pokémon Day, Pikachu has put on a party hat and is celebrating with you. For a limited time, you can find this special Pikachu with a hat in Pokémon GO. Once the event is over, you won’t be able to find this rare specimen in the wild, so you should keep an eye out for the little electric monster in the coming days.
Special Pikachu for a limited time
On February 27th, it is Pokémon Day, and the Pokémon GO team is celebrating it with its players. Tonight at 10:00 PM, the event starts and will be active until March 6th at 10:00 PM. What makes this event special are the special Pikachus that celebrate Pokémon Day with festive party hats. If you catch a Pikachu with a party hat during the event, it will keep this hat forever.
You can only find these special Pikachu during the Pokémon Day event, so you should keep your eyes open. It is uncertain whether these Pikachu in this form will ever be incorporated into the game again. Therefore, the time from tonight at 10:00 PM is particularly important for collectors to add a rare specimen to their collection.
It is unclear whether Raichu will also wear a party hat when you evolve a corresponding Pikachu. During the Christmas event, there was a similar action with this Pokémon, which wore a Christmas cap instead of a party hat during the event. The evolved form could also wear this cap. We will find out in the coming hours whether this is also the case for the Pokémon Day event.
Patch 7.2 of World of Warcraft allows players to choose Legendaries to their liking – at least in theory.
The system surrounding legendary items in World of Warcraft has been a topic of discussion for months. Players have repeatedly complained that they only received a “bad” Legendary and would much rather have had Legendary X and Y. While Blizzard has refused to implement a “Token” system, arguing that it would devalue Legendaries too much, a new system has sneaked in with Patch 7.2 that most players will likely appreciate.
We have already reported that on the Broken Shore, the new area of Patch 7.2, there is a fresh currency and “Tokens” that, when used, create solid equipment for a character. These Tokens are now the key to specifically seek certain Legendary items.
For when the Tokens are used, they can create not just an epic item, but with a bit of luck, you may even get a Legendary. This Legendary corresponds to the equipment slot for which the Token was intended.
Legendary Targeting Possible with Patch 7.2
To clarify, a small example: You want the legendary shoulders for your class because they are the “Best in Slot” item? Then you should spend your earned currencies on the Shoulder Armor Token on the Broken Shore. Because if a legendary item is created, it is guaranteed to be for the shoulder slot.
Blizzard is responding to players’ desire to be able to “hunt” certain Legendaries instead of being completely dependent on the (largely) hated RNG. While it can still take some time with the Tokens to obtain the desired Legendary, the chances of it being the “desired legendary” drastically increase.
What do you think about this change? Do you think it’s good that legendary items can now be targeted? Or should Blizzard leave the system as it was in Patch 7.1.5?
In the future, Destiny will see an adjustment to Skorr’s Fable. A meaningful change?
The Awakening of the Iron Lords introduced the “Iron Lord” artifacts, including Skorr’s Fable. This item is currently a kind of “Gjallarhorn” among the artifacts, as one can be sure that at least one opposing Guardian in the Trials of Osiris has Skorr equipped.
This artifact causes the Super abilities of nearby allies to recharge faster when your own Super is full. So it only brings you advantages if you play in a group and stay close to each other. A prime example of such a scenario: The Trials of Osiris.
Changes to Skorr are planned
In the latest “This Week at Bungie,” Senior Designer Josh Hamrick announced some balance adjustments, including to Skorr. For the effect of Skorr to take place in the future, you must first get a kill. The effect then lasts for one minute. After that, another kill is required.
Bungie believes that this will not have a major impact in PvE, as one should be able to kill an enemy every 60 seconds. However, in the Trials, Skorr bearers will be forced into more activity.
By the way: Josh Hamrick added via Twitter that Skorr’s effect cannot be triggered by grenade kills.
Guardians puzzle over whether these changes make sense
On reddit, some Guardians are unsure whether Bungie’s plan will really work. They believe that especially PvE will suffer under these changes.
Several users write that they like to use Skorr in raids, before going up against a boss, when Guardians are joining or when switching characters. This allows the Super to be charged in advance, preparing all Guardians for the fight. Since in these phases before a fight, the Skorr effect will no longer be activated after the patch, this “Quality of Life” benefit would be lost.
Some also pessimistically believe that not much will change in the Trials. Guardians will continue to camp, and when an enemy comes near, they will simply take them down and benefit from Skorr’s Fable.
What do our readers say?
However, the overwhelming opinion seems to be that it is a meaningful change. Anything that goes against “camping” is welcome. Our readers also see it this way.
Chriz Zle writes that Skorr’s Fable will be balanced perfectly. KingK thinks that the adjustment sounds good at first. vvV AmNesiA Vvv considers the changes mentioned by Hamrick to be worthwhile adjustments and additions to patch 2.5.0.2.
m4st3rchi3f predicts a significant impact on the Trials: “I suspect that Skorr will pretty much die out in the Trials, as the likelihood of everyone getting a kill within 60 seconds is relatively low (it does happen that one person gets a double kill). That means if it happens, the “strongest” player should use it.”
Rets suggests that Skorr should also be activated by an assist – to make team shots make more sense.
Now we ask you directly about this topic: Do you consider the Skorr adjustment to be meaningful?
In The Division, you can now show your agent builds to the worldwide community. Massive has launched “Build of the Week” (BOTW).
Have you always created the very best builds and scoffed at all the builds that this “Mein-MMO” site has introduced over the months? Are you the greatest theorycrafters and feel ready to present your accumulated insights to the agency?
Then Massive now offers you a platform for that. They opened the “Builds-Subforum” in the Ubi forum, where you can present your character setups and discuss them freely with other agents. Once a week, Massive will then raise a finger, point it at a build, and say: This is the Build of the Week!
Here’s how you can participate in BOTW
Here’s how it goes:
You can reach the Builds-Subforum through the provided link.
Now, present your build in detail and mark it in the title with BOTW. This is the abbreviation for “Build of the Week” and shows Massive that you want to submit this build.
This information must be included:
A screenshot of your loadout (best uploaded with Imgur)
The primary stats (weapons, stamina, electronics)
Any higher and lower attributes that are relevant to the build
Gear talents and set bonuses
Weapons and weapon talents
Character talents
Pro tips to help other agents replicate the build
Every week, during the “State of the Game”, the regular update from Massive, the BOTW will be presented. Usually, thousands of agents watch it live or view a recording of it later.
But this “fame” is not the only reward: The creator of the winning build receives an additional prize. What this will be is still unknown.
ARK Survival Evolved has added new dinosaurs and Tek structures with Patch 255. Check out the new creatures in this fun video.
The patch v255 is now available for PC and brings 4 new creatures to ARK: Electrophorus, Microraptor, Ammonite, Thylacoleo.
Studio Wildcard released a video showcasing the dinosaurs in their natural habitat. Check out what thenew dinosaurs can do. Be warned, this video is brutal: carnivores will take a tasty bite of unsuspecting humans. But players of survival MMOs like you are used to this anyway.
In The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) you can become vampires or werewolves. But which one is better suited for which player, and what skills and abilities are suitable for which role in the game? We explain!
Werewolves or vampires? This question has been on people’s minds since the monster romance Twilight. Even in the Elder Scrolls games, one could become the undead bloodsucker or a ferocious werewolf since Morrowind. This is also the case in The Elder Scrolls Online. However, since you can either wear fur or suck blood, it is important to weigh your choice carefully, as the skills and applications of the two beings are different and target different playstyles.
ESO – How do I even become a werewolf or vampire?
If you want to become a vampire or werewolf, we have good news for you. On Mein-MMO, there are guides that will describe the path to becoming a bloodsucker or a wolf in detail:
Werewolf or vampire? The advantages, disadvantages, and skills of the werewolf
The werewolf was definitely the loser among the spooky creatures in ESO, but since Update 5, he has become a strong fighter with few weaknesses. The most important thing about being a werewolf: you must actively transform into a werewolf, which is an ultimate ability. Only then can you use the active and passive werewolf skills and increase your levels in that skill tree.
Advantages of the werewolf
Werewolves receive the status buff “Lycanthropy” permanently. This means that they regenerate 15 percent more stamina, whether they transform or not. That alone makes the werewolf a top choice for all players focusing on a stamina build. By the way, the werewolf disadvantage of weakness to poison only applies if you actually become a wolf.
Otherwise, the werewolf in its monster form has good and consistently high DPS. Its normal attacks cause bleeds, and its heavy hits give it stamina back. Furthermore, the wolf can pounce on its enemies from a distance and heal itself. Other skills allow for group control and more damage over time.
Also cool: you can eat dead enemies to heal yourself, but you don’t have to. Unlike vampires, werewolves do not need to constantly feed to avoid drawbacks.
Disadvantages of the werewolf
The biggest disadvantage of the werewolf is: you are not always a werewolf! You must first transform into a beast with hard-earned ultimate points, and then the duration of the monster form is also limited. However, various skills can significantly extend this time. Nonetheless, an effective werewolf build requires some planning and foresight. Additionally, the werewolf ultimate ability blocks your ultimate slot in your “normal” form.
Also annoying: Werewolves are vulnerable to poison and take 25 percent more damage from it. However, this only applies when you have transformed. In transformation, you only have access to your werewolf skills (passive skills from other lines remain active). You can not use other weapons or spells, which limits your options to a pure melee fighter.
Vampire or werewolf? The advantages, disadvantages, and skills of the vampire
Vampires were once extremely strong, but a bug fix has ended those times a long time ago. Still, the bloodsucker remains a feared enemy in the game, as its skills allow for good damage and favor mages and other magicka builds.
The advantages of the vampire
Vampires have a significant advantage over werewolves: they are always vampires! So you don’t have to transform in a complicated way. Instead, you can mix your vampire skills with other abilities and retain your weapons at any time. The skills of the vampire all rely on magicka, making the bloodsucker a good caster. However, there is also a passive skill later that improves your stamina regeneration. This allows for solid stamina builds.
Just the skills of the vampire alone are quite valuable. Above all, the bat swarm that the vampire uses as an ultimate ability. Especially the morph form that gives you life back is effective. Furthermore, the vampire can drain life force in combat and use it for itself, and as a mist cloud, you can quickly escape from combat while taking little damage and ignoring CC effects.
If your vampire does not drink blood for an extended period, he gets a lot of disadvantages (see below), but also significant advantages. You will cast your vampire skills at a substantial discount, and certain passive skills provide you with strong damage reduction, stamina regeneration, or faster sneaking.
The disadvantages of the vampire
All this power comes at a price: vampires constantly need fresh blood, or they will be plagued by terrible disadvantages. Every six hours in the game, your vampire level rises. This period is reduced by 30 minutes with each vampire skill you apply. So make sure you are well-fed before longer fights! At level 1, you have neither advantages nor disadvantages, but from levels 2 to 4, your vulnerability to fire increases, and your health regeneration decreases significantly.
If you engage the wrong opponent in this state, you are quickly turned to ash. Especially in PvP, vampires must pay close attention to Dragon Knights and other fire damage dealers. Therefore, the vampire is only conditionally suitable as a tank if the player behind it doesn’t constantly ensure enough blood supply. If you forget about regular drinking or cannot do so because your teammates defeat all enemies beforehand, you could encounter a real problem.
Conclusion: What is suitable for which role?
Thanks to several updates and patches, both werewolves and vampires are strong additions to an ESO character. But beware, if you prefer a particular playstyle, you should also choose the appropriate monster:
Vampires are heavily reliant on magicka. Therefore, they are the ideal choice for all offensive mage builds. As they also have good stealth and escape skills, they are well-suited for Nightblades and other stealthy characters. Melee fighters and tanks are also possible, and especially the passive skill “Undead” provides significant damage reduction. However, since you must be at least vampire level 3 and have less than 50 percent health, this build is difficult to master. Ideally, you should play your vampire as a ranged caster who hurls particularly strong magic from a distance and is safe from (fire) damage.
Werewolves, on the other hand, are pure melee fighters and allow no variation. You have your prefabricated wolf build, done! Therefore, they are especially suited for players who want to beat down enemies with gusto. Thanks to their good DPS and self-healing, wolves are ideal damage dealers with good chances of success in both PvP and PvE. Because all werewolves regenerate 15 percent more stamina regardless of their form, lycanthropy is a good idea for any stamina build, even or especially if you never equip or use the werewolf form. Unlike the vampire, you have no disadvantages in normal form.
I want to be something else! How do I heal myself from lycanthropy or vampirism?
If you now realize: “Cursed and stitched! I have chosen the wrong monster! I want to play something else; do I now have to create a new hero?” No, not at all! The respective curse of werewolf or vampire can be easily resolved by a priest of Arkay.
Simply look for the corresponding priest in the Mage Guilds in the Harvest, Bangkorai, or Rift, and you will be a normal human, Khajiit, Argonian, elf, or Orc again. Of course, you can head out again and become the monster of your choice.
For the fanfiction community of Overwatch it is a heavy blow. Another romance has been quashed by Blizzard.
Although Blizzard only revealed relatively sparse details about the story at the launch of Overwatch, it didn’t take long for the community to take the reins themselves. Many stories have been woven around the heroes and villains. Particularly enticing are romantic combinations between the heroes. Tracer and Widowmaker, Genji and Mercy, and many other combinations have been told in fanfictions by the hundreds.
However, one of the most popular and likely theories revolved around Pharah. Her mother is the sharpshooter Ana, who was long thought to be missing. After she reappeared and received some voicelines, the community was immediately on the trail of a “very hot thing.” Did the happy family consist of mother Ana, daughter Pharah, and father Reinhardt?
The fans of this theory must be very brave now, as the Lead Writer Michael Chu, who is primarily responsible for the backstories of the characters, addressed this question in a Q&A session.
“Oh, that is a popular question and I don’t think I’ve ever answered it. I could take the easy way out and give a vague answer here. But I’ll just say it: No. Reinhardt is not Pharah’s father. I mean, that still leaves quite a few other people to consider. But there are some clues!”
Since then, fans have feverishly searched the entire game for the missing key to who Pharah’s father is – it seems like Reinhardt will remain single. But a true knight should not be bound as long as there are fair maidens in distress, right?
In World of Warcraft, you can invest a lot of time – but even that must have limits, says the Game Director.
Last week, the Game Director of World of Warcraft, Ion Hazzikostas, answered many questions in a Q&A livestream with Community Manager Josh Allen. Later in the conversation, they also discussed the death of the major guilds (we reported on that yesterday) and the urge to want to collect more and more artifact power to gain that last point in the third decimal place as an advantage.
Hazzikostas states rather soberly that the game simply isn’t made for players to sink 80 hours or more into it every week.
“If you take a week off and plan “Yeah, next week I will play WoW from morning till night” – that’s okay. We want that to be possible, and there is a lot to do in the world.”
However, it becomes different when that time investment becomes the norm, as is the case with some professional guilds. They play extremely a lot to gain even the slightest advantage that is important in the race for first kills.
The guilds and players need to ask themselves more: Can and do I want to invest so much time in the game every week? Is it healthy, and is the time spent worth the rewards the game gives me?
The future path seems quite clear here. Blizzard does not plan to include an “end” for artifact power, as the new talent with 50 upgrade levels shows. However, the amount of artifact power needed will eventually become so large that “farming just for artifact power” won’t be worth it anymore.
The goal is to have artifact power as a “nice extra” that comes in addition to other rewards – or as a substitute when nothing good drops.

A Widowmaker professional faces off against a cheating copycat in Overwatch. Who wins the duel?
There are a handful of Overwatch players who really have it down. Every shot hits perfectly, every ability is optimally placed, and provides maximum benefit. This brings these players attention from viewers and the occasional tournament. It’s no wonder that some less skilled players want a piece of the attention pie and try to grab the crumbs in unfair ways.
Such was the case for professional player Kephrii last week during a livestream. He is one of the best Widowmaker players in the world with phenomenal reaction times. In a match, he faced off against an opponent who had taken the same Battle.net name and also played Widowmaker. The problem: He was obviously using an aimbot and a wallhack. In the death cams, it can be clearly seen every time how the crosshair perfectly sticks to the enemy hero, even when they are moving quickly and unpredictably.
An exciting match develops, where Kephrii duels the cheater-Kephrii and consistently comes out on top. You can watch the entire game on the Route 66 map in this video.

Even when the cheater switches to Tracer to ruin Kephrii’s day, the team remains calm. “One needs to switch to McCree” is the calm announcement, before even Tracer has to bite the virtual dust again and again.
The satisfaction at the end of the round is evident on Kephrii’s face, but it also gets a bit vulgar in the chat. But what can you say? Someone deserves it.
Once again, it has been shown that even with cheats, you can’t hold a candle to the professionals.
In For Honor, we provide tips for the Dominion mode. These roles should be taken on by your heroes.
If you throw yourselves blindly into the fray in Dominion mode, you will likely come home with a defeat. At the very least, you will not be helping your team if you stagger around the battlefield aimlessly.
To avoid this, you will find here some hints and tips on how you should play with your hero classes in Dominion.
Vanguards – The Shock Troops in Dominion
The Shock Troop warriors are the Warden, the Berserker, and the Kensei. They are balanced fighters who perform solidly in both attack and defense.
The Shock Troop warriors earn more glory in the 4v4 Dominion mode by defeating outnumbered opponents and taking out adds. With this glory, you unlock gifts that provide advantages in battle.
As Shock Troops you should:
Capture and hold the neutral zone (usually B)
Kill as many adds as possible
Engage enemy heroes who want to take the neutral zone
Only leave zone B when there is no danger and you need to assist at another zone
Recommended gifts are Collecting Corpses and Rally.
Assassins – The Assassins in Dominion
The Assassins in For Honor are quick and have a short range. They are particularly suited for counter-attacks. This class includes the Orochi, the Berserker, and the Peacekeepers.
They earn more glory for their gifts by eliminating heroes and executing kill streaks.
As Assassins you should:
Focus primarily on A and C – capturing them as quickly as possible
Defeat enemy heroes when they come at you one at a time
Retreat when the enemy heroes are in the majority
and not die to maintain your kill streaks.
For gifts, you should choose ones that benefit your speed and damage output.
Heavies – The Heavy Fighters in Dominion
Among the “heavy” fighters are the Conqueror, the Warlord, and the Shugoki. They come with strong defense and hit hard, but are slower than other classes.
You gain more glory for your gifts by supporting allies in battle and saving them. Additionally, there is more glory when you stand in and defend the zones.
As a Heavy you should:
Capture zones, stay in them, and hold them – ideally the zone near the enemy spawn
Prevent enemies from recapturing this zone
Utilize your high health to trigger revenge mode often
Only leave the zone when it is not in danger and allies nearby need support.
Your task is to be steadfast. Therefore, choose gifts that enhance your health, stamina, and defensive abilities.
Hybrids – The Hybrids in Dominion
The Hybrids are flexible, unique warriors, including the Lawbringer, the Valkyrie, and the Nobushi.
Since the Hybrids can fulfill many roles, you should deploy them where they are needed – and where there might be a lack.
The Lawbringer can fill the roles of the Shock Troop warriors and Heavies,
the Valkyrie the roles of the Assassins and Heavies
and the Nobushi the roles of the Assassins and Shock Troop warriors.

Blizzard’s success with Overwatch continues – the hero shooter wins a total of 4 titles at the DICE Awards.
By now, it should be clear to everyone that Overwatch has made quite a significant impact in the shooter scene. Many gaming magazines referred to Blizzard’s hero shooter as “the new standard” in this genre upon release, and the game is now being showered with more and more awards.
As was the case this time at the DICE Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, held immediately after the DICE Summit, where Jeff Kaplan also gave a presentation.
Overwatch is the shining winner and took home the coveted title in a total of four categories:
Action Game of the Year
Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay
Outstanding Achievement in Game Design
and the main title Game of the Year
Other winners include titles like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Story, Outstanding Technical Achievement, and Adventure Game of the Year) and Dark Souls 3 (Role-Playing Game of the Year).
However, the development of Overwatch is far from over. The developers regularly add new events featuring skins, maps, and heroes. Currently, the 24th hero is “in announcement”, which is expected in the coming weeks.
Our author Schuhmann takes a look at old news from Bungie about Destiny and notes: They have three days left to release a new expansion.
December 2015. At that time, the mood around Destiny was at its peak. However, it was slowly starting to tip.
In September 2015, the Destiny world was still in order
In September 2015, “The Taken King” was released, by far the best expansion for Destiny up to that point.
TKK kept the Guardians engaged for over 6 weeks into November. Even hardcore players, who spent every free minute in Destiny, found something new every week, as certain things only went live gradually. Puzzles arose, were solved – the Black Spindle, the mysterious basketball room in the raid, the Sleeper Simulant. When would the remaining Exotics finally arrive?
There was a lot going on. From September to November 2015, Destiny was THE topic in the gaming world.
Already in December 2015, things started to wane a bit
Then in mid-November, the euphoria settled. Even the best hype eventually passes. Nothing new came, and the first said: “Now the next DLC could actually come. When will they announce it?”
Probably in December 2015, everyone thought. Then was the PlayStation Experience. Bungie would surely announce the season pass, the new DLCs for 2016, and much more! Fat chance.
There was only a Sparrow event and nothing else. No schedule, no DLC, no word about Destiny 2. Nothing that indicated how Destiny would continue in 2016.
At that time, when many were disappointed by the PlayStation Experience, the marketing chief of Destiny, Eric Osborne, stepped forward. He realized, like many others, that the mood was tipping, and Osborne said: 2016 will be great! We are working on things.
The days of waiting five months for new content are over
Osborne said: Some feared that Bungie would now deliver nothing substantial until they release the next “full Game”. The fear is that there would only be “events”. Osborne contradicted this. Bungie is also planning real content.
They have so much in store for Year 2. A whiteboard is in one of the meeting rooms full of notes, scribbles, and sticky notes filled with new events and activities. The days of waiting five months and ten days for new content like in Year 1 are over. Now they have a new plan.
Last year, we all waited five months and ten days between content drops after December. This year, the plan is to deliver new experiences at a faster clip.
So, let’s take the marketing chief at his word. If we now look at the calendar: Rise of Iron, the last content, was released on September 20, 2016. Since then, apart from “The Dawning” no new content has been released: 158 days.
The date Osborne referred to was the interval between “The Dark Below”, the 1st DLC, and “House of Wolves”, the 2nd DLC – that was 161 days.
Bungie, you have three days left
This means Bungie has exactly three days left to release new content. And one may doubt that they can pull it off. In the last weekly update it was said that maybe next Thursday we will get a roadmap for March. With the next game content, one might expect it at the end of March or mid-April.
So we will have to wait even longer for new content than back in that terrible time that should never happen again. Sometime at the beginning of Year 1.
With all due respect, Year 2 was, no matter what Bungie promised back then, a disappointment due to the postponement of Destiny 2. Today we know that all the concerns Guardians had in December 2015 have come true: Destiny has had far too little substantial content since then. The information policy has even worsened. Now we haven’t received any information since then that they might regret. And everything seems to be waiting for the release of the next “full Game”.
Year 3 does not look good so far. It is already halfway through and almost nothing has happened.
Unless you really count “The Dawning” as a full-fledged content drop. But oh my, “The Dawning” brought recycled strikes and a few new features. That is even further from a content drop than the Prison of Elders – and that was already really thin.
It has long been evident that the concept of “events” and a live team, which can change and expand features but hardly deliver anything new, simply does not work.
You can only keep players engaged to a certain extent with re-skins, shiny ships, sandbox updates, and glowing weapons; then they want the promised substantial new content.
If nothing happens in the next three days, then we have a new record … but not one of the good kind.
We address further consequences of the content drought in this article:
